We've got to have a few Las Vegas residents or quasi-occasional visitors on the board, right? Can anyone report on what the casino is like from the inside? Sightings of camera crew? Spoilers? The Usual Suspects?

I have been to the Golden Nugget, but not since these guys purchased it. It is a very nice casino, but in downtown Vegas. All of the "mega-resorts" are on the strip, leaving the Nugget as the only worthwhile casino downtown. I could be biased, cuz I did win a little money there. It would have been fun to be there when they were filming.

Same here. I have been there but not since these guys bought it. I once had supper in the Golden Nugget on a New Year's Eve and it's a nice casino. But I prefer the strip.

Seems like there ought to be casinos downtown. I mean, where do the business crowd go to gamble during their lunch hour?

I was in Vegas May 25 through May 27. They were setting up for shoots done around the show, crowd scenes and gambling shots at the Golden Nugget. The show was suppose to begin shooting either 5/27 or 5/28. They were having problems beginning production. The same guy that owned the Mirage had owned the Golden Nugget first. Many people who want to go downtown and see the light show go to the Golden Nugget because it is The First Class hotel downtown. There is more than a lunch crowd there, it runs 24 hours a day. Once inside you feel you are on the Strip. I have stayed there but that was awhile ago.

Hi. I just registered to report that I stay at the Nugget frequently. I was there the last weekend in Feburary - March 1 when they were filming. Some stuff around the casino was changed, for instance they had put in a special group of tables which appear in the blackjack scenes. These were used only for the filming. I watched the first two episodes and have been rather disappointed. I thought the first episode stunk, and was pretty phony. I thought the second episode was somewhat better. Unfortunately I am compelled to keep watching as I was at the bar playing video poker when they were filming a woman a couple of seats down from me, and I have that pathetic need to see if I show up in the scene. BTW a friend of mine was in Vegas last weekend and met none other than Big Chuck (she posted a photo online to prove it). Seems like his personality was just like he appeared on the show, he said some stuff to her about how much money he had, etc. I will be returning to the Nugget in about three weeks and can report again (if the show isn't cancelled by then).
