PLEASE NOTE: The Reality TV World Message Boards are filled with desperate
attention-seekers pretending to be one big happy PG/PG13-rated family. Don't
be fooled. Trying to get everyone to agree with you is like herding cats,
but intolerance for other viewpoints is NOT welcome and respect for other
posters IS required at all times. Jump in and play, and you'll soon find out
how easy it is to fit in, but save your drama for your mama. All members are

Ebert once said, "If you disagree with something I write, tell me so, argue
with me, correct me--but don't tell me to shut up. That's not the American way."

Poor Danny. I don't know how anyone can deal with the loss of a parent. So freakin sad.

Man, that's got to be rough. I felt so bad for Danny. Hope you're doing well too Dave. I lost my Dad almost 3 years ago and miss him very much.

Well, this is supposed to be a reality show, and reality comes in good doses, bad doses, and alot of stuff in between. Though this whole funeral mess with Danny seems like a gross invasion of his privacy, it is - unfortunately - part of his reality. Showing this part of his life, though difficult, is perhaps the most real that the show can get. It would certainly be odd - if not contradictory - if the show would air hours upon hours of drinking and clowning around, but refuse to show the one aspect of their four months together which is more real than any other. I'm sure MTV asked permission to film Danny at home and maybe at his mother's funeral, but I still think that these episodes showing grief and the gross unfainess of life is what this show was initially all about. Death and sadness are a part of life. Sugar coating it prepares us for nothing. If we are to watch reality shows, then we should be ready to deal with how crummy reality can sometimes be. Well, it's just my opinion. Thanks Vols and gang for saying nice things here about my late father.

I couldn't agree with you more and this is the stance that I have taken on a lot of the reality shows I watch. If the person agrees to be aired and show their life then things shouldn't be sugar coated to just show good stuff...there is bad stuff in life as well. JMHO!

I'm looking forward to this next episode. Tuesday night might be very sad, but it will be interesting to see how Danny copes with this tragedy. What I mean is, we increasingly get to see the RW casts partying, carrying on, hooking up, and doing things that are either goofy, unimportant or downright stupid. Now we are finally (FINALLY!) getting to see real life situations. Rather than seeing alot of mugging for camera time, we might see real people dealing with real life problems. And if Mel shirks her responsibility to help out Danny and be there for him in the clutch, well, that'll be pretty low. I just hope she doesn't go out and get plastered and hook up with someone else while Danny is home burying his mother. That would be pretty low.
