LAST EDITED ON 09-25-05 AT 03:00 PM (EST)Episode 2 has come and gone, and the results are in! This week in the...
...there were some interesting scores.
Nobody was eliminated, but some people came rather close. I had 4 non-entries from whoami, coolbluepig, Flowerpower, and esquire. In the case that they do not make an entry this week as well, they will be eliminated from the game.
Let's start digging in to the results, here.
This week's HIGHEST SCORER was kingfish for the second week in a row, scoring an outstanding 22 points. Our LOWEST SCORER was alwaysintruble1, with a score of -13. The BIGGEST JUMPERS were agressionx and taffnic, who both climbed up 7 spots. The BIGGEST PLUNGE was alwaysintruble1, falling down 13 spots, congrats!
Now for the leaderboard...

Just a reminder about scoring - If you stay in the negative (positive for RedInkers) for three weeks in a row, you are eliminated. This gives you two more weeks to get out of there. Also, if you get -15 (+15 for RedInkers) in one week, you will be eliminated in that case as well.
And, if you miss two entries in a row, you're out, as I mentioned at the top.
In terms of token usage, 6 people used theirs, and they were LibraRising, Kermit the Vixen, tribephyl, kingfish, CutsyTootsy, and alwaysintruble1. They all got an extra 12 points, or -12 for the RedInkers that used one. People that did not use their tokens all got -6, however...
Last week, there was a hidden message in the post. I put under the big headline "This Season's Big Twist Is:", in invisible ink, "If you do not use a token this week, you will get +3 points, -3 for RI'ers." So, for those of you that did not use a token, that helped cushion the blow somewhat from when the others used theirs. Note- That was only last week, it does not apply this time.
OK, moving on, here are the Pyramid Climb standings:
It is the player's name, the step they are currently on, and how many points they have on that step, not how many points are left to get to the next step.

B2. Will Brooke contribute to the winning of a challenge (e.g. score a point)?
B3. Will Brooke talk directly to Bobby Jon?
OK...now, I do have a little change in things here...
I'm letting RedInkers score on the questions they normally wouldn't be able to score negative points on (1, 2, 3, P). Here's how I'm changing those four questions:
RedInk Scoring
Question 1 -
(Points, # to be off by)
-1 --- ±5
-2 --- ±6
-3 --- ±7
-5 --- ±8
-8 --- ±9
-10 --- ±10
Question 2 -
Scored the same as Question 2 is for regular players, but you must go over, and you get no points for being under. It's kind of the reverse of what regular players get for this one. See the RedInk scoring section at the bottom if you're not completely sure of how this one works.
Question 3 -
(Points, # to be off by)
-5 --- ±4
-3 --- ±3
-1 --- ±2
Question P -
(Points, # to be off by)
-6 --- ±4
-8 --- ±5
-10 --- ±6
-20 --- ±7
Questions 4 and B1-B3 are all graded the same as in regular play.
There you have it, forls. Your deadline is Thursday at 7:59 PM EST.
Good luck!
Scoring
Question 1- 10 for ±0, 8 for ±1, 5 for ±2, 3 for ±3, 2 for ±4, 1 for ±5||Question 2- 20 if you have it right on, 15 points minus half a point for every word under you are, nothing if you go over||Question 3- 5 points for ±0, 3 for ±1, 1 for ±2||Question 4- (-1) point for every challenge you say they'll win that they don't. No points for saying that won't win a challenge that they do. (+2) points for every challenge you say they'll win and they do.||Question P- This stays the same for the duration of the game, if you get it right on, you get 20 points, off by one is 10 points, off by two is 8 points, and off by three is 6 points||BONUS QUESTIONS are always worth 4 pts. for correct, -2 pts. for incorrect unless stated otherwise. The superbonus is not applicable to any bonus questions that do not follow the standard bonus question scoring.||There is a (-3) Penalty for each mandatory question you do not answer, (+3) for RedInkers.
RedInk Scoring
Question 1 - (-1) for ±5, (-2) for ±6, (-3) for ±7, (-5) for ±8, (-8) for ±9, (-10) for ±10||Question 2- (-20) if you have it right on, (-15) points plus half a point for every word over you are, nothing if you go under||Question 3- (-5) points for ±4, (-3) points for ±3, (-1) points for ±2||Question P- (-6) for ±4, (-8) for ±5, (-10) for ±6, (-20) for ±7||Questions 4 and B1-B3 are all graded the same as in regular play.
Superbonus
For BONUS questions, you may choose to do the "Superbonus"- place a 'SB(x2)' or 'SB(x3)' next to the question, your choice. If you answer a question incorrectly and you've gone for the superbonus, you get either a (-4) or a (-6) for getting it wrong, (-6) for choosing the x2 and (-8) for choosing the x3. By choosing the x2, you get 6 points for every bonus you answer correctly, and in choosing the x3, you get 8 points for every one you answer incorrectly, but keep the penalties in mind.
Tokens
Each player is alotted 2 tokens at the beginning of the game. If you use a token, you move everybody else's score closer to zero by one point, while you gain however many points you adjusted in total. By Climbing your Pyramid (see next section), you can earn yourself more tokens.
Climbing the Pyramid
For every 15 points you get (disincluding points received from using your token), you climb one step on your pyramid, which has three steps to get to the top. Any points "left over" after the 15 go towards your next step. If, however, you have 10 or more points left over, you will climb two steps instead. If you climb two steps because of this, you do not get the left over from the left over towards your third step-you must begin the third step at zero. Once you complete the third step, you receive one more token. You then start again at Step 1 with zero points.
