Free ships or $236 million dollar ships:Senators ask why U.S. paying when free ships offered Listing to Tom Delay on the Sunday talk shows saying that there is nothing to cut in DC...all the pork is cut out of the budget already. $40 Billion to rebuild LA with state controls and waive all environmental controls. Ahhh...if you followed some environmental controls, i.e. save or restore the wetlands at the Mississippi delta, you might have not had such a big storm surge and I don't want to hand anyone a blank check ever again. We've seen what happens there and can we get the tailers set up for people so they can get out of hotels and centers first. Louisiana Lawmakers Propose $40 Billion for levees All these companies declaring bankruptcy so they can get out of their pension plans and payments and then those people get maybe 50% of what they had from the government pension plan. Government spending and spending and spending....W is worst then LBJ. W like LBJ Then all the crap happing here in Detroit and their budget. $750,000 on a tank when your $136 M in the red....makes sense to me.

A few hundred million spent on projects to bolster the levee system and restore the wetlands, or at least halt the decline which results in the loss of some 25 square miles anually, would have been money well spent. Now, because it wasn't spent, they're talking about spending a few hundred billion in recovery costs. Everyone should remember this next year on election day. ARRRRRRR!!!!
