PLEASE NOTE: The Reality TV World Message Boards are filled with desperate
attention-seekers pretending to be one big happy PG/PG13-rated family. Don't
be fooled. Trying to get everyone to agree with you is like herding cats,
but intolerance for other viewpoints is NOT welcome and respect for other
posters IS required at all times. Jump in and play, and you'll soon find out
how easy it is to fit in, but save your drama for your mama. All members are
encouraged to read the
complete guidelines.
As entertainment critic Roger
Ebert once said, "If you disagree with something I write, tell me so, argue
with me, correct me--but don't tell me to shut up. That's not the American way."

"How did you discover RTVW?" |
LAST EDITED ON 02-09-11 AT 00:24 AM (EST)I discovered RTVW in 2003 when I was surfing the web to find out who was going to be on Survivor All Stars. I'm a big fan of Colby Donaldson and I was anxious to find out if he was going to be on the All Star version. I found the message boards shortly there after and began post on the Survivor Board and American Idol. Someone, I think it was Bravie, invited me to OT in 2004. I went MIA for a while but now I'm back. Thank goodness for OT. One of the happiest places on earth! edited to fix spelling

It was the year 2000, and I surfed the net looking for Survivor sites. I found the summaries of the first season, and they were hilarious, so I kept reading. I did not discover the message boards until season 2, and then my first post was in Survivor Fanatics. I spent a lot of time on S Bashers, until I found that OT was a great place to play. I don't even watch Survivor anymore. Go figure! Mermaid in the Drink, Silvergirl original 2011 "It wasn't directed at any single individual. It was meant as an all-encompassing rudeness." - Estee, 01-31-11

Very similar to Silvergirl – I scanned the net looking for more information on Survivor during it’s first season and found Survivor Blows. I think I posted one time during S1 and promptly got flamed by Shakes. Sometime later, when I started to lurk regularly with an occasional post, someone said something about “donations” for the Board, and information for that was found in OT – whatever that was. I finally found it and have hung out ever since… slowly making my way to the big “3k”.

I think he's stuck on Paradise Island.Or what was the name of that show where “contestants” went to some island and got chocolate gold coins and stayed “forever” if they had enough coins.

My first post is in TAR 7 Fanatics Love List thread on 3/9/2005.Back then I was living in Malaysia and was searching for a few sites on the Amazing Race and stumbled on a link the RTVW forum. I lurked for quite a while beginning in Season 6 and finally posted an entry on the Love List 7.2 thresd. I found OT simply by trying out the 'Off Topic' link more out of curiosity than anything else. I lurked here for quite a while too before deciding to post. Back then, some discussions (political discussions, in particular!) were rather heated and I decided just to read what was posted for quite a while. Well, the rest is history! I never in my wildest dreams ever expected to go over 10,000 posts.

Much the same except I started in TAR 5 and had a bit of a sabbatical when my computer decided to overheat and die.OT I blame Seana maybe because she responded kindly to my first post. Lovely cheese Mooney Just another Sleeperbloke Got into TAR with the first series, however the TV company that was providing me the service went bust so I never saw the end, then somehow TAR got tied in with UK Big Brother during TAR V, I was hooked and looked for more info and fell in lvoe with all the wonderful summarisers we used to have (still laugh whenever I see a blue taxi)

6. "RE: How did you discover RTVW?" |
I discovered RTVW when I was looking for the Lost Temple of Oaxoa in the jungles of Central America. I felt something slither across my leg. When I looked down, I realized it was a website. I was more intrigued than disgusted, really. So I incapacitated it with a quick blow from the butt end of my machete and took it home for more study. I found that no matter how I poked or prodded it, RTVW would do whatever the heck it wanted, completely obvlivious to my wants and desires. The last thing I needed was something that didn't gratify me fully, so I decided to get rid of it. I released it back into the wild, but it kept showing up on my doorstep at the least opportune moments, sometimes purring seductively, sometimes bringing me flowers, but all too often purposely peeing on my boot. I have since filed a restraining order, but RTVW stays just beyond the court-appointed boundry of 500 feet and continues to flash me it's naughty parts. I hate myself for loving it. Agman made this fancy sig for me

So as I recently mentioned, I’ve been lurking for around 10 years. I discovered RTVW from that other “mean” site. Someone mentioned it and I came over to read Survivor Spoilers. I found the ambiance here to exceedingly surpass that “other” site so I’ve been here ever since.I had to go look and my first post was in SS in 09-2003 after I gathered up the nerve to post. My first post in OT was 06-2005. It was fun looking at some of those old posts. Thanks for bringing back some fond memories. There are plenty of businesses like show business

I was on another discussion board - where a bully pretty well took over the Survivor & TAR boards; so I went a goggling & found RTVW!I think I started posting on Survivor Fanatics first. I found a post dated 9/12/2006. I saw comments here and there about 'another place' (OT) and was invited over here (can't find those posts to see who is to blame). As far as I can find, the first thread I started in OT was on 2/12/2007 NUISANCE PHONE CALLS. I got my first Red Wavy 2/15/2007 when the great master himself - Rollddice - sent me my first sigpic. Shivering in the cold - Agman 2010 Since you've been mia for awhile, you don't have to wear the lime helmet - but we have done this now & then. I even started myself a happy anniversary thread once!

I had been a casual Survivor fan until I got a new job in 2002. There, people were playing a game based on Survivor. The season had already started so I couldn't join but I "knew" Brian would win. I joined their game the following season but when I saw someone had picked Jenna to win all along, I figured something wasn't right. I started googling to find out how he had done it. I found this site, learned about spoilers and lurked until Vanuatu. (I did win the Pearl Island game!)I'm not sure how I got to the OT, probably at a slow time during Survivor's off-season but I've always enjoyed it.

I came here during the first season of The Apprentice. I was posting on another chat site but the others there were fanatic Kwame supporters and I wasn't. So I did a search and found this place where there seemed more diversity of opinion than just a thousand posts of "Kwame is sooooo HOT - I want to marry him". A WARNING led me over to OT, the first and only warning I ever received, The blue peep who gave it to me suggested OT was the arena to discuss what I had brought up. Capn2patch put me in motion!

LAST EDITED ON 02-10-11 AT 09:11 AM (EST)The first season of The Apprentice is what brought me here too. The morning DJ on my local radio station interviewed Donald Trump and he let something slip that I thought revealed the winner. Trump backtracked on the comment but I was curious about spoiler information. A search brought me to RTVW. RTVW was a paradise for me because I was also watching AI and Survivor (and I think ANTM at the time). I think greenmonstah is responsible for dragging me to OT. And back then OT moved at the speed of light. It wasn't unusual for a day's worth of topics to be over a page long and for all the thresds to be flaming. It was intimidating - to say the least. It was intimidating - to say the least. It took me a couple of years to muster up the courage to venture into OT. The first time I checked it out, all I saw was pages of threads with people making rude remarks and passing around inside jokes that I didn't understand. It was much safer to hang out in the TAR forums. This post requires a retro siggie from 2005.

I had to go back to my Inbox to remember when I first posted on RWTW - 2005. I lurked for at least a year before I summoned up the courage to post. I *think* I first found RWTW searching for spoiler info for Survivor - the first season with Rupert maybe? Jeez, between the getting-old thing and being away from OT for such a long time, my memory is shot!I do remember my first post was in an OT thread, commenting about Cheez Whiz. (mmm, Cheez Whiz.) My first posts were an inadvertent thread-jack. I wasn't even familiar with the term, at the time. Ha! I've been cap'n'd Reading the old Shakes threads reminded me of so many posters whose words I enjoyed so much, who inspired me to join so I could be part of the fun.

It was the summer of 2003. I had missed an episode of Big Brother and was looking to find out what had happened. Google brought up Sir Links a Lot, and RTVW was one of the links provided. I got the info I needed, but kept coming back. For some odd reason (because I wasn't even watching the show at the time - because I draw the line somewhere, ya know), I started reading the Paradise Hotel boards. I blame the posters at that time for me starting to watch that horrible show because I knew, JUST KNEW, there was no way the cast could be as horrible and ridiculous as the posters made them out to be (turns out they were that bad). My first post was on that board in September. I then migrated to American Idol (don't remember actually posting anything, though) and kept seeing mention of this place called "OT". Finally figured out what OT stood for, clicked the link for Off Topic, and have wasted lots of time ever since.Found my way to the bar (which I totally miss). Those were some good times.

I found Survivor Blows during the first season of Survivor 2000. I stayed on the Survivor boards, barely noticing that the site was growing. One night in '05, I think, I went into chat because I was sad and didn't want to mope. Ice, Pepe, Arkie, Friskee and Deerhunter were there (don't know if anyone else was). They all stopped talking and stared at me. Then Ice and Pepe said they knew who I was from Survivor. Arkie gave me a drink and later told me about this odd place called OT. I still don't post here much, but try to show up regularly. Surfkitten Summer Sigshop 2008
