Im thouroughly convinced, or at least really hope, that Matt knows. First of all, I think our boy Matt is alot smarter than we all think. His background on SpikeTV.com is suspiciously vauge. I think the mastermind behind Joe Shmoe thought bigger than to trick some poor "law school dropout, pizza delivery boy". I think the joke unravelling dosnt stop at one person, but continues on to seven naive actors, and then to all of America. Think about it, its perfect.I. The emotional strain of the show isnt soley put on Matt. Its taken a strain on all seven off them. The show could very well be about playing tug of war with the concious' of seven no name actors, rather than creating a false reality around one person. Dr Pat lilterally broke down crying after after Matt gave her his trip... which brings me to my next point.
II. All games on Joe Shmoe are rigged, and the winner of the trip, was also given the chance to leave the house by accepting 25,ooo thousand. Why would the producers rigg a game and give the main character a chance to leave, thus ending the show? It dosnt seem right.
III. Daily trips to the production van by the entire cast. No one is this stupid.
IV. Think about the risk and the pure logic behind it all. What would be harder? Training seven people to work around one person and hope that every one of his moves are exactly as calculated, OR giving seven people a script to work from, and using the one person who is a focal point of them to evoke unexpected TV worthy emotions from them?
V. Think of the risk be taken on Matt. Everyone who watches the show has fallen in love with him. He's made every right move and said every right thing since day one of the show. The ratings of the show rely on Americas support for Matt. Everyone has their dark side. How could the producers possibly find a guy like this, put faith and millions of dollars behind a show that would be completely dicked if "Joe" turned out to be an asshole. Joe Knows what he's doing and he's playing these actors.
VI. Matt, IF he is who they want us to think he is, could potentially sue the network for lots of money, had something gone wrong in this show. Think about it, singling one person out, puting them in a false reality surrounded by a facade of actors could have some potentially horrific effects on a single person. Now, take that same effect and place it on seven people to share, as well as with the rest of America, you make it now only more human, but funny.
Give me some imput eather supporting or debunking this.
