trigirl 2844 desperate attention whore postings DAW Level: "Howard Stern Show Guest" 08-12-05, 02:13 PM (EST) "Newbie Questions" I have read the back pages, but still have some questions. Just started watching this week and love the show!!! What does everyone mean that people have to fight for songs? Does the artist\contestant not get to choose their own song...selection by committee or something? I understand the ratings are not good. Too bad. Was MB hoping to turn this into a franchise? There are an equal number of songs available as singers each week. The rockers go into a room where the songs are hanging and they must decide between themselves which song each one gets. Hi, Newbie! Each rocker chooses their own song, but sometimes two or three people want the same one. Then it has to be decided amongst them who will win their first choice. "RE: Newbie Questions" I suspect it is the production team that selects the songs for each week, and not INXS. It would be interesting to know more about the process that goes into determining the weekly song list. Do you think they have any themes? Do you think they put up a song that they hope each singer will get? Do you think they factor in the comments from the judges (ie if the judges suggest that someone sing a more soulful song, would they provide naturally soulful songs, or expect the singers to adapt other songs to meet their suggestions)? Are the ratings really not doing well? The show is on late, so won't score as high as, say, American Idol, but I know a bunch of people that are into the show.
