Gosh, wonder what happened to Jodi's J-Jewel listing on ebay?

Anyone know if it was pulled because of shilling?

This listing (#8940488861) has been removed or is no longer available. Please make sure you entered the right item number.

If the listing was removed by eBay, consider it canceled. Note: Listings that have ended more than 90 days ago will no longer appear on eBay.

Try searching for another item now.

Jodi, you are a liar and a con, same as your girlfriend Christie.
Keep your business dealings ethicial, dearies. tsk tsk

You're right Jodi's necklace has been pulled off e-bay. That's strange because I just looked at it for the first time about an hour ago. Piss-T had bid $50. and someone came along and bid $51. Piss-T had out bid the previous bidder to her by $14...why I don't know. Something smells fishy here - PISS-T,...TAKE A BATH, WILL YA!!!

Jodi had a reserve price on it, which means it won't sell until her price is met, and you know who met the price so that it would sell. I think it's hilarious!! And to think poor Niambi was put on the back burner for these CONS!!

I don't understand turquoisedove...there we over 25 days remaining for people to bid, Piss-T bid 50 dollars, some other person bid 51 dollars...then POOF it's off the site.
Obviously, PissT raised the bid and some other loser got the carp. Why wouldn't it remain on e-bay to see if some fool pays 500 dollars at the end of the remaining 20 something days? I'm confused.

Her myspace page says that the items were removed by ebay because of the 10% contribution to Cain's college fund. Maybe they did'nt recognize it as a reputable charity.??? Suposidly, she has re-posted them.

A someone whos been selling on EBAY for over 10 years
( yes some of us do sell on EBAY and are HONEST..we have
purple stars 500 feedbacks and no red negs or no grey neutral comments)

anyway if a SO HG old SO HG friends are doing STAW BIDDING
IE..having your friends bid on your item so it pumps up
the price.. so you get more cash..its a major ebay no no..

Ebay is not stupid..all the new bidders have to do is check
a SO HG feedback file comments click on the ads that are
finished and see who the other bidders were..on her old ads..
it takes about 5 mins for a new bidder to learn everything
you want to know about a seller and learn before you
bid if that person is HONEST..or a EBAY wanna be
who rushes in..and sells crap charges outragious Shipping
and handling fees.. that what the feedback is for..
buyer beware..

if a SO friend ebay name comes up a LOT..on all of SO HG ads..well EBAY will block that friend on bidding..

and prob send a warning to that SO HG seller

3 warnings for any violations..and your account can
be suspended or canceled..big time..

I have blocked bidders for HIT n Run..bids..ie two people
are borded and bid on items with no intention of ever paying..

we sellers get all kind of excuses... my dog ate my check..
i lost the mo ... blah blah blah..

the SO HG SELLER also could have PULLED THE AD...
sometimes and its really rare..you will have an ebay item
listed for 3, 5, 10 days.. and it gets broken..while your
waiting for the item to end.. or damaged..
or SO HG could have changed her mind..

but ebay frowns on a seller pulling their ad..
Ebay wants its percent of the final price sold..

so it could be anything..
but if SO guest are bidding on a SO sellers ebay
ad a big RED FLAG goes up ...

its called COMMON SENSE..most of the HG havnt a clue..
=snicker=

there are a lot of sweet little ol blue hair ladies
who sell on ebay..its their way of having fun
chatting with the sellers..bringing in income..
most are disabled with real health issues
ie..too sick to get hired too proud to go on welfare

and a lot of rural folks who dont have a walmart on
the next farm field.. use ebay a lot to find items
they need ..

its a great place to sell if your HONEST..and after working
retail for over 38 years I am..

me..i would run like hell from any SO guest selling
anything..

until their feedback is around 200-300 with no grey neutrals
and no red negs..

have a great day..and LADIES..please be careful out there..
look before you leap at these ebay SO HG ads..

CHECK THAT FEEDBACK !!!!!!!

What's worse is that she is touting it as brand new BUT that it is something she wore on the show (how can that be brand-new?). As if her fame should increase it's worth.

GoodnightLittleBear...Jodi wore the same exact necklace on the show that is the same one on e-bay? If so, was she talking on the show about her making it herself? And what kind of business is this really. You have no benefits. You have to sell one HE!L of a lot of necklaces to pay the rent, etc., not to mention Mr. Toadie's wifey, Piss-T's expenses as well. Doesn't make much sense to me.

Wow.......that must be some heavy necklace. Priority shipping for the first pound would be about $4.05 depending on where it is going to. She's charging $8.95? A flat rate Priority box measuring 11 x 8.5 x 5.5 is only $8.10! I hate ebay sellers who try to make money on the shipping.

She claims that is in "new" condition but if she wore it on the show, it should be classified at least as "slightly used" especially it is something she wore on her body. Yes it is the necklace she wore on the show. I noticed the bidding has shot up to 51 dollars.

It's sad that these women from SO have to do whatever they can to hold on to that long fading 15 minutes of fame.

Actually, that necklace isn't only used but according to Jodi's blog was worn by Christie during their time in the house.
Maybe the bloated cost of shipping includes handling charges--the time it had to take to clean it after letting Christie use it.

As already mentioned, it appears that very ordinary and used necklace was pulled because of Christie's questionable charity fund, her little brother.
What whores. I just hope eBay continues to keep a watchful eye on two because I think they're just getting warmed in their new jobs which is scamming fans.

Christie and Jodi represent to me what Starting Over became and why I'm not supporting any effort for Season4. I would hate to see a continuation of such crap and opportunities abused by another batch of housemates... and fans literally buying not only their lies but their junk.
phew..whole thing really stinks, imo.

used necklaces, dollar candles and paper charms - almost funny

The bid on Jodi's necklace is now up to $71.

No wonder eBay took it down because of the "Raising Cain" bit. Not only is this not an actual charity, but it also seems kinda questionable to have Christie bid on an item when she is getting a portion of the proceeds. Isn't that basically like bidding on your own item?

That's so funny...because I asked her that same question when her first batch came out...I asked her that and I asked her if they were store bought and decorated....unfortunately I had asked her the question why no picture, and she ONLY answered that question.and never bothered to answer that question, which led me to beleive they were cheap store candles.

HAHAHA

Piss-T couldn't hand dip a potato chip much less a candle. I doubt she could hand pour one either unless it came out of a Jack Daniel's bottle.

I was wondering what happened to that fabu crap necklace, too! I wanted to find out why the bids jumped from $36 to $50 (Piss-t's bid) and lo and behold!! I find out here!! Ya'll are some regular Nancy Drews!! I also e-mailed Piss-T about the cost of her NEW! LIMITED EDITION! "candeles" being so much more than the last bunch of turds and haven't gotten an answer yet...
Oh, that's right.. She's on vacation!! It's been so "stressful" .. Think she's having a tequila sunrise long about now?? I sure hope ebay has their eyes on these two.
They are total CON ARTISTS, IMHO

Isn't Amy Grant (past houseguest, red hair) one of the bidding names for Jodi's necklace? Someone outbid her own self by bidding twice! LOL!

The red-haired HG was Amy Harkin. Amy Grant is the reddish-haired recording artist, (though I doubt the same "Amy Grant" who is bidding on Jodi's necklace, LOL).

The bid history does look weird:
---------------------------------------------------

User ID Bid Amount Date of bid

rachelgtx ( 13) US $71.00 May-25-06 14:11:48 PDT

dricha6809 ( 65) US $70.00 May-25-06 11:27:58 PDT

rachelgtx ( 13) US $65.00 May-25-06 14:11:39 PDT

amygrant34 ( 0 ) US $60.00 May-25-06 12:42:57 PDT

amygrant34 ( 0 ) US $50.00 May-25-06 10:59:23 PDT

sierah ( 14) US $10.27 May-25-06 10:24:39 PDT
---------------------------------------------------

The bid immediately jumps from $10.27 to $50.00?? And "amygrant" outbids herself by $10???? (It also seems this is her first transaction on eBay.)

Did eBay delete more bids than just Christie's?

I'm not really familiar with eBay, although the rest of my family loves it. I always thought the basic premise of the site was akin to a cyber-auction, and occasionally a coveted item would yield some fierce bidding wars. But generally, the stuff I've seen advertised on eBay has always been considerably less expensive than what I would pay for a comparable item in a store or through mail order. I guess they're well within their rights to do so, but these women are putting up items that are considerably more expensive than what I would pay if I bought the same thing in a store (or made it myself). Are these the positive qualities the LC's were trying to develop in their disciples?

You know, I looked at this particular bidding history just a little while ago. What you guys are saying is the Christie met Jodi's reserve price and then continued bidding on Jodi's necklace to drive the price up? Was Christie's name on the first bid history?

Then it all comes down, and the necklace gets relisted with a new number. Is the seller saying that the Cain College fund invalidated the bidding?

Now, I don't see any mention of Christie in the new bid history, but I was wondering the same thing about "Amy Grant". Why would she outbid herself? Was there a Christie bid in between the two Amy Grant bids on the previous bidding history that was removed (can you even do that? And if that's the case, shouldn't the bidding process start over - or did it? And who, BTW, is Amy Grant?

This just has the look of being fixed. If that's what these two are doing, they should be ashamed of themselves.

My sister is a CPA, and there"s something she said to me once that really stuck with me, "There are a lot of ways to make a lot of money -- if you don't let ethics get in your way".

I really like that quote your sister told you, Seasoned Refinement.I agree.

This sounds fixed to me as well. I actually have liked Jodi through out this time. I didn't think she would do something like this. In all my Ebay auctions and I have done a bunch at this moment, my stuff rarely gets bid on until at least 2 days before the end. Of course people have bid sometimes when I first put the auction on, so that is great but mainly it's all gone down to the wire, last day, 30 minutes left. However, they all bid in only 50 cent increments for me. I've had bidding wars down to the last second and it's all been in 50 cent increments by people who have some feedback. This is of course, only in my own experience. But why would a buyer boost up the price right away? That's not usually done. The point is to pay as cheaply as possible, I would assume.

So, this Jodi auction sounds fishy to me. It's a shame.
Was the singer Amy Grant mentioned at all on the show? Like did someone like her or something? Maybe they are riding on name recognition to give the item more celeb status.

Seasoned, I think your sister is onto something. I think that's what happened @ Enron??? Ken Lay & Jeff Skilling sure didn't let ethics get in their way!! But I digress... Since old "amy Grant" hasn't ever BID on anything before, couldn't it be PISS-T's nom de plume or something?? All she'd have to do is go get herself another e-mail address @ yahoo or hotmail, jump onto the ebay site and voila!!! It sort of makes sense to think it might be Piss-T, because her last bid was erased, and we all know she "likes" to run up the price of things!!!
Just a thought... Or possibly CAIN is "Amy Grant"???

SR I like the quote by your sister also. I am constantly amazed that ANYONE can have such little ethics as it appears Christie & Jodi have. It's worse for these two since they have numerous times said publically they were "standing in their truth", living honestly, etc. Sadly, they have shown us all who they really are ... shown us their truth!

creepyoldwoman, I don't remember there ever being any mention of the public Amy Grant on SO but anyone can use any name they want on eBay. Since the "AmyGrant" who was bidding on Jodi's necklace had never bought anything before, my guess would be that Christie & Jodi are playing their little games again. Even more reason to think it was Piss-T is because whoever put these bids was stupid enough to run the bidding up very early in the auction and worse, outbid herself. Now that is one stupid person!!! OR, maybe she found out that $50 didn't satisfy Jodi's desires ... or maybe Jodi told her she'd set $59 as her minimum reserve, and Piss-T, being the academic wiz that she is, thought $50 would be above that!

Edited for spelling ... yes, something foreign to Piss-T

creepyoldwoman,

What you described as your bidding experience is exactly what my hubby told me. If he wants something, he clicks the watch this item prompt. Sometimes people don't start bidding until the time is almost gone, and then the competition can get fierce.

BTW, I have intended to mention this so many times, and I always forget: I love your screen name - always have! I laughed the first time I saw it, and I still smile every time it comes up on a thread. I picture you running a daycare center called, "Creepyoldwoman's House of Fun for Well-Behaved Kids".

26mitogo,

I know Sharnina made that sig for you, but I keep meaning to tell you how much I like it. It is so appropriate for you -- I can almost see you running off into the sunset. You would have put the SO 5K participants to shame (especially Christie, who appeared to have come in.....last place...Of course, we can't trust what we see on SO, so who knows - they certainly wanted us to think she came in.....last place)

On eBay if a bidder has placed a 'maximum' bid on an item and another bidder places a bid that is lower than the other persons maximum bid and sees that their bid is lower, if they place another bid it will show up as two sequential bids as long as the bids are lower than the 1st persons maximum bid. Snipers who wait until the last few seconds to place a bid sometimes will place a maximum bid but they usually are trying to snipe an item cheap out from under another bidder. Most snipers use sniping auction software programs these days to place their last minute bids.

Right. Because if you bid right away then this attracts people to the item when they are doing their search. It's really putting a flare on it for other bidders to look. I expect a bidding war when I get a bid that still has 2 or more days to go before the auction ends.

I think some of the bidding pattern and upping the price right away is due to their inexperience with ebay. As they progress and become rabid ebay sellers they will learn all the 'tricks' and will come to realize that most legit auction items sit stagnant until, as you said, the last few minutes and then the bidding frenzy gets heated as everyone vies to be the last (and highest) bidder when the timer runs out. It's obvious that there are a lot of SO'ers who are trying to help each other get the biggest bang for the buck by bidding up and then they'll all sit back and hope some schmuck will come up with the final (and highest bid) in the end. I have to wonder if the bidder with the 'racheltx' name isn't the Rachel from SO too - wasn't she from Texas? And the one with the word 'rich' in their name could be Kim Bookman - these women aren't even smart enough to come up with abstract names, something that DOESN'T connect them to SO - just goes to show how stuck on themselves they really are. I would imagine that as time goes by it will be harder to detect which bidders are legit or not as I'm sure they read these boards and will soon enough figure out that they'll have to be less transparent to pull of their cons successfully. I just wish the buyers (the legit ones) would get their head out of their a$$ and stop being so star-struck themselves - they're like the people handing out money to panhandlers - they only help to promote the activity. Again, like panhandlers, if these SO ebay sellers didn't get the bids and the high prices for their junk they'd eventually go away ( or so we could hope)

Mesha, Rhonda has jewelry on her website as gifts, not ebay.

Their 'agent' was jacking up the bids too. I think toadie got scared and pulled her auction off and relisted it, thanks to Christie shilling it up, notice Christie didn't bid on the new auction??
With Christina's purse she did put effort into it. She had to crochet the outside, pull out the sewing machine and sew the inside and top, and separate bag, attach the donut clasp, braid the strap, toadie just put beads on a string, christie put ribbon on a glass. I wonder if Jill actually made these or bought the shirts??? I'm also waiting for Lisa1's jewels.

If they get greedy and bid the item up too much and no one outbids them it really just means that Toadie has to pay the E-bay fees on the item - Piss-T or RachelgTX (could that be Rachel?) don't have to really pay Toadie - she can just wait awhile, claim the bidder didn't pay up and relist and try again. With all these sudden first-time bidders bidding on these items I don't think it takes an Einstein to figure out what game they're playing. I guess it's just their unbelievable luck - first they're picked from what was probably thousands of women who applied to be on the show and then they find a nitch on e-bay selling to apparently really stupid, star-struck women - how lucky can a person get LOL ??

Thanks for clearing that up! All the eBay rules and bidding things are listed clearly on the eBay site. It is not unsual to see the same name seemingly outbidding themselves. Nor is it unusual to see new bidders.

I don't know if this has been mentioned yet, but one of the bidders "b*deering" must be a mega SO fan because they paid $61 for a 15 min. call from Jessica, $202.50 for a 15 min. call from Jodi and $72.99 for a 15 mins. call from Jill. I can't imagine what a person would have to say to those people. I wonder if they watch the clock and hang up on you after the 15 mins. is up or since you paid over $200 to talk to their dumb butt, would they be nice and talk to you for a little longer?

Another thing I wanted to mention is that this Amy Grant bidder didn't really "outbid" herself. On eBay, you're supposed to place your bid to reflect the highest price you are willing to pay for an item (to try to secure that someone won't come in and snipe you at the last second) but that doesn't mean the price will go that high. First, AmyGrant bid $50, then must have reconsidered and a few hours later went in and entered another bid of $60. If nobody else had bid on it after her $50 bid, she would have gotten it for the $50. Actually, she would have gotten it for $11.27 (because there is a $1.00 bid increment) and the bidder before her had a high bid of $10.27. Gosh, I hope that makes sense!

It's obvious they're shilling for each other. They are all in cahoots together on these E-bay scams. It doesn't take a genius brain to figure out why THEY are doing it but for the life of me I STILL can't figure out why legitimate buyers would get sucked into buying this garbage - can some people really be SOOOOOOOOO star-stuck as to spend hard-earned cash on crap peddled by a 15 minutes of fame reality 'star'??? It would seem the legit buyer needed the SO House a lot more than the ones peddling their junk.

Seriously girls, can someone tell us how you even find all these auctions? Is Jill's auction running now? I can't find it. I did finally find Jodi's necklace, but not by putting Starting Over in the search. How do you find them? What other auctions are there right now? Are they going to shut this message board down? If so do you all have another one planned to go to?

You all are just good!

Thanks!

If you can access Jodi's myspace page, there's a blog about her jewelry. If you click on it, it'll take you right to her her necklace on Ebay. The last bid; as of 5:22 pm, 5/31/06, was $102.50.

Doesn't every first time seller start with zero feedback, zero sales? EVERY SELLER. And a track record of feedback gets up there quickly if you keep selling. A smart buyer looks at it.

Not everyone gives feedback. Shipping and Handling costs more than just postage. Maybe Jodi is using a service more expensive than Uncle Sam. I know that she is including free delivery confirmation and insurance. I think she had a successful auction, and more power to her! She makes jewelry and I hope she will put some more items up there.

Anyone can bid on your item, unless you block them due to a previous bad experience.

eBay is a friendly place to do some business. I thought Jodi did a good ad, nice photos, and a very nice first auction. Of course she is not a PROFESSIONAL.

Jodi's first attempt at selling resulted in eBay removing her listing due to her mention of the bogus Cain FUNd and most likely because Christie pumped up the original bid.
Personally, I see that as a failure on Jodi's part to deceive her fans and a 'nice' auction to me is an honest one, not necessarily even 'professional' in terms of photographs or descriptions.

I find it strange that Jodi who has been touted as a successful businesswoman hasn't added another piece of jewelery since the one and only one she's sold went for an inflated $150. Not too swift, are ya Jodi? lol Tired of running interference for your partner in crime, Christie? Must be getting o l d . lol

She is new to eBay and didn't know what she was doing. Plus she seems to be a kind person at heart. She is naive and got sucked up by Christie the addict's con, but she did it with a kind heart.

She'll probably put up another piece one by one because she is smarter than Christie who put up ten of the same items. If she put up more than one at a time, the bidders would scatter and the selling price would not be as good.

There are other advertisers who put items in their ads that are not allowed. Like you can't put your website link onto your ad, or any link that takes people off of eBay. I've seen that over there and reported it. eBay people tend to police themselves.

With 1500 people who looked at her ad, some of them are bound to be first time bidders. Just because someone has a zero or low number behind their name, doesn't mean they are Christie.

Im sorry but sometimes my brain does not translate what im thinking when i try to type it out so here goes..one last time

RED FLAG WARNING: when an ebay seller..with "0" feedback
gets an ebay bidder with "0" feedback and that bidder
happens to JUMP BID the price by 40.00 bucks from 10 to 50
..MOST new bidders do not have the savey to JUMP BID an item that high..most new bidders with "0" feedback will bid in smaller amts.. 1.00 at a time until they get frustrated reading sorry you have been outbid by another bidder and quit..

that was a BIG RED FLAG to me..

(second...most sellers/bidders ..will NOT bid on an item
when we all know how much priority shipping cost..
and we see on the ad $8.95 shipping/handling on
a 4.05 priority 1 pound box fee.. i just cant see 4.90 in
handling fees..

IF YOUR GREEDY AND COLD BLOODED shure crank
up your handling fees but YOU will not last long..on ebay..
no matter how much a STAR you think you are..

yes we all have to start out with "0" feedbacks
but we all try our hardest for our customers and our sellers
we treat them with RESPECT..and we keep doing it at 500 feedbacks too..

my main comment here to the starting over houseguest with
ebay ad...

shipping and handling fees that exceed
boundries considered polite and treating your customers
with RESPECT...is a concept you will never never understand..
based on my opinion of how YOU acted on the SO show..

just my POV...

like i said.. buyers beware...
its a two way street on ebay

Thanks! I just did a little postal research on this Jodi shipping & handling issue.

Priority mail: $4.05
Delivery confirmation: $ .50
Insurance on $160: $3.35

Total: $7.90 She is asking $8.95, giving her $1.05 for additional S&H expenses like driving to post office, wrapping, etc, normal things.

UNLESS she also does a Return Receipt at $1.85 OR a Signature Confirmation at $1.90. If she does either of those her S&H cost before "normal things" goes up to $9.25 or $9.30, thus she LOSES "normal things costs" AND $ .30 or $ .35 cents cash out of her pocket.

As for the jump bidding, who knows? Ebay notifies you if you are being overbid, so you can rebid. First time bidders are as ignorant as first time sellers. A high first bid may have come from someone who knows jewelry and knows what a reasonable bid might be, but not knowing or wanting to bother with bidding and rebidding so they just hiked it up there immediately. If they buy to resell and know the value, it's a write off anyhow.

"treating your customers
with RESPECT...is a concept you will never never understand..
based on my opinion of how YOU acted on the SO show.."

Personally, I don't recall Jodi acting disrespectful on the show.

Just MHO.

Jodi has no boundries as evidenced by her actions on the show nor does she respect others. That topic has been done to death but, speaking for myself, I wouldn't trust Jodi within one arms length of my physical body and now after witnessing her eBay brief but revealing history, certainly no where near my wallet.

It was bad enough watching her grope at her housemates on my TV screen, even that was too close. Jodi is a scammer in every sense of the word--just a little slicker than her main squeeze, Christie, is all. Both grubby and greedy, perfect match.

But she may have considered needing those in figuring her S&H total. Only she knows.

So many people think shipping in general is "outrageous". They only look at postage. But they'll pay $6 to $12 on their CD's they order from BMG.

Most people don't realize the services the post office offers beyond stamps.

I love this piece too. I love the fact that she uses quality materials. I think she is trying to get a feel for the type of response she gets from a large and diversified group of viewers such as EBAY. I also appreciate that Jodi doesn't use flowery descriptions of her work, they are what they are. It seems Jodi had this as a hobby before S.O. and is selling what she's made and worn and loved before selling new stuff. Personally, I would like to see some new (as in never been worn) jewlery, but not thrown together pieces with run of the mill materials, shapes and color combinations. She should wait and only put up quality, so she needs to shop and make good design decisions.

I just looked at Jodi's 2 auctions on eBay. Frankly her Junk Jewels look alot like the chains inside the toilet tank I just had to replace in my house. Her Junk Jewels just have a few cheap pieces of glass on them. If she loves making them as much as she says why does she only have 2 listed? If she truly loved doing it then she'd have a variety of them for people to choose from. She simply thinks if she puts them out by piecemeal that people will think there may not be anymore and will buy whatever she puts up for auction just to say they have one. (not sure what the big deal is of having a piece of crap someone who was on tv made but that's another post)Her charging $8.95 for what costs her under $2.00 to ship is ridiculous. I am all for making a profit but she is a bit greedy and is taking advantage of the poor saps who buy into her crap and want a piece of "stardom" from her. When I was 8 years old I had a jewelry making kit that turned out nicer things than what she is making.

"18 inch freshwater silver button pearls, faceted smokey topaz with Czech glass cathedral beads. The clasp is sterling silver with a freshwater silver button and closes in the front...I love making necklaces with the clasp in the front...this is such a pretty one that it would have been lost behind my hair! Peace, Jodi"

Bidding is up to $27.01. The bidders are rachelgtx and sunnybloom, who bid on all the HG's items.

Do you guys remember those necklaces that Lisa1 made? HAHAHA! I'm comparing those beauties with the pieces that Jodi makes. I guess it's true - talent, you either have it or you don't. And Lisa didn't, lol.

I wouldn't pay $150 for one of these, but I still think Jodi shows some real skill in jewelry design.
