I liked their whole routine. ETA: But to specify, I thought it was cool how they all started off in their snazzy suits and in different places around the stage and seating area. Then it was funny that they pointed out their change in costume to the judges, as Piers had not liked their jeans/white t-shirt look, and then tore off the suits to reveal army pants/black t-shirt. I haven't voted in this thing before, and probably (read: can guarantee) won't again. But, the first or second year on AI I voted once or twice for someone and the message you received when the vote was recorded was actually recorded by th eperson you voted for. I was curious... I cast a vote for Leonid. I think he's hilarious (and talented in what he does - I'd go to his show), and I wanted to know what his message was going to be for someone that voted for him. I was disappointed. It was a recorded message from some unknown entity thanking me and recording my vote for #10. I did think Piers was off-base with Quick Change. They're right. It's a unique act and no matter how many times I've seen it I still can't figure out how they're doing it. I'd go to their show, too. I'm not sure how he wants them to change it up. (Although, I'll admit. Their "show" would have to include someone/something else, too. I couldn't see them pulling off even a 1/2 hr. show on their own. Now, Leonid? He could pull off at least that amount of time by himself. If nothing else you'd be wondering just how much more outrageous he could be. ) I wonder if they wouldn't have been better off not allowing singing/dancing/standard-instrument-music acts. All of them have other venues. I'm hoping the magician or Quick Change makes it through. I think the magician has more variety to his act and could probably go fa=rther with it, but the quick change is just amazing. They only have one garment. Every time she walks into the red banner, she changes to the black and white polka dot dress, then into the red dress, then the confetti...etc. They are a one trick pony, a novelty act that's interesting the first time you see it, but nothing close to the other talent in this show. The guy makes the point that singers always sing songs, but dude, they don't sing the same song every time. Dancers change up their routines. The long dress is folded up under the short one, and there are releases on the front and back of the garment. My husband and I DVR'd it and watched frame by frame. You can see, for instance, when he puts the ring around her and then walks her forward, he reaches behind her and undoes something on her back. Last night's performance, you could actually see the garment change. Also, just before he throws the confetti on her, you can see her put her hand up to the front of the dress and release something there. I agree, they pull it off very well, but I don't think it's worth a million dollars, or even another perfomance on the show.
