"Rachel Hunter should have won!"
LAST EDITED ON 01-22-05 AT 07:28 AM (EST)

Words cannot express how disappointed I was with Episode 6 (after Rachel Hunter was voted off) and Episode 7 with the millionaire, Glenn Stearns, winning unneeded prize money and driving off in a new Mustang convertable (yes, I know he honorably donated all the money to charity and got a nice tax deduction). Skipper Jim and Mary Ann Kate's lack of good gaming strategy (or lack of brain power) still boggles my mind.

Skipper's lame rationalization for voting for Mary Ann because voting for Lovey would have been "dirty pool", and because he wanted to show Mary Ann she wasn't safe is still ringing in my ears. The Skipper already knew that everyone was either voting off Lovey (because Thurston was exempt) or Ginger, sheesh! In my opinion, real dirty pool is having from day one a married couple alliance who are both winners if only one of them win. It would have been in everyone's best interest to break up the Stearns' alliance by voting Lovey off.

As far as Mary Ann Kate goes, sugar coat it anyway you want; she knew Thurston and Lovey were voting Gilligan Chris off and her not voting for Thurston was going to result in Gilligan being banned to the other side of the island. So, not only does Mary Ann backstab Gilligan by breaking her promise to never vote him off, she sets herself up for a difficult two-against-one scenario for the final trial (in which Lovey didn't even have to try because her husband was ahead of Mary Ann).

From a competitive standpoint, Ginger Rachel rocked, and I could easily see her outperforming Thurston Glenn as she did in the past. Not only that, Rachel Hunter was a very smart player and all around cool person; I am sure Rachel is a millionaire too, but I still would have liked to see her win it all. From a practical standpoint, I would have liked to see someone more needy win that money and car than one of the millionaires or actors. $250,000 would have been life-changing to an average Joe who invested it wisely.

LOL, it makes me wonder if Thurston Glenn was making some off-camera money deals with Skipper and Mary Ann for throwing the game by making very poor voting choices and letting the Stearns win? Okay, maybe that is the silly conspiracy theorist in me talking, but I still cannot get over the Skipper and Mary Ann's poor Voodoo Village decisions.

Is anyone else here disgruntled because Rachel Hunter got shafted and Thurston Glenn won?

PS: Since I haven't had anyone to vent to about this for weeks, maybe this will bring me closure and I can get on with my life. J/K

1. "RE: Rachel Hunter should have won!"
I completely agree with you! It was such a let down to watch the final episode. I also agree that it was totally not fair to have BOTH millionaires be up to win since it was obviousd they would not vote off the other the odds were already stacked in their favor.

Rachel was definately my favorite and I'm sorry she got voted off, but in the final 3 I really think that Mary Ann should have won. The Millionaire didn't need any of that stuff but she did. It's just crazy that people will let pride get in the way of doing the right thing.

I will NOT be watching the 2nd season of this God-Awful show!
