He threw out some tough questions, and brought in what he was thinking while the show was being played. I like the way Jeff handles the group--I hope they do it this way for S6.   Top

"RE: I Love Jeff Probst" The reunion show was ok....nothing special, although the whole season turned into a Pagonging disaster because of the non-merge. The Ted/Ghandia incident ended up getting blown out of proportion, and wasted a good bit of show time on that. Jeff did a horrible job of recognizing the first six or seven bootees, even Gumball talked to them more.....although I am glad we'll never see Gumball on CBS again. There has to be a better host out there somewhere, but CBS hasn't found one yet. I get sick of hearing the same big stories all season. However, I was glad Jeff touched on the death of Tanya's father, we hadn't really heard anything more about it, because before the airing of the show, it was big news to us, because we assumed she'd go further than she did. Anyways, Jeff was a little too direct and made it more like Gumball....but I don't think we will find a better host anytime soon, so they better just let Jeff host it for the duration..... 2002 NFC North Champs   Top

"Could've been better" LAST EDITED ON 12-20-02 AT 06:31 AM (EST) I agree -- I wasn't a fan of Gumball, but I thought JP was a little bit TOO probing and to "into" the game questions. I'd have loved to have seen more of the contestants' audition tapes (they only showed Steph's), and a bit more of how the game affected the players upon coming home (like the tape of Big Tom's goats (or was it sheep), named after other contestants). Instead, JP asked gameplaying questions which, while interesting, only rehashed a lot of what we knew... and WAY too much time was taken up on Ted/Ghandia. Contradictions don't exist. I wish the season would have been as interesting. The finale episode was a dud in my opinion. I thought for sure though that questions about Brian's porn past would have been brought up, or his estrangement with his wife, but I guess that wass just too "tough" of questions for CBS to allow. Jeff was really awesome though.   Top

"Agree" I kinda wished that they made the reunion 2 hours and wasted 1 hour on the Final 4, even though it would have been rushed. Random Ramblings -I can't believe Clay got that third vote. When I saw it, I thought "Clay???" -I liked how Jeff was ribbing the contestants. Gumball always seemed a little too polite and didn't want to step on anyone's toes. I was annoyed though, at how little some people talked (John, for example) -Robb's moment was pretty nice, about his father. -Steffy is WILD!!! I wonder what would've happened if she was on porno-Brian's tribe... -For some reason, I like Erin and Penny (mostly Erin) more because of their interviews. Penny, because I thought it was nice to see the Clay/Penny dynamic. It made me appreciate Clay a little. Quotes of the week 1. "You will NOT see my ta-ta's" -Shii Ann 2. "Do they think I'm too controlling?" -Helen (um, yeah) 3. "My two year old (had a tantrum) one time and I whupped its @$$ and put it back to bed." -Clay 4. I thought the first two hours ended nicely, with some great jury potshots, and then Jeffy took over and asked good, meaningful questions. I'd say the only weakness was the Ted/Ghandia rehash, which I couldn't have cared less about, but I think they just wanted to explore the spousal reactions for the National Enquirer. Jeff did a great job and was by FAR the best host yet. It was all about the game and the players with no Gumball smugness and condescension and no Rosie it's-all-about-ME act. The Tanya follow up was nicely done, and to be honest, I didn't really care what Father John had to say, so I'm not affected by his near ommission. They covered the highlights of the game and explored what was in people's heads and that is what was important. On to the Amazon!   Top

Jeff is by far the best host. He should have always been the one to do it. I think with the show being live he just ran out of time. I am sure it is difficult to ask the tough questions and Brian just himhaws around. There were a few in this cast that I really liked, however, this season is up there with Africa. Once again, the women played stupid and trusted to easily. Helen should have done what was best for her. But she left the game with more integrity and respect than Brian. That must feel good. "foolish mujeres" I have to chime in that these women were foolish and trusting and not real players. Helen could have been,but she seemed to aggressively suppress her naturally intelligent instincts in order to play her "loyal soldier" role to the end. I didn't expect much from Jan, but Helen was very disappointing. On the other end, Penny and Shii Ann were both wily and manipulative, but their mutual antipathy ended up doing both of them in. None of these women, not even Shii, are anywhere near Kathy, Vecepia, Neleh or Tammy from last season. Africa at least had T-Bird and Kelly G, who made noble, if futile, efforts. S2 had Tina and Alicia, S1 was a little weaker on the female player side, but there was Kelly W. Ultimately, there isn't one single woman on Thailand who I feel played the game well. Very disappointing.   Top

This was easily the best reunion show ever. Too bad it followed the worst season ever. The only thing I was left wondering was, what did Brian tell Ken regarding Ted and the F2? I wish Jeff had asked Ken that question. He obviously felt like Brian was lying at TC with his "that's between him and...God" remark. Other than that, I couldn't have asked for more. Fester   Top

I loved Jeff last night! He was an awesome host. He knows the players, he knew what was going on behind the scenes and he is opinionated and isn't afraid to make smart-alecky comments. He was pretty brutal and I loved it. Jeff Probst deserves the million (on top of the ? million he makes per series LOL)   Top

She said her mother phoned and told her that her father had....and then her voice trailed off while they put up his picture. I remember after my father died I couldn't say those three words together --"my" "father" and "died" -- for a long time without losing it. I felt really bad for Tanya last night. As for Jiffy, he is just the cutest thing, and I'm just now coming to that realization. It's like the guy you've been friends with all through high school suddenly becomes very attractive and you just gotta have him all of a sudden. ;) I watched Julie Chen give Jiffy kudos on the cbs.com video of the Morning Show and he was all "aw, shucks."
