Well I have to admit I never would have predicted that Canada would beat Samoa. Would have thought that Samoa would just bully them off the pitch, biiiig upset there, way to go!Nice to see Scotland doing well, although we are a bit hookie on the bonus points. Hopefully we can beat England. Looks like a southern hemisphere tourney though, have to say that I think the All Blacks are looking very good. Lovely cheese Mooney Just another Sleeperbloke

Well, seeing as we didn't play Samoa ;), I think your prediction is bang on. Besides, we've lost to Samoa the only 2 times we've played them. However, on Saturday, we did beat Tonga for the 3rd straight time in World Cup play, which is extremely satisfying since it's Canada's first win in RWC in 8 years.I'm not so sure it's a biiiig upset. An upset sure but Tonga is ranked 12th in the world (as of Sep 12), Japan (also in the same group) is ranked 13th and Canada 14th. I think the matches between them should be fairly even but each is likely to lose to both France and New Zealand. Canada's almost always been in the second tier of countries in rugby. Btw, my cousin and her husband are both in NZ watching. They both played rugby and are huge fans. Would be nice to see the All Black win for the first time since '87 but we'll see. Although they've finished in the top 4 more than any other country (tie with France at 5), something always seems to come up that prevents them from winning despite being favoured. And here I always assumed that you were a London bloke. I don't think I could have been more wrong! My FIL is Scottish from Ayrshire near Glasgow, iirc.

For me having relooked at Canada I see the tiers as:1) Wallabies, Springboks and All Blacks 2) England, France, Argentina. 3) Wales, Ireland, Scotland. 4) Samoa, Italy, Tonga, Canada and Japan. 5) Everyone else (Although Romania were always going to be the sixth nation when I was young, and Russia have been impressive in the past. The USA can beat weak teams, but have never been able to cope with a physical game.)
