"Did Young Hanlon Sink His Team?"
The youngest Hanlon seemed sincere when he told Tonny Brown that he was sorry about the boat incident. He also said something to the effect of "let's not win it like this."

I wonder if he sabotaged the Hanlon's getting the box open. It seemed he knew the numbers, but he decided at that point to just throw in the towel and let the Browns win because he didn't like the way his dad and uncle were playing.

hmmm ... interesting thought. It never occurred to me that he intentionally sabotaged the team. He said he didn't know how to translate the Roman Numeral "L" so I just assumed that the reason the team lost was just that -- simple ignorance.

He seems to have a good heart (unlike his Dad and Uncle), and he also had the intelligence to realize they were dealing with Roman numerals and was able to translate some of them.

You titled this thread, "Did Young Hanlon Sink His Team?" and personally my opinion is that the answer to that question is, "no." In my opinion what sank the team was the elder Hanlons' bungling and ignorance.

And maybe karma's a real thing -- maybe they lost because they were behaving like uncaring racists.

I don't know if karma is real, but bungling and ignorance definitely are! LOL

Like Ron White said, "You can't cure stupid."

I feel sorry for the younger Hanlon, and hope he continues to choose what is right and honorable and intelligent, rather than follow the example of his father and uncle.

I agree, I doubt he purposely sunk the team but I'm surprised those guys haven't figure out how to use a 'puter seeing as several of the teams have solved clues or found directions by just using their 'puter.

That also makes the so fun Fogals idiots too for driving around Boston all that time without just looking up directions themselves.

I liked the Browns and the Hanlons (at least until that clue and boat stunt, I mean they even gave the Fogals more respect) and would have rather not seen either go but someone has to.

My favorite Ron White quote "I'm 4th Generation Dont Give a Fvck."

I agree! There've been several times when they seemed to just totally FORGET that they have a computer and are supposed to be promoting the ask.com search capabilities.

That was BIZARRE! LOL I think sometimes they're so focused on taking the "easy" route by just piggybacking so to speak on the other teams, that it doesn't always occur to them to actually try solving the clues for themselves using their own, well, if not brains, at least their own computers LOL

I too thought that it was the "L" that did them in. It was nice to see Young Hanlon apologize to Tonny and Tonny graciously accept. Young Hanlon is the one who figured out the Roman Numeral clue, so I was impressed by him but got tired of listening to his elders; glad they're gone. I didn't even think of the computer and how they should have used it for that. The Fogals seemed to be totally lost this episode; serves 'em right. I hope ExAirForce gets clued in on what they've pulled. Sounded to me like they didn't know.

i didn't think about that, but it does seem strange that they tried to spy on the Brown's instead of trying to figure it out themselves. they seemed to just give up. if they didn't know what L was then it would have been quicker to try every number--or just look it up on the laptop--instead of running behind the Browns trying to peek between their legs?!?! of course the youngest Hanlon was obviously the only one with a hint of a brain, so i guess it isn't that surprising that they quit trying to figure it out.

Do you think that Josh after watching the show will realize how much his family will hold him back if he stays with them?

Can he just pack his bags and leave?
