"Harry Potter final book title" |
LAST EDITED ON 12-21-06 AT 12:22 PM (EST)If you go to http://www.jkrowling.com, click on the eraser and you will be taken to a room -- you'll see a window, a door and a mirror. In the mirror, you'll see a hallway. Click on the farthest doorknob and look for the Christmas tree. Then click on the center of the door next to the mirror and a wreath appears. Then click on the top of the mirror and you'll see a garland. Look for a cobweb next to the door. Click on it, and it will disappear. Now, look at the chimes in the window. Click on the second chime to the right, and hold it down. The chime will turn into the key, which opens the door. Click on the wrapped gift behind the door, then click on it again and figure out the title yourself by playing a game of hangman. Or.. you could just look for the hidden text here -->Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows

We can't wait for the final installment. It will be so sad to see the series go though. I do hope she doesn't kill off Harry at the end but only time will tell.

Yes, but isn't it so much better to go out with a definitive end (I hope) rather than stretch it out and milk it for every last penny by churning out pointless sequels?I wish more TV series were able to do this. Think how much better things like Lost and Heroes would be if they actually had a beginning, middle and (planned) end. Most of the time, I can't be bothered watching these shows even though when I do catch an episode, I really enjoy it. I just find it too much effort to try and keep up with all the plot lines when I know deep down that it's never really going to end. Well, change that to -never going to end until it's much too far beyond it's prime-. Gripe, grumble, gripe.

Why not? She already turned him into a big ol' pvssy in the last one.Actually, I liked the crisis of conscience when Draco was physically able -- but mentally unwilling -- to kill Dumbledore. He pulled off a clever trick to get in that position by using the Room of Requirement, with polyjuiced-versions of his cronies standing guard out front, so it wasn't like Rowling made him incompetent (as she had before); in book 6, he came off as very competent but insufficiently evil. We've seen pure evil in Voldemort, Barty Crouch Jr. and Bellatrix Lestrange. As Dumbledore himself said, Draco doesn't belong with them.

10. "Grrr..." |
LAST EDITED ON 12-21-06 AT 06:54 PM (EST)Just got Email from Borders, confirming the new title and asking if I wanted to be put on a list for additional news. (Like that's necessary: as soon as order status goes green, they'll send out about sixty million of the things.) But the title is on a picture of mostly-blurred text... Here's what I was able to make out, including word fragments: 'bef...' 'was I who...' '...len the real' 'to destroy it' 'face death' 'that when you meet' '...nate, you will' 'once more' From Book Six? Some of that looks familiar. But... Hmph. Looks like lots of people like to tease with possible spoilers.

LAST EDITED ON 12-22-06 AT 11:44 AM (EST)I just hacked the Warty.hog servers and can fill in the missing text. The complete blurb is as follows: In a before-quel chapter of Deathly Hallows, the adventure continues as Voldemort reveals: Yes, Luke Harry, I am your Father, it was I who snaked into your Mom’s bed at the Deathly Hallows Truck Stop and began your begatting. It was dark, and your Mom was passed-out drunk. And I used to be quite the passed-out drunk ladies man, you see. Will this warp Harry’s psyche? Will he be able to return pollen the real father deposited without winking out of existence? Will Rowlings herself enter the world of magic so as to destroy it, or will Hogwarts and the Hogwartian inhabitants, including a pleasantly developing and ever tempting and surely to be of legal age soon, Hermione, assist him and allow him to face death and save the Hogwarter world again. You will learn that when you meet the spooky Zombies and toad-people of the seventh Harry Pottuh adventure By now, every one knows that when dealing with Voldemort , Mister evil incarnate, you will not know your fate till you read the last chapter, so, once more, you have to pony up for a book from the No Discount Shelf at Barnes and Nobel to find out if Harry gets his just deserts, or if Voldemort , abetted by that rat Draco Malfoy and his evil bovine henchmen, trick him into breaking his wand.

Being a Harry Potter junkie I frequent mugglenet.com and they keep us very well informed on everything Harry Potter. (that is where I found out the title) Everyone is speculating on a release date. Many have thought it will be 7/7/07 but many think that is unlikely because it is too close to the 7/15 release of movie #5. And also because it is the 2nd anniversary of the bombings in London. JK Rowling has not indicated that she is close to finishing, although she has said she is making good progress. Some are speculating on a Sept. 1 release as that is the first day of school at Hogwarts. Others are speculating Oct. 31 since that is the day that Harry's parents were killed. Others speculate on July 31 since that is Harry's (and Jo's) birthday, but most say it would still conflict with the movie release.Interesting to ponder. But is it harder to wait now that we know the title? dressed up for the holidays by Tribe

...how would the book release conflict with the movie release? Wouldn't they build on each other, especially if the book was released a couple of weeks after the movie? People waiting for the book would be psyched up to go see the movie, yes?

Yeah, that's true. But you have the movie industry competing (so to speak) with the book industry. I would imagine they would want their own time in the spotlight. Or at least that's the speculation. As I said, it's just speculation. For me, I would love it sooner, but I'm willing to wait for her masterpiece. (only to devour it in less than 24 hours!) dressed up for the holidays by Tribe
