"RE: Uli Needs Some New Design Ideas" Just as I was sick of Laura designing dresses with plunging necklines (last night was a refreshing change) and Jeffery always always always doing deisgns with his crap rock in mind. SO sick of the same cut, neckline, whether it be mini, midi, or ankle length! I do love her usage of color, but that can only go so far. I was suprised that Laura finally took the plunge-pun intended-and moved away from the plunging neckline last night-to actually do something buyable! THAT is a dress I would consider buying for myself, even though I'm not crazy about her, and the thought of adding to her income makes me cringe.... It has to be Michael all the way with this, if those other 3 don't step it up and pull something absolutely fab out of a bag we haven't seen yet. "RE: Uli Needs Some New Design Ideas" There is that tipping poing where you go from having a strong point of view to being a one trick pony. Only being able to do one thing is not a point of view. I would like to see more variety from Uli. I like what she does, I'd probably wear much of what she has put out, however I'd like to see her do a suit or pants or a structured dress or something. Laura has demonstrated she can apply her point of view to something different this week, which I loved. I so wanted the judges to reward that, and they did. Even though Jeffrey always goes rock'n'roll at least there is more variety to what he does than Uli has shown. Although I don't like Jeffrey's attitude and would love to see him do something totally different than his 'rocker' image, but he is talented nonetheless. My fav for winner is Michael. I was so angry that they brought back Vincent and Angela last nigth but knew they would be going on home. She was the one that told Laura the dress needed to be younger. The model is the one that suggested sleeves. Maybe these designers should listen more closely to their models. Just like Laura until last night. I can't picture Uli putting together a collection. I think it would be like Chloe's collection - nothing but baby dolls and evening gowns - the things she likes to wear. She is putting forth a mind set of lighthearted fun (and de hot weather) vacation and freedom. To me, her work is inspirational as it is as light as air. "RE: Uli Needs Some New Design Ideas" I too like Uli's "fashion" and wish that I was small enough to wear them. I think she has a niche in the beach/resort wear industry. My only concern is the fabrics already have the prints and designs and I would like her to maybe try something that has not already be prefabbed. However, I do really like the way that she takes the design in the fabric and makes them symetrical so that it is not a bunch of mishmash. I think she could do some adorable halter top / pillazo pant sets and again sell to resorts and cruise ships.
