PsychoDoc 95 desperate attention whore postings DAW Level: "Hollywood Squares Square" 04-22-02, 10:12 PM (EST) "What does it mean when someone "flames" someone else?" Sounds stupid, I know. Although I have been lurking and have recently started posting, I've skipped/ignored posts where posters have conflicts that do not pertain to the show. So, until the last couple of days, I did not know any form of flaming other than if the post hit a certain number. Have read the shoulds and should nots. Just a little worried, 1.What does it mean when someone "flames" someone else? 2.Who gets flamed, other than the 2 examples shakes gave? 3.How would we know if we get flamed and if we would know if we are closed to offending, ie warnings? The little flaming symbol in front of a post has nothing to do with "flaming". When the icon starts burning, that means that it is a "hot topic"... which is defined as having 20 or more replies, and has nothing to do with flaming (ie: yelling at) other posters. Flames" Ok, I'm trying to understand...it sounds like there are no specific "flames" that appear when a poster is flamed. Just a term not an icon--is that correct?
