When Jodi came up to the podium at BOR, I found myself, for the first time--saying aloud--Pleeeaaassse give Jodi an A!! but NOT because I thought Jodi deserved an "A" but because I just wanted her off.the.show. I never wanted Lisa1 to get an A, I just thought she should be kicked to the curb. I am not sure if I wanted Jodi kicked OUT of the house, because that would be unfair, after what Lisa1 got.away.with and STILL graduated and got a coveted trophy. It seems that she's just learned to repeat the catchphrases really well, and they like that at the SO house (remember Lisa the Barfmonkey?), even if no actual progress is made. I like Jodi, though. She's easygoing and thoghtful. Also, I agree with 2Centz. While we're on the topic of Jodi's improvment or lack of, though, I'd like to ponder - Many people (including me, at times) consider Jodi to be "fake". She constantly gives her observations, while trying to stay nuetral but doesn't give the same thought and consideration to herself and her own problems. To get this out of the way, I don't think that Jodi can live happily until she learns to give herserlf the "compassion" she gives others (...and not just saying it to herself but really meaning it). Anyway, Jodi seems know know (and probably knew previous to coming to SO) some of the lingo and seems to have learned how to support other people. Many (including myself) have accused her of being a wanna-be life coach. But I wonder if it's possible to better yourself in this way without seeming fake? To see someone who is non-judgmental but observant or who is the diplomat, rather than the gossip is beyond most people's grasp. However, I think many people strive to be this way. Actually, there is a alot of talk in the SO house about being your "authentic self". Aren't most of us "authentically" gossipy and judgmental? I think any change to be diplomatic, non-judgmental and suportive may be interperted as fake, when in-reality, people are trying to be better people. As each one spoke and finished, Jodi would look at the next one, as if to say "now you may speak". I don't know what it was about it, just that look in her eyes seemed almost as if it had an air of superiority. Queen Jodi accepting compliments from her subjects. Did anyone else notice that? I thought she was had been making SOME progress recently... but I wasn't very impressed with her today. I'm with you Zoey, in that I saw a "realness" in Jodie for the first time and a confidence that was genuine and not "EGO-RELATED" ...not "patronizing"...and I agree with Rhonda in that Jodie actually looked "softer" which along with putting her hair up, seem to make her look attractive instead of the "Toadie" that we'd become use to. She hasn't done much during her long stay in the SOH. Most of what I have seen her do it fight chance every step of the way, challenge the "experts" by acting as if she knows more than they do and refusing to try their suggestions (the nutritionist for example), rubbing and cudling with the other HG any chance she can, acting like a LC and trying to avoid her own issues. "RE: Jodi's A at BOR" The thing about SO that is so strange is that what we see is an edited, slanted version of what a group of women "did" at one point in time. Whether they were authentic or acting or playing, or manipulating....it gets crafted together into some form of a story line by the editing. Before my DVR broke yesterday, I went back and watched about 3 weeks of episodes focussing only on Jodie (ff through rest) because I felt she didn't become one bit different. The only thing that I noticed that could have possibly changed was that after the previous BOR the house mates had a discussion with Jodi about how she never shares what she and IV talk about, never lets them in on whatever "demons" IV wanted her to release. She always wanted to be the one giving support as if she were the expert who had nothing to work on herself. "RE: Jodi's A at BOR" I have to somewhat agree with you here, Shazbot, I felt that Christie was "whinning" the whole time and blaming Jodie when she could've stepped up to the plate and said "let me take a stab at that" to gain some experience at doing the repair jobs. I've noticed from day one that Christie always stands back and complains when she can't have her way...as if everyone is responsible for reading her mind ...instead of opening her mouth and saying what's on her mind. She's a "closet whinner" who hasn't the nerve to speak up so she goads others into action to obtain what she desires...granted Jodie is a "take charge type of person", but she would've stepped back had anyone challenged her position...she seemed very enthusiastic about the chore and boldly accepted the challenge of the exercise...at least she tried. They all allowed the exercise to transgress the way it did. Christie acts like a kid who never initiates a willingness to perform and then gets mad when someone else shines... then, had the nerve to tell Jodie she wouldn't be bossed around like that...hah, what a joke...she couldn't voice her issues and so Jodie's bossing her around????
