Have you ever found yourself bored with a movie, novel, or television show to the point where you went to Wikipedia to see how the story ended?

There's a moral here. Really.

LAST EDITED ON 06-03-09 AT 07:58 AM (EST)

I'm bored with my life.

*goes off to check Wikipedia*

Nope, no ending there. Guess I have to wait to see how it turns out.

Entropy increases. Heat vanishes. All motion stops. Game Over.

Insert four credits to continue.

Wait just a second for a minute here -- I've got an idea!

Howsabout I go on wicked-pedia and change the ending to some boring story to make it wicked?

... the hare totally freaked out when he saw the tortoise cross the finish line ahead of him, pulled out his .357 magnum and blasted the aforementioned tortoise, along with the judges and flag-waving fans (including his own devoted supporters) into thousands of bloody, unrecognizable bits. Moments later, the local SWAT team arrived and reciprocated in kind, leaving nothing but two or three insignificant bits of tail fluff drifting slowing to the ground.

It could happen...

Actually, that's a good idea.

A Sharnina Production

Wiki is already full of fiction.

Yes. For example, just recently when my daughter bugged me into watching The Golden Compass on cable with her. Zzzzzzzzzzzz.

That's part of the reason that I post plots on Wikipedia from time to time: to help other people the same way that someone helped me.

Any. It even counts if you looked up the ending of a radio play. (How did you find a radio play, anyway?)

Of course I have, but I was asking which movie/novel/tv show/radio play you had to check that caused you to start this thread.

I used your advice yesterday. I was at my son's school to watch a play. Much Ado About Nothing. The play was done outside, and the sound system was not very good, so I was having a really hard time hearing. Given that it is Shakespeare, even if I could hear it might be tough to follow. At the intermission I went onto wiki from my bberry and read up on the story. That made the second act much more enjoyable.

I occasionally go to Wikipedia after a movie or a TV show to check the credits, usually because I've seen a minor cast member that arouses curiosity for some reason.

In theaters, if I'm with someone with patience, I'll stay thru the credits. On TV, I can almost never catch the credits when they roll these days because of the speed and the way the stations compress the images in order to advertise coming events.

I like IMDB.com for checking credits for the same reason you do. I'll see someone and say, "Who is that? What else have I seen hir in?" My husband is not patient when it comes to watching credits.

IMDB is cool because you can see an entire film's cast and when you click on an actor, you will see hir entire film/TV resume. I can get lost in that website for hours if I'm not careful.

a berry nice sigpic from agman

I also get lost in imdb, and often use it when watching movies on TV to check actor names.
