"TV Guide Channel show about Reality TV"
LAST EDITED ON 06-14-05 AT 10:10 AM (EST)

For those who missed it, TV Guide Channel aired a show titled "25 Things You Didn't Know About Reality TV".

The little known TAR facts mentioned were:

There is a rule that states the racers must always stay within 20 feet of their camera crew.

The crew total for one race totaled 2,104 people worldwide.

The money given at the start of each leg is actually calculated by the staff to get the racers from point to point. Sometimes they don't need all the money, and racers have been known to be very thrifty (read that as cheap).

Phil does not always get automatic upgrades on the planes, and often has to fly coach.

TAR plays tricks on the racers by padding the clue box with envelopes (either adding or removing envelopes when the racers arrive) just to throw them off.

"Sequesterville" is a wonderful place. Lynn and Alex said that losing was not so bad. Patrick was thrilled that they gave them 25 board games to pass the time.

Oh yeah, Phil always gives the racers arriving at the pitstop mat his best "stone faced" stare, just so they won't know their finish order before hand. Phil said nothing about the deadly "eyebrow lift", however.

I saw that, too, and was glad they aired that. I just wish they had've stayed with each show separatly, rather than jumping around so much, and of course, I wanted to know more. Sept. can't come soon enough for me! If I'm not mistaken this is the first summer since Reality TV started that there isn't either TAR or Survivor airing, and it's driving me nuts.

Yea, it's a bummer going without TAR for so long. Seeing I don't have the Game Show Network on my cable, I won't even be able to watch TAR1 thru 6 this summer.

I hear some TAR addicts will be spending their summer over at the Big Brother Forum. It's not TAR, but it does air 3 episodes a week. Just the thing to waste away the summer months.

Does anyone know if this show will be replayed?

Or is there somewhere I can download it?

I think I heard that additional info (regarding reality TV) was available on their web site http://www.tvguide.com

Haven't seen any reliable schedule of the TV Guide Channel shows (as it's usually squeezed above the channel guide crawl on my cable system). Haven't seen any ads for a repeat showing either.
