HappyDayz 278 desperate attention whore postings DAW Level: "Network TV Show Guest Star" 09-03-03, 06:06 AM (EST) "Finally ~ Hank gets appreciation for being a mature man!" For weeks he has seemed like the only man among a bunch of frat boys, and it was nice to finally hear that it hasn't gone unnoticed by Lisa, her friends, or her family. I'm glad to see Lisa is verbalizing her feelings a little more as things are moving closer to the end (did you catch when she told Hank that she could be in a room with him and not say a word, and it would still be the most exciting part of her day? I just love these two!). I also loved when Kim said that Lisa lights up whenever she talks about Hank and that everyone can see it....even her family loved him. Go Hank! I never was a real Hank fan from the beginning. To be honest I didn't really notice him until everyone started going on and on about him. Then I thought he seemed like a nice guy. But the more I notice him the more I wonder about him. Is this guy just a really smooth operator that can put on the right act for the cameras and Lisa? He has a smugness that bothers me. And yes it does bother me that none of the other guys seem to really like him. Yes, he is their competition. But why do they all seem to single him out as the one they are worried about? Usually if you meet someone that seems too perfect and others start to tell you there is a side of him you don't know. You should listen. There is usually some truth behind what others try to warn you about. Everyone says Evan is the player. The more he grandstanded, and flashed money, the less I liked him and I had gotten to the point where I could barely tolerate to look at him, truth be told. I think he was a bs artist. Also, I think when Hank said last week that there were a couple of guys in the house that he didn't really like, Joe was primarily who he was talking about. Hank seems to be more of a blunt, straightforward type, and Joe is a schmoozer ~ their personalities just didn't mesh well. Joe seemed like a happy go lucky kind of guy and for him to not like Hank, that bothers me. Joe really really doesnt seem like a laid back person at all to me. I'm not sure what the deal with Joe and Hank is but I could see why Joe wouldn't like Hank regardless of whether or not Hank is a nice guy. Joe is pretty competitive as is Hank. Joe really didn't seem as though he had tons to offer a woman so I could see where he might be jealous and feel inferior to Hank. It would be natural for Joe to have feelings of resentment when it comes to seeing Hank win the approval of Lisa and her friends. Evan has been knocked about more by the girls and might not have seemed as threatening as Hank was. In addition, Evan does have a more laid back nature so I could see why he and Joe would get along better. To me, Lisa looked a little flustered (in a good way), I think because of Hank mentioning them being married and having kids, and him saying to her he has no worries about their relationship. Then when Hank said she needed to keep working to hold up her financial end of the family and ended it by saying "My Friend" - it didn't sound like he was kidding to me. It sounded serious and controlling. Also when he was in the house with the guys, didn't it sound like he was bragging about what he'd said about taking her clothes off - saying no one else had ever said anything like that? Glad you are at least trying to give Hank a chance. I did notice that Kimberly reacted strangely, but Laura laughed when he said it (as did the audience). When I rewatched to see Lisa's reaction, I really didn't see her react badly...she laughed, and she sounded kind of gushy, like she often does with Hank...but she never lost her smile or looked surprised. Hank laughed, so I think it was intended somewhat as a joke, but I think what he was really trying to convey was that he didn't want her to give up her career (he knows how much it means to her)...it just didn't come out quite right in that rushed moment he had to speak. I think his saying that was possibly prompted by her father's reaction to her announcement that she didn't want to work once she had children (Daddy looked like he was seeing all that money for her education go up in smoke!). And as for the "if he's too good to be true he probably is" statment I think Hank has proved he's as human as the rest of us, faults and all. He would be too good to be true if he had no problems in the house (like Evan!) he likes Lisa, he finds it hard to get along with the guys who kiss HIS girlfriend. And I think he doesn't like Joe and Renda, quite frankly if I was forced to live with those two I'd throw a football at their HEADS!! Why fault Hank because he's human, he's not perfect and he's not trying to be. If he were trying to put on an act for the camera, would he talk bad about the others? Every other person has said something unkind about another person in the house, are they trying to put on a show for the camera? Robert who all but flexes and strikes a pose everytime the camera comes near him is not putting on an act for the camera??? I love Hank, He's just great. It's funny how everyone around Lisa, who know Lisa, thinks that Hank is right for her. He was great around her family, and she obviously has strong feelings for Hank. She was like "I have so much more to say..." but it seemed like she knew she wouldn't be able to say it. She obviously cannot be like "I love you Hank" because it is a TV show, THe producers need her to keep things interesting. I have never seen anything remotely controlling about Hank. He has been genuine the entire time, and like Laura said, "never kisses ass." And he was definitely just joking at then end when he said that she had to be the bread winner too, he was trying to express that he didn't want her to give up her dreams for him.
