"The 2012 NFL Draft."
Step right up and get your four-year career! Four-year careers here! You won't get any money because your entourage will take it all and you won't get a job in the business after because you're not related to the owner, but the injuries? Those are yours to keep, forever! Four-year careers for sale! All it costs you is twenty years off your lifespan!

...every once in a while, it's a good idea to think about what this thing really does, isn't it?

I'm sorry. Did you just imply you wanted Washington to have an Afrimerican male in a position of leadership?

Well, he's been quarterback for more than half a day and the franchise hasn't made a total recovery yet. I say it's time to impeach.

I was a Campbell fan, as well as a McNabb fan (as a Skin). And while their stints were complete and utter failures here, I will stand up for them until I take my last breath. My worry with RG3 is my worry for everyone that's been there in the past 20 years - no consistency.

I also worry about protection and having someone to throw to who's not injured or suspended.

For today, I am a very happy girl!

Seriously, WTF are the Redskins doing? They draft RG3 and because of the trade to move up, they're short on draft picks. And what do they do with their 4th round pick? Draft a QB, of course. Nice to have a QB controversy before they even sign their contracts!

ETA - but it's at least not as dumb as the Clowns giving up three draft picks to move up one spot in order to draft Trent Richardson when everyone and their dogs knew who the Vikes would be drafting.

So you really thought an Afrimerican male would be allowed to assume power without internal dissent at the mere concept?

Also, it's Snyder. Therefore, it is stupid. When in doubt as to whether something the Redskins have done, it will always be stupid. There are no exceptions to this rule. By the way, the rule has a $10,000 annual reading fee, so pay up by last Tuesday.

I think they also drafted a RB, which I don't necessarily agree with.

Shanahanigans has indicated no controversy. RG3 is the franchise, but he wants depth at the QB position. We're not exactly known for QB protection . . .

But that's what Rex Grossman and John Beck were for - as backups go, they're pretty decent, and the Skins had far more pressing needs elsewhere on the roster than to draft a backup rookie QB who will never get a chance to develop as long as RG3 stays healthy and performs the way he's expected to. They're already short on draft picks and have holes to fill, so they essentially wasted a perfectly good pick - I could see them going for the home run if they had plenty of other picks.

Ya, you don't want Rex Grossman as a starter, but you have a decent chance of catching Good Rex in a spot start as backup since Bad Rex usually pops up when he's had a few games in a row.

It's pretty universal everywhere I've read - this was an unspeakably dumb move by the Redskins, and the sad part is that a lot of people are saying, "It's the Skins, whaddya expect?" and just shrug it off.

Bad Rex! No biscuit!

(Had to be done.)

So the question turns to 'How is RGIII seeing it?' Has he sighed, realized that he's stuck in the asylum, and begun marking off the days until his free agency hits? Is he one of those athlete divas who will scream to the media about how no one has any faith in him and he can't play under these conditions? Or is he just planning to hold out until roughly December in the hopes that the team will finally just go for trade value?

Yeah that was a bit of an eyebrow-raiser for me, especially considering Dallas never talked with Claiborne a single time in the months leading up to the draft and there was a guy rated just as highly (Dre Kirkpatrick) who lasted until the 17th pick and could have been had without needing to give up any picks.

A strange draft overall, if you ask me. A few stupefying moves - it looks like the new rookie pay scale made teams a lot bolder... and a lot stupider, too.
