"Sommer is playing her cards very well"
Doesn’t it seem that Sommer thinks very cautiously about what she says and does? It seems that she knows exactly what she has to do to stay in the house. She is a very good manipulator I think. She loves attention have you seen her myspace and web page, she loves to show off how much friends she has. When they showed clips of her from last season it just reminded me just how much she wants to be on TV. What is the point of her goal anyway?

She likes to cook and supposedly she wanted to write a cookbook for other gastric bypss patients or something or other. Maybe further down the line she will use this forum to advertise her new book --if she's written one-- but only after jumping through all of Rhonda's and SO's hoops. I dunno. We'll see. Bet she has something to sell to the SO audience.
Her hairstyle is atrocious. It does nothing to flatter her features. It also makes her look like the first Bethany. Which is ok, I just get confused who I am looking at sometimes. Seems like she has picked up a little weight since her last year when she was pretty thin. Which is probably normal. She has more energy than Christie which is good cuz I was starting to think gastric bypass surgery makes a person sluggish.
I think Sommer has probably gotten alot of attention when she first lost all of her weight and now that attention is waning so she came back on the show to be seen again. The honeymoon period was over and she's looking for some way to get back into the spotlight.

I agree with you. She is playing for the cameras, the LC's and the other HG to stay in the house so she can get air time to ease her need for attention and to try to make herself feel better.

You know I read this a day ago and I was like "hmmm I don't know if I see that" and today with her throwing her head back laughing and bending over because she was so excited for Cassie, I totally see it too!
She always looks like she's "on". It doesn't seem real.

I don't want to sound naive but to look at it from another perspective - Sommer knew that she had to modify her behavior to come back into the house.
I don't really disagree with any of you and I also wonder about her motives for coming back (or ever being on the show to begin with).
But her behavior was expected to be modified when they asked her to come back. Granted, she could have said "Hey, this is me, take me or leave me". But maybe she can also look back at her real moments in the house, like when she got into a baithing suit, on camera, with a guy (which was a huge deal for her) and appreciate what she got from the house and be willing to subdue herself for the possible gains.
Lastly, when watching "reality" shows, I expect them to be there, in part, for the attention. It takes a certain type of personality. Many of us would never air any kind of dirty laundy on TV - or even tell certain people in our lives our personal business. If it weren't for attention seekers (think of many of the previous house guests) there would be no show. In return, I think the makers of these shows want that. If a person didn't have this type of personality, they wouldn't be as interesting or dramatic.

I completely agree with you Zoey I didn't look at it from that point of view.
But getting down to basics of it she seems like she is there for the cameras like she was before. I just think they could have brought back someone else that wasn't there for the TV aspect on it. Like I said in another thread bring back someone else and update us on them to see how there lives have changed because of SO. Don't bring back people like Sommer who don't deserve it and are still playing the game but better.
I was thinking there have been others there who really want help like Suzan who I love and Amy( she loves attention but she did want help and she took exercise real), Rachel, pretty much a lot of the first season people. Well besides Cassie from season 1.

Well, they did that with Josie, Bethany 2 and Cassie and I would definitely like to see how SO has changed some of the other HGs lives.
But I do like the aspect of bringing someone back to finish their steps from their first stay in the house. I'm not sure if Sommer would have been my first pick, for the reasons you stated, but I think they may have picked her because she (in my eyes) was ready to change (had some breakthroughs the first time) but didn't follow the rules (mingles with the crew), where someone like Tess was resistant to change or "surrender" at all.
For a change, I actually think SO did the right thing. I think there's hope for Sommer to improve if she follows the rules. Tess, on the other hand would have been good for drama but not much else (If she's not more prepared than her previous stay).

There's little doubt in my mind that Sommer is one of those HG's who wants to be a celebrity. Boy, it's getting soooooooo old, isn't it?
I wasn't completely convinced of that until I took a look at those websites she put up. That settled it for me.
I agree that she is definitely playing to the cameras. She might want to be aware of the angles she's shot from though. I saw the most offensive shot of her last week while she was sitting on a couch talking to Rhonda. She was wearing low cut pants and she leaned forward. Even from the side, the viewer got an eyeful. Let's just say she looked like a plumber at work, lol.
And her hair? Woe, it's harsh...

Her eye rolling during confessionals reminds me of Tess from season 2. IMO she likes to think she is playing her cards well but it seems most people can see right through her charade. She is as fake as a $3 bill with her own picture on it

She knows exactly what to do because it has been layed out to her by Rhonda...Rhonda has made it clear over and over how Sommer should be...one false move-one negstive word-and she is out of the house.

As for Sommer and her web site.....I see no difference in hers than the others from S.O. who have started one up or who have been chat guests on different chat programs or been interiviewed.
Sommer has kept it about her, well, isn't that why one sets up a web site and or MYspace?
Atleast Sommer, who was *branded* from day one did manage to continue to lose the weight after being kicked out....she moved and did manage to get a job, an apartment, etc..
What has Cassie accomplished? Someone else can fill in the blanks for this sel proclaimed *victim*
Towanda? Oh yeah, she accomplished being arrested soon after graduating and managed to ahve the time to be in Kim's chat room and blast IV from one end to the other.
Jennifer? Wow, she was quick to get engaged to a guy she met after her graduation. Per her site she was engaged round Christmas which meanz bout a month and half after she graduated.
Kim? Well Kim never changed. She did said twice on the show and since: Fake it til you make it. And also blasted IV in her own chat room she ahs attached to her web site. She reigns over that little room and if you disagree with something she boots you.

Rachel? Well, no idea what ehr goals were except to meet her Dad and sit around gossiping.
Those are the main ladies that were with Sommer on her first stay...All went on to graduate but what have they accomplished since?
I don't like nor dislike Sommer but feel she fif get a raw deal, was treated horribly from day one by having to wear a scarlett letter for a one night stand.....Yet despite how she was treated she did manage to live life and move on.

AshLanie I must respectfully disagree with some of your post about Sommer. I don't feel she got a raw deal nor was she being treated terribly from day 1 by having to wear a scarlett letter. The other HG also had to wear scareltt letters to look at their past behaviors (remember Jennifer had the big scarlett C for cheat?) They did it as a show of support leting Sommer know she is not the only one who made mistakes in life and they also had to take responsibility for them. Sommer was aksed if it helped to have other wear them too and she said yes. Ther other Hg also had to wear theirs for a period of time and actually met back in group to remove them from each others shirts. IMO Sommer was not given a raw deal from day 1 in any way. Much time and effort was poured into her and she was warned repeatedly about her antics and if she had adhered to the numerous warnings she would not have booted. I also don't believe that Sommer managed to live life and move on. Yes she did manage enough to still breathe oxygen and be alive but she has in fact returned to the SOH with the same isssues she had when she left over a year ago and she looks like crap other than having lost some weight. She looks sickly in many ways (which is a topic of another thread). Now she is back in the SOH to try to save face and to try to manipulate the system and practice some new faces for the camera to see how it looks on the air. Sommer is a game player and she walks right on the line between what she should and should not do. It seems she always has been and always will be that way. You can tell when she discovers the camera is on her because her facial expression changes and she gets more animated and more dramatic acting at times hoping that viewers look at her when they see the screen even if other HG are present in the same shot. She is having to work hard to not revert back to her old attnetion seeking ways. I hope she doesn't blow this her final chance so she can finally graduate and go home. I am also sure that much was said to Sommer than did not air and Rhonda made it very clear that this was it. NO more chances.

All these other ladies have had their upsets. BUT they did manage to do good out of SO. Sommer Used the process for her own intent and good..........
Some of these people actually showed their personality and did exercises. Towanda hit the couch with a bat and cried. Rachel cried all the time showing she was vulnerable. Cassie put herself out these and told all her dirty laundry. Sommer does nothing she’s afraid of what people will think of her she doesn’t get involved with her exercise like others do.
