Think about it for a minute people. Do you really care if the "right guy" wins? Of course not! What you do care about is good TV and that is Robert! Think about it, forcing this girl to spend months with a guy she doesn't like and then letting him win! That's hilarious! Plus, you get to stick it to that arse Simon by making his new show a total joke! That's good TV! Robert MUST WIN!

I totally agree. I get even more pleasure with the idea or Robert sticking around week after week, knowing that it will bug the hell out of Laura. I like the guy, I find him extremely entertaining.

Robert is a joke. We are talking about someone's life. If he does make it to the end, it just shows what type of people are watching this show.

>We are talking about someone's life.

Someone dumb enough to come on a reality show and let American pick them a husband! She had to know coming into the thing that there was only about a 5% chance she was actually going to meet Mr. Right on this show. Trust me, she is fully prepared for America making the wrong decision. So why try and make the right decision? Make the show entertaining! KEEP ROBERT!

She did put him in her top ten. She deserves whatever she gets in the end. Anyone who believes that these types of shows actually end with a couple who lives happily ever after is in need of a serious reality check.

Well is this type of matching any worse than meeting someone over the internet, having your parents select your future mate, or meeting in the traditionl manner (with a 50% failure rate)?

I think it might actually work. Nothing else is doing much better. The real point is what you bring to the relationship, not how u met.

I agree with you! People meet in non-traditional ways all the time....sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't...it's totally going to depend on the people involved and whether they are involved for the right reasons. Trista and Ryan from the Bachelorette seem happy...so do Andrew and Jen....I think it can be done...but it IS totally dependent on the sincerity of those involved. Lisa seems sincere, that's why Simon chose her (he said she showed absolutely no show biz aspirations, she wants to do this, then go back to her normal life). Robert is a joke, and he's going to be kept around for a little while for that reason, but I think the majority of people watching and voting are not going to be so cynical about it....people love a happy ending.

I love HappyDayz because she says what I mean so well for me. The answer to your question, king0075 is Yes! I want a happy ending and that would be the most entertaining show for me.

Weird jerks like Robert are entertaining but not for long. I hope that most people do vote sincerely and I think Simon picked exactly the right girl to inspire a lot of sincere voting. If I thought Lisa was the least bit phony I wouldn't bother to vote at all, and just leave the decision in the hands of teenage malcontent misogynists all over America.

FWIW, I met my DH through a personal ad and we have had a very happy ending. It was the luck of the moment, and lucky moments can happen anywhere, anytime! (He answered my ad. We met in a bar near my work. He looked for my long hair & a blue skirt; I looked for his tallness & a mauve shirt. I said "Nice shoes, wanna date?" (not that other, related line, LOL) and we did.) We've been married for 20 years. So there.

Feeling all starry-eyed today.

Why, thank you Swami, I'll take that as a compliment! LOL We do seem to frequently agree about this show ~ possibly because we're both suckers for the Hank/Lisa romance

ITA that Simon could not have done a better job of finding the Cupid girl. If you take the time to listen to Lisa and get to know her, she seems to be an extremely likeable person. I know I care who she ends up with....I've been voting!

I totally agree with Happydaze and Swami - you speak the absolute truth. I too have met many wonderful friends through the net including my ex-husband. Although my marriage did not succeed, it was NOT because we met on the net. It failed for other reasons but we've remained friends because their was always complete honesty. That is what it takes for any relationship to succeed; no matter where you meet

There is no reason that Lisa can't succeed in finding her mate through this method provided that everyone involved is sincere. Those that are NOT sincere will be revealed soon enough - they always are. Robert is one of those and for those reasons he SHOULD be voted off. Why subject her to any grief that she doesn't deserve? So what if it makes for good television? After all is it not LISA's life and NOT the Networks life.

I'm with the happy ending group. I really do like Lisa, which is unusual for my cynical stuff. She is genuine, nice and I hope that she does find her true love...everyone deserves their chance, no matter what forum it is.

Those people voting for Robert are really starting to annoy me. The guy is ludicrous, a publicity hound and it is getting harder and harder to even watch him. He is not entertaining to me in the least, he is scum and it is annoying that people are voting for scum. He IS there for his 15 minutes of fame while I do believe, as said before, Lisa is really there for the true deal.

And I have to agree..we ARE talking about someone's life here. Someone actually has a chance to not only meet a life mate but to win a million dollars. And seeing Lisa with a couple of these guys, it might actually happen. If people are so jaded about reality shows that they need to vote for a loser like Robert, they should just change the channel and let the rest of us secretly soft hearted, wanna be Cinderellas, dream!

Debi

Well said! ICAM...let us dream. Lisa seems like a sweetheart, and I hope she does get what she wants from this. Robert may be funny, but he's so obviously acting that it is absurd. She has been very patient with his antics, but she shouldn't have to go through that every week.

Robert appeared as a male stripper on last night's episode of Girls Behaving Badly. His name was listed in the credits as "Special Appearance By". He is an actor. He may just be acting on Cupid. I read on this Board that he also appeared on an episode of Blind Date. If Lisa is serious, then Robert may not be the best choice for her.
