I have been watching all season. I am more into this show than I am Survivor! Anyway, there is a Project Runway thread over at Sucks, and someone posted a link to pics from today's Olympus Fashion Week show. All four remaining designers have clothes in the show, so there's no real spoiler on who gets sent home next week. It was hard to focus on Kara's line but my first and strongest impression of them was "haven't I seen this before?" Looking through the collections, I am shocked that Santino's collection actually looks really nice. I thought almost all the pieces were actually beautiful and tasteful. I don't get it -- considering the hideous stuff he was creating these last few weeks, where did this all come from??? I am guessing that Santino (as I predicted) DOES make the final 3 and that he took all the criticism to heart and over the past month or so, while he created his collection, he listened to Tim and designed classic looking pieces. So, in the end, either he'll win for taking all the judge's comments to heart or he won't because he strayed too far from his "originality." I really think Chloe is one of the final 3, in looking at her collection. It was beautiful. If she is, I think it will come down to her and Santino. If they follow last year's format (which I don't think they will) crazy & wild personality Santino will win. It's a tossup on Kara & Daniel. I could easily see Kara going to final 3, because the Judges are all high this year. Daniel will be this year's Austin -- strong all season, only to be sent packing before final 3. I don't like Kara's bohemian style, but I actually was more impressed with her collection at the Olympus Fashion Show than anything she did this season. I'm guessing it's one of two things: either Santino was told to overdo his designs** and/or he's gotten past his adolescent angst and set his determination to produce quality designs. **Not that a reality tv show would EVER do that. I was very impressed with Chloe's line. I've always found her boring, but some of them impressed me. I have always been a Santino fan and have liked most of his attempts even though he went too far on some. But looking at the pictures I was surprised when a few I thought were Santino's, were actually Chloe's. Daniel's were good. His look very professional. I thought Kara's were horrible. I was very surprised that I didn't hate Santino's collection, and that his clothing actually looked wearable. I still don't like him, too many of his designs during the show have been absolutely fugly, and I don't like his attitude. My feeling is that Chloe is the decoy. Why did she only use four different fabrics? Her clothes were beautiful overall, but I'm thinking the fabric choices are the key here. Lvoed, lvoed, lvoed Daniel's collection, but it is extremely commercial and could be seen in many stores already. I felt the same about Wendy's collection last year -- definitely a line I would wear, and I've always felt couture fashion is a way for designers to go way over the top and push the envelope. Which brings me to Kara. Her collection is over the top -- similar to Jay's collection last year. I couldn't stand a single piece of Jay's, yet he won. And Kara's collection shows a diversity of color, something the other three lines do not. Santino used the same brown-grey color in most of his designs, with the exception of one dark rust and a seafoam green. Chloe used the aforementioned four fabrics - mauve, champagne print, green print and navy. Daniel's collection was almost monochromatic -- black, brown, white and beige. Yawn. On the other hand, Kara's collection pops with colors - pumpkin, rose, yellow, purple, blue, seafoam. Considering that my personal tastes often run completely opposite of what is considered 'high fashion', I'm voting for Kara's collection to win.   Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top

I'm with you on Chloe as decoy because of the repetition of fabric. Last year's decoy Austin, was given 1/2 the budget to come up with a convincing showing. If the same is true this year, I wonder if Chloe had to stretch the fabric budget by using the same stuff. I was very impressed with Santino's collection and the only explanation I have is like said before, he took what the judges said to heart or he had it in him all along but due to time limits and stress and the need to be noticed he lost it until he got home to his own enviroment. I also liked Chloe's and Daniel's outfits. Kara's were better than what she made on the show, of course I knew they were hers due to the constant empire waist top thing going on, she's obsessed I think. "Agree" Yeah, we haven't seen the clothes except in static view, but I also think Santino's collection looks to be the best by far. It has a mix of wearable clothes, attractive attention-getting clothes and kinda weird attention-getting clothes, which is what you want in this kind of runway walk. Does anyone else think that Daniel's collection looks like something Liz Claiborne would do for one of its brands? Nice but dull? But we'll know more soon enough, won't we? "RE: Pictures from 2/10 - Fashion Week- SPOILERS" I definitely think it'll be between Santino and Daniel (early on, I really thought it would be Nick and Santino in the end based upon editing, but Daniel v. Santino makes a lot of sense now that the weeks have rolled on). Santino had some absolutely beautiful looking items in his collection (I would totally wear all but two of what's in his collection - blue dress with jacket and the thing with sleeves that look like trash bags). My favorites were the last dress (looks like something he would have made in week one before his stuff got all bizarro) and the second outfit (taupe colored strapless top with brown capri pants) - this is a very flattering style for nearly every body type. Daniel's looked very clean and well-made (but as someone else said, on the boring side). The coat is just beautiful and the wrap-around top with the satin ribbon at the waist paired with black pants is really cute. I also liked the outfit after the wrap-around top (with the puffed sleeve at the elbow). Some very classy looking stuff in his collection, but a little too "safe" looking. I'd wear almost everything in his collection, too (looking at the pictures again, the white pants paired with the pale sage green top is a very nice outfit - love those pants) Chloe's, to me, was not at all what I was expecting from her. That pink thing is hideous (it looks like it is about 4 sizes too big). The first of the two green print dresses is very unflattering. The second of the gold print dresses has a very strange top (really, really small on top - if it looks bad on these runway models, just think of how unflattering it would be on someone with an actual chest). But, her outfit with the gold top with lace shrug and baggy black pants was probably my favorite outfit of all. Very, very nice but looks totally out of place in her collection, IMO. The rest I could totally do without. Kara's does remind me a bit of Jay's collection from last season. Like Jay and the headphones, she used something - leggings and scarves - to tie everything together. But hers looks like it was thrown together and the scarves/leggings were used as an attempt to make everything look related. It was bizarre. It was definitely much more risky than the others'. Guess it doesn't much matter since she's the decoy. I do really like that last dress (the purplish one...very nice). If Santino wins, I'd actually be quite happy because his collection is worthy to me. Everything seems to work well together (it looks like a collection without everything looking very similar). I would LIKE to see Daniel win. I just have a feeling it's a little too plain like Kara Saun's was last season (beautifully crafted, but looks like something you could buy anywhere). Santino blew me away with his vivid colors, sleek style, and the way he was able to tone down some of his off-beat drive from earlier. Kara? What the heck? Is she designing for pregnant ladies? Almost all of her designs were empire waist, and something that a thin person would look very gaudy in-another opinion, of course! Daniel, very toned, sleek, sophisticated. Chloe-I've already forgotten most of what she did. A few nice evening gowns. They are all good, IMHO, with the exception of Kara.
