"Choose an Alt" |
I'm curious to know who you all would choose to spend a weekend with if given a chance. Art? Don? Ta'Shai? Fiona? Avocado? I've read this forum quite a bit so even though I've missed quite a few episodes, I have a pretty good idea of what each of the Alts are like. Me? I'd choose Ta'Shai. Fiona annoys the crap out of me and frankly, I don't think we'd mesh. Art? He's totally cool and I love his take on things, but I'm a bit more froo froo than what Art has to offer. Don? I've known several people like him, I don't have a lot to learn there. Avocado? I think we're pretty similar actually, so while I bet we'd have a great time (and I think he's a cutie pie) I don't think I'd learn anything. Now voo doo...that's something that I have only a basic knowledge about. She seems so incredibly genuine. I think I could really learn something from her and would love to just spend some time in her energy. What about ya'll. Who would you pick? --would take Avocado as a second choice because she doesn't mind being nekkers at all and thinks they'd have a blast getting arrested shopping skyclad at the local Piggly Wiggly

Let's see, Art, I like him the best and would love to sit and have conversations with, so maybe him. I'm not sure about Don, sometimes I'm not sure whether I believe that he truly believes in his altism(is that a word?) Ta'Shai, quite frankly scares me. I'm a pessimist so the thought of having my cards read and my future told scares the hell out of me. I just know she would say my aura was bad and that I was doomed, so no way. Fiona, well, if she didn't speak and just obeyed, I could handle her. I'll leave it at that. Avocado intrigues me. I like his spirituality, his calmness and he is quite cute. So, I would conclude that I would pick either Art or Avocado. if you don't have anything nice to say, come sit next to me.

Ta'Shai, quite frankly scares me. I'm a pessimist so the thought of having my cards read and my future told scares the hell out of me. I just know she would say my aura was bad and that I was doomed, so no way.Is it her magic that scares you or the possibility of what she might tell you about yourself and your future? I'm curious because I have a friend who is walking the Red Road. Meaning that she is following the Native American spirit path. (interestingly enough she's jewish by birth!). She is one of the most open, accepting, spiritually aware people that I know. She has friends of all faiths and spiritualities and is open to all with good intent. Her beliefs are strong, her knowledge of her path is astounding. She hold workshops, seminars etc. all based around the Red Road and especially the womans nation. BUT she gets the complete cobbly wobblies when she's around witches. She had an interesting and comlicated problem several months ago when she was holding a womans nation workshop in her home. One of the women attending had just come out of the broom closet, so to speak and was just starting to tell people she was a witch. Without going into detail, there was a giant conflict of spiritual energy when the witch was invited to cast the circle and call the corners for the workshop. My friend was so uncomfortable with the energy being cast that she was physically ill. Don't misunderstand, the witch casting the circle is a good woman. Her intent is strong and white, she's just inexperienced and (in my opinion) didn't have enough understanding to cast a complicated circle that included non-witches. Long story short (with many twists, turns and complications only other witches would really understand), the circle that was cast was never truly dismissed. For an entire week my friend and her husband lived in house where the 4 corners had been called but not dismissed. It wasn't pretty. She called me on the 4th day (after a flower pot and 2 picture frames had launched themselves off the fireplace ledge) and asked my help. I had never known that she was freaked out by witches. She and I had always had a great and wonderful relationship. Heck, she stood up for me at my wedding! It turns out that I'm the only witch she's ever known that she didn't get the "cobbly wobblies" while around. Be it my energy, the way I practice...even she didn't really know. That's why she called me asking what to do. I listened and figured out what needed to be done, gave her instructions and talked her through it. In the end, all was fixed and her house is clean. *phew* I guess I told you this story as an example of how I see that some people can be perfectly fine with an Alt that drinks blood, runs nekkid, hangs from hooks or stirs a cauldron, but would from some un-named reason be uncomfortable around someone who practices vundon. My question brazen, (I knew I'd get there eventually ) is, can you name why you wouldn't want to spend the weekend with Ta'Shai or is it more of a Lex's GUT kind of thing? --witchy since...like forever

Hey Misto, I have no qualms about magic or voodoo or witches *wink*. They fascinate me. I have fallen under your spell right? I would have no problems spending time with her if she was practicing white witchcraft or if she was doing voodoo. I can't say that I am super in touch with that dark side of me but I have absolutely no issues there. My fears are as you stated that she would tell me about myself and my future. I have real issues about life and death and happiness and pain. I'm not going to go into issues in the public forum. So, the long answer to question is that I fear being told the bad that I feel is inevitable and rather not know. Check your PM if you don't have anything nice to say, come sit next to me.

I was like no why? She snaped and said "Well, You not a Witch then!" I was like OK?So wait...let me get this straight. This woman was telling people she's a witch. Then asked you if you used magic for personal gain? THEN said you weren't a witch because you rightly so, answered no to her question? Um...did she not read the handbook that came with her broom and hat? Sheesh! I'm not sure gael, but did you see one of my responses in another thread on this forum when I talked about that Scott Cunningham should be locked in small room without writing tools and beaten with a stick for writing all those fluff books? Women like the one you just spoke of put so much stock in those types of books and then call themselves witches it scares me. Really scares me. And don't even get me started on books and kits for "love spells" etc. *grrrrr* --went off on a tangent and will step back now

First choice is Art. He's so kind and calm. Seems like a lovely person. I would love to talk to him about his beliefs and experiences.Second choice is Avocado. He also seems so gentle and real. Not sure I'd run nekkid with him, but there are few people I'd run nekkid with, Hugh Grant being the exception. Ta'Shia is next. I'd love to get her take on the world. Wouldn't mind getting my cards read either. Fiona seems to flucuation between understand and b!tchy. I haven't decided if it's a ploy to test the houseguests, or it's her nature. I wouldn't say no to a weekend with her, but I wouldn't go out of my way either. Don? No thank you. a JSlice original. isn't she something?

I would not chose Avocado, although I like him on the show, because I think he tends to be preachy--something I really detest.Fiona seems laking in depth. I think for her Wicca is just another cool costume. I would chose Don to walk around my neighborhood with, just for the shock & awe effect. After, we'd go to my health food store, Valley Co-op, then bar hop for Bloody Marys. I think he would be fun to hang with, but nobody I want to emulate. I would chose either Art or Iya ta'Shia (my first choice) to actually talk to. And I don't mind having my fortune told--I see that as just one path my life may follow. The choice of how I walk my path remains mine. Interesting, because ta'Shia was the Alt I liked least in the beginning.

I'm new here, so bear with me....I read your post, and was nodding my head in agreement on every point. I had high hopes for Fiona, but she's proven herself to be easily led. Regardless of how I felt about Don's ritual, it was impolite of her to be giggling. I understand people often giggle as a reaction to things they can't handle but it was rude. She would have been offended, had it been her ritual and Don doing the giggling. Don is the weak one, IMHO. I find him annoying, most of the time. I, too, have known people like him, and find myself rolling my eyes at alot of what he says. I really like Art and Avocado, and would have no trouble spending time with either of them. They appear to be real, genuine, and have minds of their own. So far, I have great regard for both of them. I have witnessed similar rituals to theirs and found Art's to be the most moving so far of all the Alts. Ta'Shia's world is the only one I know little about, and I think it would be fascinating to learn more. She, too, seems genuine and her concern over Eric's drinking and Noel taking cold medicine to sleep impressed me.

Art. Going with Misto's reasoning, I know the least about his beliefs, and discussing things with him feels like it would be a pleasant experience. (I know a few Wiccans, have a very basic understanding of voodoo, can't quite see myself saying 'Avocado' with a straight face for a few hours, and have frankly had enough of vampires to last me for -- oh, a while. A good while. A good, long while.) Also, as someone who watches reality TV, I subject myself to extreme pain on a regular basis for reasons few others would pretend to understand or want to emulate. So there's common ground already.

Don, I find him silly , yet intreging, he has a sense of humor, I think he is hot...although I think he should stay totally in the dark..lol..It compromises the whole Idea of a Vampire, him going out into daylight I think all of the program should have been writen to acomodate the Vampire...and the NO sun thing...Do you think we will see more of the alts after the showis done? do u think any of them will go on to fame?

I vote Art - he seems like he would be a fun person to hang out with, a calm person to have spiritual discussions, and I completely lost my train of thought.Avocado: He gets a little more geeky and a little more preachy everytime I see him. I wish that Park Ranger had slapped him. Still, he would be the backup roommate I guess. Don: Are you kidding? He's a geek in his mommies old halloween gear. Whatever. I bet his coffin smells like Doritos and feet. Not staying in that room, forget it. Ta'Shai: I like her but I think she is a fake. I can take it or leave it on the roommate thing. Fiona: Fake, especially after reading her chat and she's talking about her website and all her books, etc. I'm so glad she got dissed in the hallway (everybody is starting to figure her out). Still, I would probably pick her over Avocado for 2nd runner up so that I could look through her drawers, closet, etc.

Fiona - If you're talking a weekend get away on some fabulous island drinking rum ... well duh, I'll take Fiona.Art - If you're talking a weekend of hanging out in the local pub ... I'll take Art because my big mouth always seems to get me into trouble. Art would be a nice ally to have sitting next to me if some redneck wants a piece of me. Avocado - If you're talking a weekend get away at a nudist colony, then I'll take Avo. Something just tells me I might feel umm more manly standing next to him nakkie as a jaybird. Don - If you're talking a weekend on the bad side of the tracks ... then I'll take Don. I would be more than willing to push Don into a mugger as I run in the other direction. Ta'Shai - If you're talking a weekend of spiritual enlightenment ... then I'll take Ta'Shai. If I have to choose just one Alt and the type of weekend, then I'll take the Fiona weekend. Roasting on a beach and putting suntan lotion all over one another sound pretty good to me. Would a muzzle be included in this weekend?

Fiona - Seems to worried over whom is fake and who isnt, i mean she is so worried on Nichole being fake and she isn't looking at the facts thats right in front of her eyes, Erics a wine ##### lil prick, he even said he had Fiona raped around his lil finger, for being *SUPOSE* a witch, she cant even see whats going on around her, Come on *REALTY CHECK* Eric needs to go, i wanna jump thro my screen and say, listen little boy stop your damn badgering and pointing your finger calling fake, because you certainly stand in the line ALONG with Don, his lil chant he did at the alt meeting calling Nichole a fake, ( i donna he seems fake to me, and i liked him in the beginning, his attitude and just something about him turned me away ) I like Art, he hasn't done much to show that he is out of line, he isn't to preachy nor dramatic, I think id chose him, i wouldn't be scared to stay in a room or doubt his beliefs, so far he has showed me more then few the others have.. Ta'shia I like her to, only because she is in for helping, she has done good on a couple of them, and hasn't yet showed me fault on her.. But im Sorry DON and Fiona the so called witch? i dont see it, All i can say ( mocking Don the so called Vampire's voice FAKE FAKE FAKE FAKE )

I had to leave ten minutes before the episode ended and I am wondering who got axed? I am glad that Nicole got safe for the time being and I am pretty sure that she is not falling for the Eric stuff. How could she. She is pretty chatty and Avo had a point. And did anyone catch the two ads they had for a murder show called 5 days to midnight? Looks very cool. Who's that actor? He looks familiar to me.

Hey Misto!I just started watching this last week (Episode 8)when CSI was a repeat. What a fun show- except I'm still not sure what the objective is...is spiritual enlightenment something that can be measured or rewarded? Very strange, really. Anyway, to answer your question, just based on last week's show, I would choose Art first- I am very comfortable with his type and would love to talk about shamanism with him. Ta'Shai is a close second- I just didn't get the opportunity to see her as much in this last episode. I too have some interest in learning more about voodoo. I have been to a few of their rituals and found it fascinating... I went to one that called in the spirit of insects, and we had the most beautiful/bizarre looking moth I'd ever seen come visit. It was huge! Powerful stuff. Avocado is cute but way too preachy and earnest. Fiona is a bimbo on a broomstick and Don is a poser (had too many of these in my life already).
