"Predictions?" |
LAST EDITED ON 08-15-07 AT 01:13 PM (EST)Hi All - I have to say - this season of AGT was much better than the first season. Except for Julienne, i think the top four spots are perfect. Now, lets get some predictions. Terry Fator has definately impressed me, as I believe he has impressed everyone, but i'm not predicting him as the winner. Yes, he's the best ventriloquist I've seen but as I do with Idol, i have to go with my gut and stick with who grabbed me the most back in the audition phases. I predict the winner of AGT season 2 will be Cas Haley. This guy has it all - originality, talent, charisma, a great back story, and a truckload of humbleness. Your thoughts? geekboy I love puppies! Hard to say. Butterscotch could very well pull it off, too. That beat-boxing stuff is a big thing these days, and she does it well!Really like the ventriolquist, but have never seen one win a competition, except on Miss America, years ago. It'll be interesting to see. I think it's going to be a really close one. How can you dismiss those sparkly eyes of that young girl, too?

I agree with Piers re: Julienne - she's not ready. I also think Butterscotch has "something" but it needs some refinement. I think she's good, but the praise she's gotten was overdone. Her vocals are not perfect, her rendition of "What's Going On" was week in my opinion. I do believe its a battle between Cas and Terry.I've got a good track record at picking winners for Idol early on. I picked Kelly, Fantasia and Taylor from the auditions, and Clay and Bo the other years who came in 2nd. My only terrible prediction year was this past one, and I'm throwing that one out because I can. Cas grabbed me right away and i'm sure i'm not alone. I'm sticking with that prediction. geekboy I love puppies! S. Cowell

Hey gb! I'm in complete agreement with you about the top two. I mean, I love Butterscotch and am in total amazement of what she does, but you're right, her singing is a bit flat and nasal. What makes her stand out, though, is how multi-faceted she is. That is also what makes Terry Fator stand out to me. He's a great singer, impersonator, humorist, as well as a ventriloquist. For that reason, I'm thinking he has an edge on Cas. That said, though, I'd pay money to see either one perform, and expect to see Terry Fator in Vegas very soon! But, yes, MUCH better season this year than last.

Put me in the Terry Fator camp. Not being a true singer may keep him from winning, but I think he's the most talented of the final four. He's the one I'd pay to see as a headliner, that's for sure.Cas has a nice voice and is fun to watch, but he's the second most talented. Julienne has potential but isn't there yet. Butterscotch is quirky and entertaining but that's about it.

I'll be happy whoever wins, though I think Julienne should not. She's the big spoiler in the final four because she has an edge in the sentimental background stuff. She could hurt Cas Haley's chances since they're head-to-head for the country singer voters, and she might hurt Butterscotch's chances among younger voters.

LAST EDITED ON 08-20-07 AT 01:02 PM (EST)First off the crowd pleaser will not win becuase there is a clause in the contract that says the AGT producers can change the finalists at will and without explaining. We may never know who really got voted to the final 4. If anyone here has seen the Star Magazine for Aug 27 (the newest) it has an aticle in it that states the 4 finalists are Fator, the glamazons, sideswipe and Pritchett. Oh well he is better off not winning anyway and I pity whoever DOES win becuase there is some other things in that contract. 1. the 1 mil is paid out over 40,,,yes 40 years. 2. NBC and Simon Cowell own the image and rights to the winner for 4 years.

Welcome aboard. I've not seen the Star article so I'll just have to take your word for it. No one's really trying to spoil this show online, it would be pointless, so I can't understand why Star would want to rush something into print that wouldn't be set until the live reveal on tv.40 years! Seriously? I don't doubt your word, if you read it you read it, but it strikes me that Star needs to hire a fact checker. The contractual stuff giving the production company (Simon et al) certain rights over the contestants (where they can appear on national TV over the next few years and so on) is a fairly common reality show contract thingie from what I understand. Anyway, like I said, welcome aboard.

Who should win? There's no question about it - Terry Fator. The talent that he has is absolutely out-of-this-world. Anyone could theoretically do what Cas Haley, Butterscotch, or Julienne Irwin do. Cas Haley and Julienne Irwin sing. Big whoop; lots of people sing. Frankly, I don't think either one's that great. Butterscotch is a great beatboxer and pianist, but she mumbles when she sings. She'd be better as a duet with a good singer. If Terry Fator loses...well, America made the wrong decision.

Terry Fator should win, since he's the only one who has anything really different. All the others are just pretty good singers, but he ROCKS. If he doesn't win, then I'm gonna freak out.
