Das Mole 2366 desperate attention whore postings DAW Level: "Seventeen Magazine Model" 02-24-07, 09:10 PM (EST) "S14 PQM - Week 4 Bonus - Poetry Slam" LAST EDITED ON 02-25-07 AT 03:30 PM (EST) Come one, come all (assuming you're in the PQM, of course :-P) to the 5th Seasonal PQM Poetry Slam! In this bonus, there will be 4 areas for you to compete in. You can choose 2 of them. If you choose less, that's fine by me. If you choose more than 2, I'll pick your two best. There will be two winners in each division. Prizes vary. I'll be giving different posts for each division. PLEASE REPLY TO THE SEPARATE DIVISION POSTS WITH YOUR POEMS. A few tips/hints/guidelines/etc.: - You don't need to be super-spectacular at poetry for any of these. - I enjoy reading more of the funny/witty/sarcastic ones. Make it entertaining. - Be sure to follow the basic structure. E.G., if you do a haiku be sure it has the right amount of syllables. - All poems should be related to Survivor. - The more ridiculous, egregious, and outrageous (and also salacious), the better. - Have fun with it! Here they are: DIVISION I - Short Haiku Write me a haiku. First and third lines are 3 syllables. Second line is 5 syllables. It doesn't need to rhyme. Winner: 10 points Runner-up: 8 points Write a short haiku DIVISION II - Long Haiku Write me a haiku. First and third lines are 5 syllables. Second line is 7 syllables. It doesn't need to rhyme. Winner: 15 points Runner-up: 12 points Write a long haiku DIVISION III - Quickie Rhyme Write me a little 4-liner poem, with a rhyme scheme (Either AABB or ABAB). Winner: 20 points Runner-up: 15 points Write a quickie rhyme DIVISION IV - Free Verse Freestyle! Should be 8 lines long. Doesn't need to rhyme or anything. Winner: 20 points Runner-up: 15 points Write a free verse poem DAS.   Top
