Last night's Apprentice finale has left such a bad taste in my mouth. I'm an avid Apprentice watcher and have been since season 1. I predicted early on that Randal and Rebecca would make it to the final two. Or at least, I hoped so.Either decision would have been a good one for Trump. Randal brings experience, degrees which are unmatched and kindness (generally). Rebecca brings freshness, strength and composure. Both were deserving.
Donald Trump shouldn't have done what he did last night. I was really hoping he would hire both as it was a win/win for everyone, including him. He would have made off with TWO great employees, but now he's left with ONE who is taking a lot of heat from people across the country.
I think Randal's response was in poor judgment. The audience was obviously thrilled when Trump proposed what he did. And when Randal said what he did, the audience booed him. Bad choice, Randal. Bad choice!
And then Trump sits there, stunned and goes along with what Randal says. I couldn't believe that he did that. If Trump wants Rebecca, and apparently he did, why did he allow Randal the opportunity to sabatoge that?
And then let's get to Rebecca. How unfair to her. To get her hopes up and then have them dashed within an instant. Her words were, 'That's unfortunate' as she shook Trump's hand. And it truly is.
I'm angry that Trump suggested something he didn't fulfill. I'm completely dismayed at Randal's response. How would it have hurt him to share the spotlight? He would have been a hero but is now looked down upon. And Rebecca...well, I have no doubt that she will continue to shine. This little bump in the road won't keep her down for long, if at all.
Trump, you're a smart man. You should grab Rebecca anyways (if she'd still have you). You went against your gut last night during a moment of weakness. Never thought I'd see that happen.
I'm still debating on whether I'll watch the next season. I'm so dismayed by last nights display that I don't know if I want to deal with it again. Time will tell.
