actually, i'm good friends with rob & his family. i've known them for over 24 years and he's actually a really great guy. his family is of the utmost respectability in their community & in the Houston area. he's never had any past problems in his family or the community whatsoever. but instead, he and his family have always given a great deal to the community. i consider him a great friend who has been unfortunately slandered. And he has a great heart most importantly. sincerely, kakes

i >consider him a great friend >who has been unfortunately slandered. ...as Rob or any attorney could tell you, "truth" is an absolute defense to slander. I therefore find in favor of the 99.9% of viewers of this show who find him to be a woman assaultin' sleaze ball....who by the way has the personality of a pile of puke, kind of like the one he left in the female barricks that fateful night.

It's kind of obvious America hates "nice". I believe he is a nice guy and even a friend. However, this show was not created to make him look good. He comes across as slightly dorky, has stage-fright and looks like he probably shouldn't have been so quick to sign up for this 'death-wish". People will pick him apart til the next sucker comes along. Poor Rob.

I agree. We all make mistakes. We have all, or rather most of us, been drunk at least once and did something stupid. When in a stressfull situation, like a TV camara in your face, you can over drink and be an idiot. As the the female barracks thing, you know, none of us were there. It is truely possible she was leading him on and then said no. In a drunken state, where inhibitions are lowered, he could have not listened or even registared the no. This is not defending him, just stating the obvious. He was not dishonorably discharged so that does show that there is room for interpretation here. But people are funny/weird, we like to see others suffer. I am sorry he is having to go through this, although he did ask for it by signing the dotted line. He will recover and maybe learn something about himself. Like, don't drink. "Do you know, I always thought unicorns were fabulous monsters, too? I never saw one alive before!" "Well, now that we have seen each other," said the unicorn, "if you'll believe in me, I'll believe in you." Lewis Carroll; Through the Looking Glass

kakes:I am a friend and supporter of both Rob and Paige. And I am sick at heart at the bad treatment they are both receiving at the hands of the media and others. Do you by any chance have an e-mail address? I have a big favor to ask of you which has nothing to do with the show per say. My e-mail is: vwin95@aol.com

LAST EDITED ON 07-03-03 AT 06:45 AM (EST)Quoting EdmeeJHills > >I am a friend and supporter >of both Rob and Paige. You so did not just ruin the ending of this wretched show that I have invested time out of my life in did you?!?! granted after all the fast forwarding I do it's only about 15 minutes but still. I could have been watching the equally dreadful "Paradise Hotel" and waiting for that hard core skank, Toni, to self destruct.
How and why anyone would be able to be freinds with both of them kinda tells the story, doesn't it. You totally suck, dude. Go bitchslap yourself. BTW - what a great supporter you are of your friends....here's one viewer who doesn't need to waste the tape Monday. WTG Einstein.

Madam, I am sure you are wonderful person with many qualities in your favor. I'm sorry you find me "uncouth and non-benevolent" Interestingly, for someone who states that I make no sense, atleast I chose to use actual words in my original post, I was unable to locate "non-benevolent" in my handy Webster's. Perhaps you meant to use the word "malevolent", "malignant" or possibly "spiteful". I find it selfish, offensive and vile that you, if in a position to know as you claim, would willingly and voluntarily chose to reveal the ending of the show prior to the airing. A true friend would not do that, nor would someone who is charitable toward others. I'm sure you wouldn't reveal to your grandchild(ren) the contents of their Christmas presents prior to their opening, or perhaps you would. Maybe you are the one who needs to look at the world beyond the tip of your nose.

13. "Rules" |
NoLife, there are clear rules to posting on this board. A condensed version of the key points is listed at the top of every page. Let me quote:"intolerance for other viewpoints is NOT welcome and respect for other posters IS required at all times" Now let me quote from your posts: You totally suck, dude. Go bitchslap yourself. WTG Einstein. I find it selfish, offensive and vile... These comments are blatant violations of the posting guidelines -- and result solely from your own inference that EdmeeJHills inadvertently gave away the ending of the show. Whether it's true or not (and if anyone has any REAL evidence about the ending of the show, we encourage them to post it, but please put it in a post clearly marked "Spoiler Alert," as per Item XI in the Complete Guidelines), you do not have the privilege of abusing another poster. If you have any intention of remaining a member here, I request that you apologize for your comments.

He actually does seem to be a good guy (I wasn't too sure at first), so much so, that I wonder why he would engage himself in such a demeaning show. Where did they find these women? Are they spoiled brats of some egotistical producer fat cat from NBC? All of these women seem so vicious to me, and Rob was set up by NBC to be completely humiliated by introducing the money into. Granted, it will reveal who's in it for love, but based on the odds and reality, chances are most if not all of those women would choose the money over him in an instant. They could probably care less about the personal ramifications after the show after accepting the money. They will be perceived in a whole new way when they go back home, and it will most certainly be very difficult for them to find a decent guy for quite a while. Doesn't it seem like NBC is setting themselves up for a law suit? I mean, that's not what Rob signed up for, and I wonder what was included in the contract to protect NBC from any backlash. Shows like these obliterate all that is sacred when it comes to marriage. All NBC really seems to want is to turn Rob's life into a sociology/psych course. He seems so smart, a psych major turned lawyer, and in learning about how sick these producers at NBC are, he handled it with a lot of grace. I feel sorry for him. Paige is too immature and the other one (Erin?) is a cold fish, she even admitted it, she says, "The last thing I wanted was to have feelings for this guy." Why did she sign up in the first place? "Just to have fun" she says, she's as bad as some of those men you hear about who just lead women on. I can understand the allure and assumed romantic intentions that must have been conveyed in order to seduce someone like Rob into a show like that, because it's hard to assume that much concentrated evil into one show, but live and learn I guess. I'd run a background check on the one he chooses, just to see what her lineage is. It's in his best interest to know. If they end up getting married and have children, he should know what he's up against before introducing innocent children into a mafia-type, Hollywood-based lifestyle. For instance when he asked Paige if he could believe what she says, and she says "about what" - does she need a specific question in order to answer in good faith that she has been truthful? The question relates to her romantic intentions in the past and not the money, so she should have been able to whole-heartedly say "Yes, I am sincere." regardless of what she assumed he was talking about. In his mind, I guess he was confusing the issue as well, wanting to ask her about the money, but with the way she reacted, she was really thinking about the money at that point, and that's why she had to hesitate. I do believe Paige has some good feelings for Rob, and he'll probably pick her, but it's more akin to infatuation. She's too young to appreciate or recognize the real thing. The way she looks at Rob is like she's at the playground looking at Rob. Erin looks at Rob like he's pitiful and that she feels sorry for him. They need to do a reality show on the reality of reality shows and the after life.
