I'm a little confused about a couple of things on tonights episode. I thought they said several times that the daughter putting inappropriate pics on the internet was only 12. However, her website said she was 16. Now I know she certainly could have been lying on the site but after I saw it I took a good look at her. She looked more like 16 to me?!? The next thing was at the very end. When they showed that the 19 year old martial arts daughter had moved in with her boyfriend she had a gold band on her wedding ring finger. I feel a little odd about these two things. It made me feel like maybe the whole situation was not as it had been described. Anyone else notice these things?

It was mentioned many times especially at the end when all the parents got together to discuss their experience that the daughter is in fact 12. I think she lied on her webpage, she clearly wants to look older. Yes, she did look older but I think that had more to do with the makeup and such. As for the 19 year old daughter, I thought I noticed the gold band on her finger during the show. I would have liked to know what it was that the parent's didn't like about her boyfriend, but maybe the problem was more that they were so protective that no one would have been good enough. As for my views on the show, the out of control family was just ridiculous. Not only did the mother not work but she didn't mother her children. I'm sorry but there was no excuse for her knowing what kind of pictures of her daughter was on the internet and not do anything about it. If the daughter wasn't willing to take them down herself then the mother should have and put parental bans up. I'm just glad to see that this family really seemed to benefit from the experience before things got even more out of control. As for the more controled family well I think they had the right ideas but they just went overboard with it. They definately needed to learn not to be so uptight and over protective, which can be hard to do, but they seemed to take the experience for what it was and learned when to be strict and when to cut some slack.

Yeah, I thought the New Jersey family was totally out of control. The mother seemed to want to be her daughter's best friend instead of her mother, and the father didn't even know that his 12 year old was putting sexual pictures of herself on the internet. A total disfunctional family. And the poor son only wanted his mother to stay around and watch him in his karate class. And she couldn't even do that much.As for the Martial Arts family, they went overboard on the other extreme. Where the NJ family was too lax in disipline, the other family was too strict. I noticed that when the NJ mother told the other son that she set up a gig for his band, his whole face lit up like Christmas. That was really nice of her to do. And it was also great that NJ mom opened up doors for the father and daughter to open up with each other the way they did. Also, it was really great of the Martial Arts mom to set down some ground rules for the NJ family. And I thought it was great when the NJ dad went through the photo albums with his daughter. It seemed like they both needed to find some common ground. And I was so proud of the 12 year old wanting to take out her frustrations on karate. Seems like she needed an outlet for all her anger. All in all, it seems like maybe both families benefitted from their experiences.
