-- Anthony Clark in.

Now if I'd ever watched anything Anthony Clark has ever done, I'd know if this was an improvement.

Oh is that the annoying guy on "Yes, Dear"? If so, I can't stand him.

Could you narrow that down a little?

To be fair, Anthony Clark was great on Boston Common. If that's the Anthony we get I'm fine with it. But yes, I hate the Anthony Clark (not to mention the whole show) in Yes, Dear.

yes anything would be an improvement over Jay Mohr, but Anthony Clark was blackout drunk during the judging debacle in Vegas during season 2.

Can someone fill me in on why Jay got the boot? I remember that the previous season didn't get broadcast on NBC but I never understood what the contention was? I thought the show concept was Jay's to begin with.

While Mohr was apparently a key part of the show's concept, he apparently wasn't the person initially responsible for the concept. The show was conceived by Brittany Levin, who was director of creative affairs for Peter Engel Productions when it was first announced (as "Funniest Person In America") back in Fall 2002.

NBC's original announcement (which said the show was "conceived by Brittany Levin") cited Mohr as "instrumental in creating 'Funniest Person In America'" and he (along with Engel and later, starting with Season 2, Project Runway's Dan Cutforth and Jane Lipsitz) executive produced the first three seasons. Apparently Mohr's name and involvement with an earlier pilot called "Comic House" apparently sold NBC on the project back at the time (remember, this was back in Fall 2002 -- American Idol had just aired that summer, The Apprentice didn't exist yet, Meet My Folks and Fear Factor were about the only reality shows NBC had, and Engel was a scripted TV guy best known for Saturday morning shows like "Saved By The Bell")

However reading between the lines, it sounds like after Mohr's outspoken criticism of NBC's handling of Season 3, either NBC, Mohr, or both weren't interested in having him return for the Season 4 revival.
