LAST EDITED ON 02-10-04 AT 07:47 PM (EST) ROFL!!! I got that one too.
Long live Rudy! "I really like him, but not in a homosexual way, that's fer sure!" ..... One of the classic Survivor lines spoken by Navy Seal Rudy Boesch, way back in Survivor 1. Rudy was talking about his friendship with Richard Hatch, a member of Rudy's alliance who happened to be gay. Hatch, of course, went on to win Survivor 1. >Sorry for the totally out of >context Survivor joke there!

I like Larissa better in just about every way. She is kinder, smarter, more intelligent, and more attractive. She's better looking (She has great skin.) I think she is definitely more interesting. Larissa is a girl I could talk to, I would have trouble not acting board if I was alone with Melana. Also she definitely seems like a more genuine human being. I like the fact that she got mad in the first episode, and then got over it. I like the fact that she could admit she was wrong. I like the fact that she seems to stick up for the AJ's, and won't tolerate them being bullied. But best of all- she seems to have the elusive quality that seperates the truly beautiful from the simply pretty... She is sweet. "I'm the kid that no one knows. I live a life I never chose. It's not really a question of what would make me feel better. It just makes me suspicious when a woman can switch from character to character with the facility that Larissa has displayed. Makes me wonder which one is the "real" Larissa, and, for me, it casts a shadow on her sincerity. That's all.

>Well, obviously the producers set the >scenarios up. What I meant >by "setting them up" in >the dodgeball game was coming >out in a cute gym >outfit and introducing the game >(hostess duties). She seems to >switch in and out of >two characters: hostess and "object >of affection." Her "hostess" character >has led me to suspect >the sincerity of her "object >of affection" character. I agree completely, and have felt that way for several shows now. I like her and think she is a nice person, but I also think she is quite inteligent, too. Inteligent enough to realize how badly she has been set up by the producers, as well as how to gracefully wade through the minefield that she has been placed in. She knows that if she ends up with a himbo, she'll be portrayed as shallow and vapid, so she plays the game and picks a Joe in the end. This way, she comes off to America as a good-hearted girl who saw the prince in the frog, and her reputation is saved. Two days after arriving back home, it's back to business as usual, and she writes off the whole adventure as a life experience. And I don't mean that as a knock against her. It's just that I don't see any of the Joes having what it takes to be her man for the long haul.

LAST EDITED ON 02-12-04 AT 03:13 PM (EST)I see your point. That has certainly occured to me a number of times as well. We will see. Because you know that the press will be talking about whatever happens to the couple after the show. It should be interesting to find out if you are right or wrong. >Two days after arriving back home, >it's back to business as >usual, and she writes off >the whole adventure as a >life experience. They are both wenches. I would have my way with them then kick them in the butt out the door.EVERYONE here HAS to know that there is no way in hell that either one of these women would pick one of the average joes before the good looking guys. It must be in their contracts that they had to keep an average joe on the show the whole time. Just take a look what went on in the last date. She hardly kissed the guy that won the race for the average joes but she was all over the good looking guy like grease on a McDonalds french fry. ie. they were and are both very shallow people and there for it would be my pleasure to have my way with them then kick their a$$ out the door.

>EVERYONE here HAS to know that >there is no way in >hell that either one of >these women would pick one >of the average joes before >the good looking guys. Yes ... unless of course the good looking guys are total jerks, which is exactly what they appear to be. >It must be in their contracts >that they had to keep >an average joe on the >show the whole time. According to an article in TV Guide, Larissa is required by the show to eliminate an equal number of Joes and himbos each episode. >Just take a look what went >on in the last date. > She hardly kissed the >guy that won the race >for the average joes but >she was all over the >good looking guy like grease >on a McDonalds french fry. Actually, her and Tony spent more quality time together than she did with any of the himbos. >ie. they were and are both >very shallow people and there >for it would be my >pleasure to have my way >with them then kick their >a$$ out the door. LOL ... you'd like to think that Larissa is really as crude as you are, don't you? That way you can justify whatever you want to do with her.

23. "Larissa is the One, hands down!!!" |
While Steve is correct that many of us men folk would like to "have our way" with either Melanoma or Larissa, Larissa is also someone that I think many guys would like for a real girl friend if this were possible. Her web site, www.larissameek.com, is obviously the work of a young woman who wants to be taken seriously for her art, and she is not just a pretty face trying to get ahead for this quality alone. Melanoma was your typical airhead Kansas City Chiefs cheer leader, and as a Raider fan I should have known she was not going to choose one of the Joes!!!Larissa has a bigger problem than Melanoma, and that is that there are no standout really good guy Joes like Adam in the first series. IMHO, had Adam been in this group, Larissa might have chosen him........ As it stands, if she chooses a Joe, it will probably be Tony, based on their mutual interest in art. If she doesn't choose one of the Joes it will be because this group isn't that great, and I will still respect her in the morning afterwards.... Good points, Packard. But personally I think we should keep in mind that what Larissa consideres to be attractive may be different than what some people expect.>Larissa >is also someone that I think >many guys would like for >a real girl friend if this were >possible. Exactly! >Her web site, >www.larissameek.com, is obviously the work of >a young woman >who wants to be taken seriously >for her art, and she >is not >just a pretty face trying to >get ahead for this quality >alone. Well stated! >Melanoma was your typical airhead Kansas >City Chiefs cheer >leader, and as a Raider fan >I should have known she >was not >going to choose one of the >Joes!!! Very true! There is a big difference between jock-chasing airheads and sensitive artists, as I've said from the beginning. >Larissa has a bigger problem than >Melanoma, and that is that >there are no standout really good >guy Joes like Adam in >the first series. Well, In terms of personality, all the Joes are *good guys* this time around, as opposed to Average Joe I, when a lot of them fought among themselves. I think your point is that In terms of looks, the Joes this time are not as attractive as the first time around. What you may be forgetting is that Larissa seems to like latins and italians, and there are plenty of them among both the Joes and the himbos this time. So attractiveness is in the eye of the beholder. >IMHO, had Adam >been in this group, Larissa >might have chosen him........ Maybe, maybe not. >As >it stands, if she chooses >a Joe, it will probably be >Tony, based on their mutual >interest in art. I agree, although obviously I think she will chose Tony.

Nobody can pull off wearing purple eyeshadow like Larissa. I do like her personality better than Melana's. I think in real life these two women would be in the same dating pool and neither of them would accept a drink from any of the Joes on this show. I appreciate that Larissa seems to have more personality depth than Melana but I still don't trust her. I have no faith that in the end she'll pick a Joe. And isn't that the only reason we keep watching? If she picks a hunk (please don't let it be Michael C.) then we'll all be hating her whether she is better than Melana or not.

Not so sure about that. In Episode 4, right after meeting them for the first time, Larissa stated that she had never dated guys as hot as the himbos. So perhaps she isn't in the same dating pool that you think she is. In addition, once she had a chance to date these guys, she questioned their honesty and sincerity because they were so smooth and perfect. That was clearly why she booted Todd last time. Who she ends up keeping at the end may surprise you.

LAST EDITED ON 02-21-04 AT 06:22 AM (EST)Yeah I saw that. But she also has a link to Mike Spitaletto's website there. So a link for Tony, by itself, is no big deal. I guess what I was really asking about was if she had something on her website (other than a link) that showed how much she admires Tony. But It's all academic now, since she has eliminated Tony from the game. >Check out www.larissameek.com and then click >on "Links" in the menu >on the left side. >You'll see Tony's name on >the list of links that >comes up.

I think I'm going to have to go with Melena. Melena didn't totally freak out when she first met the AJ's, she didn't act like the show was one big audition, she didn't kiss EVERY guy, she seemed really interested in both Zack and the guy she chose at the end. Larissa was a complete jerk right after she met the AJ's, she doesn't seem to connect with any of the guys, she seems so fake. Conclusion: Melena = real, but shallow Larissa = fake, but good actor
