Rachel Veltri gave up a million bucks with the hopes of being with Caleb Janus of Ahwatukee Foothills.
Alas, the match made by TV didn't last.
She will try to recoup some of the lost money on Thursday by doing a shoot for Playboy, according to Janus.
"I just got off the phone with her two minutes ago," Janus said Friday. He wouldn't say how much she'll be paid, but he did offer this:
"Not even close (to a million dollars). Less than one-tenth of that."
Will he buy an issue when it comes out?
"Absolutely," he said.
The Ahwatukee Foothills real estate agent made it to the final round of the NBC show For Love or Money, and he chose love over the cash. In choosing Rachel, he bypassed a check for an undisclosed amount. It ended up being $1.
She, however, chose love over the $1 million she knew she could have pocketed.
Veltri told People magazine recently that they broke up less then a month after the taping of the show ended.
A trip to Phoenix, Janus said, may have sealed the deal.
"She told me, 'The way you're acting towards me is the way I would act towards someone I don't like,'" Janus said. "I guess I was distant."
Though Janus won't see Veltri's Playboy shoot live, on Saturday he will take part in an event in Las Vegas sponsored by a Los Angeles-area radio station that will pit eligible bachelors with eligible bachelorettes.
In the midst of his celebrity, Janus has found it difficult to concentrate on work.
"I got flooded with 200 e-mail at work. I didn't get much accomplished."
