"12 step program for this addiction?"
Okay, I am a 40 year old woman jumping off my couch screaming for JD. I have the internet at work so I watched his performance again at least 10 times today. I woke up last night in the middle of the night, my mind singing" She wrote me a letter dadada danana na.
I am searching for a 12 step program for this addiction, does anyone know of one?

Really, this show has been so fun to watch, I rarely even watch TV, especially reality type because they are usually so scipted and staged. This seemes genuine and I have grown to like all of the contestants. This week it was so hard to see Tara go, even if she was my pick to go home this week.

I watched all of the performers last night and the talent pool is huge.
Obviously JD is my favorite, he seems focused and really learns from any feedback that he gets, and he has improved, along with most of the others.
Seeing Ty on the bottom three was amazing considering how talented he is.
I wish they would hurry up and wrap up the show so I can get some sleep, and then go by my ticket to an INXS concert with JD fronting the band.

...dadada danana na.

Hey, if Tom can do it for Katie, you are certainly entitled to go nutty for J.D.

I hear you, Tamglam!!! I'm a 36yo woman, not much of a TV watcher and I'm totally horrified with myself. But what can we do? Not only am I re-watching all of the episodes, but I'm singing into the bathroom mirror, prancing around the house as if I'm a rockstar and devouring all the posts on this message board for crying out loud --- and having huge fun in the process.

My baby wrote me a letter!!!!! GO JD!!!

Ah, more vintage wimmin!

At forty freaking two, I am pleased this show is including so many classic songs, as well as current stuff. Let's face it: Rock Was Better In Our Day.

Funk:
I am glad to know that I am not the only woman out there who has lost her mind (at least for a short while). I was thinking today what I would wear if I were a rock star? If you heard me sing you would know how funny that is.

Question, like you, I have been reading the boards, why do some people hate J.D. so much? I mean, they have to know how editing can make or break a show and in reality TV there must be drama and a "hated one". It is so stupid to me that people fall for this. I believe that INXS may be putting themselves in a pickle. The safe route would be to pick Jordis, because even if she isn't your favorite most agree that she is talented.
I for one would not be happy because I don't think she is right to front this band. I like her a lot and believe that she is the most talented vocally. But as a whole package for a band that is INXS, the choice would clearly be J.D. who by the way has a lot of fans, I believe the most, but we will find out as the voting continues. He is electric, which is perfect for INXS.

I read somewhere that a long time ago J.D. had a dream that he would be the singer for INXS.

Cross you fingers that he hasn't been arrested, or something comes up that would blow it for him, I will say he is dangerous, aren't all "Rockstars"?

(singing)"She wrote me a letter."

Tamglam,

I've been reading your posts and know you think J.D. is a victim of Burnett's editing. That's a possibility but I've been watching how the other rockers interact with him as well. When J.D. sings they stay seated and relatively stone-faced. During We are the Champions, he kept pointing to them. They didn't clap or stand up or join in his performance in any way. There appears to be a strong dislike of him. And it's not jealousy because when Ty was singing Kick last night, they were going crazy, bouncing and singing along and Ty sounded great. This is true when the other performers (except J.D.) are singing well too.

J.D. is a talented guy and I don't hate him and this is probably true of most of the other posters. But bands break up in a very ugly way when the lead singer is as arrogant as J.D. seems to be. Think Van Halen (w/David Lee Roth). Maybe J.D. is a sweetheart and you're right. Only time will tell.

Thanks for responding, and I do understand your point, and the reason why I personally hated the at the mansion drama. They give us footage of about 22 minutes, about what happens in a weeks time. A lot happens in a weeks time. I just find it sad that they had to create "a drama" to try and boost sluggish ratings.

If J.D. is one of their top competitors, and continuosly gets the most attention from the press and message boards and from the people in the audience and then is SO electric on stage like no one else is, how do you know that they are not jealous?
I think it would be hard to be in a competition and get your butt spanked almost every week.
To the subject of Jordis, and I mention her because she is the only other one that everyone talks about. I agree that she has an incredible talent, I would buy her CD right away when it comes out, but would pay $60.00 to see her in concert with the band? Most likely not.
To me the best concerts are high energy shows, like the Stones, Rod stewart, Bette Midler,U2,Red hot Chili Peppers, you get the idea. As much as I love listening to Sarah Mclaughlin, she was just "Okay in concert." Who would I pay to see?

J.D.
I really don't know what kind of a people all of the above listed entertainers are, maybe I know some rumors about each. Rod and the Village People rumor, Mick Jagger cheating on his wife and having a baby with her. Drug addiction Etc.
Most of the best artist, the most creative, electric entertainers have issues, heck, who doesn't. Point being look at all of the emotion J.d. has evoked from people, good and bad. To me that is even more evidence of his up and coming stardom with or without INXS.
You can't stop it now.
Please don't believe everything that you are told through the manipulating producers camera. I am willing to bet their are 8 huge egos in that house. He is in a competition and is there to win. Its called Business. The band gets it, dave gets it, some fans get it. The ones that don't probably don't win many competitions.

I have to say I agree with both of you. I've noticed the lack o' enthusiasm from the other performers when J.D. is on stage and it bugs me since they're so supportive of everyone else.

However, I did notice Marty raising his eyebrows after INXS gave Brandon the positive feedback on Tuesday ("your look is great, your singing was great, your performance was great"). I personally interpreted his look as one of disagreement. I've also noticed a few strange looks from Jordis. Always quick shots, but I've noticed a few of them. Who knows what people are thinking?

In general, I think it's probably a combo of editing, some jealousy and resentment about JD's attitude that this is a competition, not a lovefest. I agree that it's critical that bandmates have good chemistry and get along well for long periods of time. But I don't think JD's "antics" indicate that he's a manipulative, devious SOB like some people seem to feel. I think he honestly loves the band, wants to win, and recognizes that it IS a competition that may take some strategic maneuvers.

Personally, I'd like to see the other contestants take this more seriously in that regard. If they REALLY want this gig, then they should be thinking a LOT more about what they need to do to win, not playing the martyr ie Ty taking a song he didn't even know or Jessica just saying "they'll hate me no matter what I sing." To me, that says they don't want to win that badly. Maybe they just want to perform well and hope it helps their career in some way. Maybe they don't really expect to win. But if I were INXS, I'd choose someone who A) truly loved their music, B) preferred to perform their style of music rather than another genre, C) has the vocal ability that their songs demand, and D) can whip a crowd into a frenzy for 2+ hours. IMHO I think JD is the only one who can do the job!

PS Tamglam, what did you end up wearing today?? ;)

Ditto what you said Funk. Maybe with Ty ending up in the bottom 3, he'll think twice about not fighting for his song choice. I will be tuning in Sun night to VH1 to see how the song picks go this week.

I also think J.D. is being overly critized by some. All he said was that he basically loves INXS more than the others and really, really wants this. He put it out there in the open, rather than being a sneaky snake and "pretending" to be everyone's friend. How many of those others are faking their lovefest?

I am still of the opinion that there are quite a few left who don't want to front INXS and some who didn't even know who INXS was before trying out for this show. They are here for the exposure in hopes of securing a record deal of their own. Don't get me wrong, I have nothing against that at all, because I just love watching a talent competition with real talent for a change.

I am diggin your chili sister,

you are right on about the other rockers not taking it seriously enough, and more involved in the lovefest and looking good to the viewers. Jodis didn't even know who INXS was before this competition and that showes in her blasay attitude. Did you know that she was on star search and lost? I just read that- and saw her on the star search website.

It shows that for most of the rockers this was a reality show that would give them exposure. J.D. showed up to be a part of the band. that focus is there everytime they show him.

Well I am getting ready for the day and I am trying to decide on should I wear (thinking) my jeans, boots, crop halter top with the big hoop earings, or ...
oh I forgot I am not a rockstar!
