realitybites 1174 desperate attention whore postings DAW Level: "Politically Incorrect Guest" 10-16-02, 01:05 PM (EST) "BB&D: Random thoughts, episode 5" LAST EDITED ON 10-16-02 AT 11:37 PM (EST) * I like this episode's emphasis on the tasks, rather than the interpersonal bickering. * Team Contact had a great week, completing two tasks and making progress toward Alcatraz. Unfortunately, they're STILL two tasks and 400 miles behind Team Cobi. This is about the equivalent of being 17 points down late in the 3rd quarter. Though a comeback is possible, don't bet anything you can't afford to lose on it. * Josh understands the game far better than anyone else on either team. Team Cobi is lucky to have him. * Katie & Aubrey really don't like each other, do they? * About the only way Cobi can lose is if Juliet quits or is forced out. If that happens, they lose not only the tasks she did individually, but the ones she did as a team. That would, essentially, put Cobi back at zero, which they can't really afford. So the best strategy here is to pacify her until the end, then wring her neck. * Knoxville is still in the Eastern Time Zone, so Contact can't do anything there even if there was something there to do. Nashville is about 150 miles away and the next obvious target, though the previews hint that they go to Memphis. * ESPN could use some lessons in false dramatic editing from Jerry Bruckheimer & The Amazing Race crew. * P.S. "RE: BB&D: Random thoughts, episode 5" I would agree that Cobi made their train, as the map already has them on their way to KC. I don't know how they picked the teams, but for a scary thought, imagin is Aubrey was on Team Cobi, and Juliet on Contact. It might have been a shutout.
