IV said that Christie is like her graduation flowers, sunflowers. IV made a big symbolic moment about sunflowers closing at night. What a profound idiot! Sunflower DO NOT close at night. Maybe IV was thinking of day lilies? Anyway, I thought it was a great curse for Christie who is blind 24/7.

I wondered about that, too. Once a sunflower is in full bloom, there's no way those little yellow petals can cover its "face". I think it's moon flowere that close during the day. Maybe IV thought, since moon flowers close during the day, sunflowers close at night.

I know that morning glories close their flowers at night, and some lillies too, but I can't remember their names right now.

But sunflowers? No, they don't close up at night. What does happen to make sunflowers unique is that their faces follow the sun from the east to the west. Don't know exactly what they do at night, but the follow-the-sun thing -- that's why they're called SUNflowers.

"Profound idiot"... I LOVE that expression!!!
