"Kiss of death?"
Well, CBS has pulled a FOX and moved this show to Saturdays as Webby reports here.

Let's hope they don't pull another FOX and in one/two weeks drop it from the lineup!

URGH! This urinates me off.

All I know is that Webby immediately blamed me for it.

You know, I originally considered headlining the story with "Estee's curse strikes again" but I figured that would be too much of an inside joke

They had to be planning to move this show all along. They knew Survivor would take the time slot. But at that time they didn't know The Will would bomb on Saturday. I wonder what they were planning to do with this show before that.

I don't like the way it is being switched immediately! There was no mention of it on last week's show. I would rather they advertise it for a couple of weeks to get the fans ready for the change and pump it up. The way they did it is more of a FOX move and really frustrates me because that is the way FOX does a series right before they pull the plug!

I addressed some of this in my various Survivor 10, TAR7, Wickedly Perfect, and The Will stories, but my guess (and that's all it is) on the original plan is that it was:

- Air The Will on Saturdays throughout its run
- Premiere Survivor just after TAR6 ends (as they are pretty much still doing)
- Move Wickedly to TAR6's now-available Tuesday slot for the four remaining episodes of its ten episode run
- Premiere TAR7 in late March in the Tuesday slot following Wickedly's conclusion.

Unfortanately both its new reality series disappointed (which really isn't a surprise considered one of the shows spent over two years in development and was even dropped by a 4th place network before airing while the other show was produced by the same producers behind such flops as Boot Camp, The Littest Groom, and Race To The Altar -- their next hit reality show will be their first)

Thanks for the info!

I think they made a knee jerk decision as the move wasn't even mentioned during it's run last week!

It is kinda knee jerk, but not really. I'm sure, going into Thursday's broadcast, they were already considering moving Wickedly Perfect if it dropped in the ratings, but I don't think they were expecting (after pretty much holding steady in Week 2) to see it drop as much as it did. Making the drop even a little for stranger was that its ratings actually increased from 8:30-9 versus 8-8:30 -- which means that having viewers switch over to The Apprentice really wasn't the problem, instead, they appear to completely skip CBS and instead check out Joey for the first time ever.

The problem with Wickedly Perfect doing bad is that it doesn't just mean that CBS is doing bad in one hour, it also means that NBC is getting a chance to lift Joey off the mat via new viewers sampling it and building a 8:30 beachhead that can help Apprentice keep people from watching CSI. Together those issues can impact CBS's Thursday night performance well beyond the few weeks that Wickedly Perfect is airing and potentially get would-be Survivor and CSI viewers hooked on NBC programs for the balance of the season -- and (along with next week's Feb. sweeps start) I think that's the larger issue that CBS is worried about

I saw some mention, I think it was somewhere around the preview shows for the next episode.

It was not very obvious though, I think it went by really quickly. I could see a lot of people missing it. I wonder how many viewers they just lost?

Btw, I forgot to add that CBS still has some previously announced reality shows floating around out there -- and, depending on how Wickedly does, one of them might get the Saturday time period after Wickedly Perfect ends.

CBS was casting for a six-episode "Nightmare on Elm Street: Real Nightmares" reality series last summer -- a show that might actually do OK on Saturdays, although 8PM might be a little early to air such a show.

And they also have Tommy Hilfiger's "The Cut" out there -- it's a designer competition that sounds much like Bravo's successful "Project Runway" show (which was in fact announced AFTER the CBS show) and was originally announced in August as a "midseason" show

This coincides nicely with our "we're broke" plan for 2005. I need something to watch on Saturday nights.

My TV listing information describes Saturday's show (1/29) as "Twelve contestants live together while competing to be crowned the country's new authority on at-home living."

Does this mean they're going to start over with episode 1, or will they show episode 4?

In my experience, that's the type of generic show info that the listings services show when they don't have any episode-specific description -- there's been no indication that CBS plans to restart it

Just Great! I finally start watching this show and they dribble it down the court to Saturdays. I heard this anonymous letter to the producers had something to do with it:
