24 is reminding me more and more of the original Star Trek. When you heard that Chloe was heading out with an unnamed backup team, what did you think the life expectency of the back-up team was? They should have just named the villain Khan. Like Kirk, Jack has been dead, tortured and captured many times. Also like Star Trek, the villains find it as easy to take over nuclear facilities and capture warheads as it was for any guest on the Enterprise to take over the ship.

6. "It was weak." |
Hm. See, I thought this was a low point for the series. In a series where the implausible seems possible, Chloe's "Rambo Moment" was just laughable.I mean, does everyone at CTU end up in the field at some point? "Hey you over there cleaning the bathrooms, we need you for a very special assignment..." Added to the laughablity was the fact that the files which Chloe was sent to retrieve were located on a...laptop computer (you know, the kind that you can just take with you in a car headed for CTU headquarters). Not only did Chloe's "Rambo Moment" seem forced, it turned a quirky character into a joke. I was pretty disappointed, actually.

LAST EDITED ON 04-26-05 AT 10:33 AM (EST)I know what you mean! Love the little smirks and arrogance of Chloe. Way to go Jackette! This whole episode was a love fest. Even Mike Novak and Bill Buchanan were extremely likeable. Everyone that is but 'Not-Kate-rhymes-with-Tawdry' who is beyond redemption.

It was a good episode. A few notes:1. These terrorists really gotta stop having girlfriends in the U.S. This is the second time this season Marwan has ordered to "take care of it." 2. Vice President Logan is quite possibly the biggest idiot on the planet. I feel so bad for Jack. They completely ruin the mission and arrest Jack. Then, when the President changes his mind, Jack is released. One moment he's complete adamant about Jack's arrest, the next, he's letting him go. What a fool. 3. Chloe going into the field didn't seem *too* farfetched, although in theory they could have brought back the computer to CTU. I liked her reaction/demeanor throughout the scene though. They really highlighted Chloe's discomfort in the field. 4. Whoa... Is Buchanan actually becoming more likeable? You mean he's not just a total rule-abiding stiff from Division? 5. Where was Michelle? I think I might have seen her once. 6. Audrey is so incredibly annoying. Go back to Daddy. Jims02: Proud member of the inoffensive OT Triumvirate. Jims' Random Thoughts

I'm trying to like this series, (not much else on monday night when there's no Football) the suspense is good but here is so much junk in each episode. I mean everyone is someone else's ex-wife, sick daughter ex-girlfriend etc... Then everyone gets hired, fired, tortured, reinstated with a pay raise, arrested released, then fired again. In 24 hours?!?!?!?!? And is it just me or does that new president look like a young Richard Nixon (the hair cut and the jowls remind me of him)?

22. "Ask Ausiello" |
More TV Guide spoilers from 4/27hidden text below:
Question: Why haven't the producers of 24 made Mary Lynn Rajskub a regular yet? Chloe is one of the best characters on TV, and I think Monday's episode was my favorite hour of 24 all season. Chloe with a machine gun? Enough said. — Michael Meinecke Ausiello: Prepare yourself for what I like to call an Ask Ausiello Super-Scoop, Michael Meinecke. Sources confirm for AA that Mary Lynn Rajskub (aka 24's terrorist-slayer Chloe) has just sealed a deal to return to 24 next season as a full-fledged, honest-to-goodness, Kiefer Sutherland-esque series regular! I suggest you join me in saying a big thank-you to the TV gods. Question: What happened to the secretary of defense (William Devane) on 24? He just disappeared with no explanation. — Al Ausiello: He snuck out for a few hours to shoot the ABC comedy pilot Crumbs. Question: We don't get TV Guide magazine here in the Middle East, so please tell me who is the classic villain that is due to come back on 24 (Ask Ausiello 4/20/)? — 2good2betrue Ausiello: I thought your name sounded Middle Eastern. Anyway, the classic villain who's making a comeback is lethal-handshake-girl Mandy (Mia Kirshner). Question: Can you tell us if the two recurring characters who "bite it" on 24 are male or female (Ask Ausiello 4/20/)? — Joel
Ausiello: Both male.

LAST EDITED ON 05-01-05 AT 12:14 PM (EST)<dimension Hi lozengeoflove. Gonna have to disagree. Dimension? Characters in a shoot 'em and ask questions later show are supposed to have depth? And here I thought it was about intrigue and lots of confusion. You know - a soap opera for action junkies. Besides Audrey's annoying waffling between Paul and Jack, she comes across as flat to me. Where's the passion? Where's the righteous anger? Where are the facial expressions? The voice inflections? They don't exist. The actress doesn't have it in her. Everyone is entitled to my opinion.

<Audrey's appeal to me is the subtlety of her performanceWe're going to have to agree to disagree on the actress playing Audrey. What you see as subtlety, I see as listlessness. Sherry had a real role to play. I never knew what she was scheming. She had pizazz. Same with Dina. (Is she really dead? We never did see her body. I don't trust the 24 writers.) I don't think Jack has much depth, but at least his character moves the plot forward. Audrey just vegetates in the CTU medical unit, popping up now and again to confront Jack over his Go-To attitude. Audrey does nothing except listlessly show her angst over her Paul/Jack situation. She's just there. I could care less whether her character sticks around or not. She doesn't feel real to me. It may be the writing. It may be the actress's skills. Or it may be both. But for me, until something changes, she'll be an annoying blob taking up dialogue time that could be better used by any other character on the show. I want more Chloe! Everyone is entitled to my opinion.

39. "Best episode of the season!" |
I know I've been a pretty harsh critic of this season thus far, but last night had me on the edge of my seat, just like episodes of seasons past. The last scene was incredibly well-played, IMO, and is one of my favorite scenes from 24 ever! I LOVE May sweeps.
