"Episode 3 - Celebrity Apprentice"
LAST EDITED ON 03-20-11 AT 09:18 PM (EST)

Oh, this should be fun. Create an ad campaign for Camping World - can you see these prima donnas doing anything resembling camping?

Even better ... the men choose Gary Busey to be project manager. Niki Taylor is the project manager for the women by default - she's the only one who's ever gone camping. For the men, Dicque has that Survivor experience living off the rats in Borneo.

1. "Which century is it anyway?"
I missed the first twenty minutes due to TAR delay and I don't record this thing in any fashion 'cause it's always a crapshoot to see if I'll care enough to start ignoring it, so I didn't get to see the glorious failure of logic which would put Gary Busey in charge of anything. And it also meant missing a couple of story elements, such as 'What was the true purpose of this challenge?', 'Why hasn't anyone thrown Dionne out the window yet?', and just for Pepe, 'How is Survivor not to camping like Apprentice is to business?' So because I missed a bit of the editing, all I've got is random notes.

But at least I got a delay!
-----------------------------------------------------------------
Watch Star's expression when Niki initially takes the blame in the Boardroom. (BTW, that was a clock firing. Given the amount of time left in the episode, it was just a question of whether she'd quit or let Donald point the finger.) Those first reactions weren't 'Oh, look: total class in action. I'm so honored to be in its presence.' They were 'What an idiot. I would never take blame for anything and never have. Plus she's robbing me of the opportunity to orchestrate her firing. Bitch.' And then she decided to play nice and rally the group escort purely for the cameras.

Calling her two-faced may be leaving her a few faces short.
-----------------------------------------------------------------
And once again, Richard plays the insult card, then tries to whip it back fast enough to leave a paper cut trail. 'I didn't insult you while I was in the middle of insulting you.' Admittedly, there's a chance he's had some hard times with a portion of the fanbase, but you'd think he'd know better than to slap the tar on a brush that big. Of course, it's Richard: he probably thinks all of his artistic subjects just needed the paint that badly. Thank him already, why don't they?
-----------------------------------------------------------------
All credit to Mark for making the evidence plan, even if he never got to use it. 'Donald pretends he never sees any footage. I'm going to create footage and make him watch!' But when your team wins, no one ultimately cares -- and the executive per diem actually liked having Jose doing nothing but throwing the ball around, at least when it happened during the presentation. (Which makes some sense: at seven per team, having everyone present is an excess of cooks.) Still, at least Mark had the presence of mind to try. If this was based in skill at all, he could last a while. (It isn't.)
-----------------------------------------------------------------
So in Dionne-world, being honest and polite makes you a hussy. Good to know. Okay, no one ever be polite and honest to Dionne again. You wouldn't want her to think of you that way, would you?
-----------------------------------------------------------------
Jose in the Boardroom. 'I sense someone is about to bring up my laziness. I'd better use the moment to praise someone else's strength.' Did he just luck into that, or...?
-----------------------------------------------------------------
A $200,000 camper is affordable for the whole family! Well, this was filmed before the latest gas spike. And as was pointed out, you get more space than you do in a lot of Manhattan apartments. Come to think of it, this would be the city living space bargain of the year if only parking came free...

And what does that rolling home have to do with camping? It's not the great outdoors if you brought your apartment with you.
-----------------------------------------------------------------
Did you know LaToya could speak that well? There was a salesperson waiting to come out and nobody knew it. I was impressed by how well she kept the patter and information flowing. This could be a weapon -- which means the other women will now keep her away from all sales tasks. After all, the goal is to get her fired.
-----------------------------------------------------------------
Men. Don't. Read. Manuals.

Besides, where else would you put a television? The dashboard?
-----------------------------------------------------------------
Oh, Marlee: damning with faint praise ever since she became totally fed up with Dionne, which was about five seconds before the rest of us did. She just might be able to argue rings around people when the time comes, and I'm not sure anyone there has figured that out...

Also from the Marlee department: I'm not sure giving Gary greater access to the rest of the world is really going to help the actual world, but it will make a big difference in his life. Now he can have his reactions to what's actually going on around him. Gawds help us all. Yes, a more-aware Busey is going to be such a benefit to humanity -- actually, what were you thinking?!?
-----------------------------------------------------------------
John Rich and the 'Shoot Me' sign. There's a man who knows his genre.
-----------------------------------------------------------------
So what can we say about Gary Busey that doesn't come across as unfair bashing of someone who (arguably) truly can't help his own behavior?

...

...pretty much the whole problem, isn't it? Most of the others have, on some level, made at some kind of choice or two which led to their current personalities. Gary? Had an impact make a few decisions for him. There's nothing we can say about Gary which someone hasn't considered putting on a commitment paper, but how much of it is he truly responsible for?

*considers*

What kind of idiots put that in charge?

I missed the end because while earnestly and ardently praying to all the gods that are, that ever were, and that ever will be, that somehow this was going to turn on Star (or at least the Old Windbag), I hit the wrong button and lost it.

So I gather that Niki was fired.

There must be a god or two that I forgot to include.

Typical. Star is going to follow in the foot prints from hell of Piers Morgan and Joan Rivers and win this thing.

As for Gary, how in the world did the men's team manage to win? I guess it was the signage thing. And as for choices, he did make that boneheaded choice to ride a motorcycle without a helmet one sunny California day. Motorcyclists never win highway arguments, and helmet-less riders are especially mentally challenged, even before they scrape one or the other of their frontal lobes off on the asphalt.

And I suppose the being 'dropped on the head' {not so much 'as a child'} thing, really CAN be an excuse when it comes to Gary....he's the person you most likely want to make fun of, but it's just not PC in very many ways.

Can't even imagine having to work around or with him for any length of time. I do, however, have a few relatives who are very near his personna, and they have never been in an accident-that I know of. Maybe they need one to knock some sense into their brains? Not nice, Mindy, not nice!!

After all, it IS the 20th Century, if you've been in a coma for sometime. Poor Nikki-she is def. getting the reputation that most models eventually get. Air-headed and useful for not much of anything more than a very great body. I think she was just beyond nervous, and in the end, she showed class. AND, by doing so, outshown Ms. Jones, and the Devil herself! They were left more speechless than Marlee, which was quite nice for a change..

John Rich is really growing on me. I didn't like him when he was doing the 'Gone Country' series, mostly because he was taking himself and his art way too seriously. Now that he's a team-player, he really seems to be a nice guy. Just don't step on his music or his fans! And I totally agree, as would Meat Loaf, and the guy with the dreds. What's up with Jose, anyway? Is there anything that makes this guy happy? Is there anything that he doesn't find fault with? Is there anything he will get off his butt to DO?

Besides that, I never realized he had a tic, but then, I never really knew who he was, except in name only. The dude needs to get busy and not make himself so noticable at being a slug. That's all I gotta say about that.

Otherwise, I was SO over-the-top that the men won again!! As far as I'm concerned, we can keep knocking divas down, until they are far and few between. Hoping that Star and Dionne make major mistakes soon, but I think Star has too much going for her at this point. Time will tell. And I have a feeling that Trump may fear and admire lawyers.....I KNOW he admires those with degrees, but this is not Apprentice to him, it's a charity spot. Time will tell....

OK, true confession time- I actually do record this and it is oddly fascinating this season.

I hate Star! I hate how she acts, how she speaks and how she looks. The only nice thing I can find to say about her is she seems like she is smart and she speaks well.

I wished Dionne never would have done this, because I went all of these years liking her, but not anymore.

When Meatloaf left the boardroom to go get the guitar, he looked like an excited little kid wanting to show their parents something before he lost their attention.

Jose just really doesn't care.

Loving John Rich.

Gary - What can you say, except the team won. I think Donald makes fun of him, right to his face, which is pretty rude. It was hilarious when Ivanka went to visit Gary. Her icy face actually looked kind of confused.

Are the donation checks to the charities a lot smaller this season?

Missed the 1st 20 min too but doesn't look like I missed too much.

Dionne's smug look when someone (Star) is berating someone else is getting tiresome. Dionne is getting tiresome; maybe Dionne is just tired.

I'm gonna hate Star going much longer. I didn't hate so much Piers or Joan; they were entertaining; but Star is not entertaining. She is just mean - like what's her name that Piers fought with (one of the regular apprentices who came back as a celebrity - see how well I remember her?).

I'm loving John Rich - course I'm country to the bone, so...
I loved how he was ready to fight to defend his fan base - as would any performer worth his salt. I think Richard learned "when to hold 'em & when to fold 'em".
Loved that the manager & Trump loved John's music & song; I expected something to be said to Jose about his being so against it - maybe it was & we didn't get to see it.

I don't recall hearing/seeing that much arguing after winning. Course I can see how Lil Jon was upset with Gary.

The men all seem to be getting camera time & making a statement.
I still don't know all the women's names.

Loving Marlee - & loving how her interpreter puts expression in his voice when he is talking for her - makes it seem so much more real. At first I wondered why there wasn't a female as her interpreter as that would be more realisitic; but now I like the male voice; you know immediately when marlee is talking

Voldy? She did a dating show. It's amazing what Imperio can do.

I think having Jack around is more sensible when she's in a group of women. As that lone male voice at the table, his tones cut through the buzz of verbal shrapnel and instantly let everyone know Marlee has something to say -- or would if the remaining majority was capable of listening.

8. "RE: Episode 3 - Celebrity Apprentice"
To think that I just now discovered the guilty pleasure of this crazy show! I owe it to my teeny-bopper idol, David Cassidy. He was the only reason I got sucked in and how ironic that he got spit out immediately. I now have a totally different opinion of him and it does not compare to his 1970's halo.
I am thinking that John Rich is going to emerge as the best/smartest/most likable before this is all over. But since I have never watched it, I don't know what The Donald is really after - besides the White House, of course.
Marlee is quite the force to be reckoned with - Star better watch out. She won't take anybody's carp. Dionne has lost quite a lot of likability in just a couple of weeks. Meat Loaf is a hero in my eyes and Gary is an entertainer through and through but I sure would hate to be taking direction from him or assuming that he absorbed what you just said. Star Jones is a piece of work. I hope nobody thinks they can trust her
E V E R. Niki - I didn't know much about her before this but I have the utmost respect for her. It's quite possible she was tired of being there and welcomed the escape; however, she handled herself with dignity from start to finish. I didn't know models could be such nice, down to earth people. I have a feeling that's not the type to win on this show. If it comes down to Richard Hatch and Star Jones it will be fun to see.

With this bunch, Hatch's reputation could actually be getting a make over.

In comparison, he actually seems non-self delusional. And non-egotistical. And gets along well with others. Three gold stars.

He also had the line of the night imo, when Trump asked gary about how the task went and he went on and on about how great it was and how he was a good leader, so trump asked Hatch how he was, and he said, "I believe that he believes what he says is true." I just liked it because thats exactly how gary is heh.
