Bebo 21083 desperate attention whore postings DAW Level: "Playboy Centerfold" 10-31-03, 11:23 AM (EST) "Lvoe a writer today" *hearts* to all the souls who were willing to put themselves out there for the Graffiti Sprawl. And for those of you who missed the fun, join us next time. You'll be glad you did. But now, we have a small group of folks who are going to need some extra lvoe to get through the coming month. These brave souls (well, I guess brave is one word for it) have signed on to write a 50,000 word novel from scratch during the month of November. These marathon wordsmiths have been training vigorously for this event. Between outlines, character sketches, and maybe even a game of Scrabble, we have a hard core group determined not to osten. They may panic, they may require large quantities of caffeine, they may get quite cranky, but they will survive. So cheer on the gang preparing for NaNoWriMo (that's National Novel Writing Month) and spread the lvoe! We really do have guidelines here. Believe it or not, the Guidelines make things more fun. I'm trying something totally new for me and I'm really excited to try. If I even get close I will be thrilled to death. Considering I abandoned my last effort 35K words, two years in and not even half way done, this will be a small miracle. But it's not just me: Bebo, Sherps, Wheezy and cq are giving it a shot. I may be forgetting someone too - you can yell at me if I did. Farm Boy are you in? We're all going forth like hopeful little lambs to the slaughter!   Top

The osten has been removed from the end of your pencil to keep you from quitting. You must committ!!! I loved all the stories from the sprawl. It was great fun and definetly worth participating in. Go read some stories and see how brilliant these peeps are! 50,000 words!! That's like 1700 words per day! "Just a thought" If you were to tell a story to someone for 15 minutes <at the rate of about 30 words a minute> you would have a 1/4 of your daily quota. I don't know abotu you, but I'm feeling bullet proof right now! I was kind of bummed at not being able to work on the novel I'm already writing, but honestly, it's so serious and has different narrators and in the third person which is uber hard for me. But this one - it's as substantive as cotton candy! Everyone gets to have sex, no one has to die, and you totally don't have to think about issues or anything! I'm so stoked! This is a very liberating way to write! I just completely shut off all those "this is stupid" voices and go with it! We rock!!! It's ot too late to sign up folks. nanowrimo kicks ass. This is the most frivolous, shallow, chick-lit-ish thing I've ever written. Woohoo!!!   Top

There is no time, and no reason, for excuses. You have just as much talent as anyone else, why not use it for a change? You might find it helpful to join a writing group or sign up for a one-day painting workshop, if only to help you get started and stay motivated. Join a support group for struggling artists.
