LAST EDITED ON 08-30-05 AT 10:09 AM (EST)I had the impression that Fibonacci was a mob guy who'd been flipped into an informant & that he was the one responsible for the prison mob guy's incaration. Mob guy on the inside seems to want payback in the form of Fibonacci sleeping with some fishes. I think they think Fibonacci (who seems to be in witness protection) is going to rat out more of them, so they want him dead before that happens. Edited to add: I thorougly enjoyed this show--despite having to suspend some disbelief. Sometimes, that's what entertainment's for. Can't wait to see how it unfolds.

Having 'slept late' for 24 and Lost - I made the effort to watch this, given the critical reviews I have read. I am very glad that I did - haven't seen a drama program so intriguing in ages and will definitely tune in for future airings. Agree that one must suspend belief but that's part of the appeal! Plus - I think the 2 brothers are really amazing - was one of them Dracula in the last Blade movie?

There was definitely a lot to digest in this episode. The show has lots of layers. I think that the two brothers are the best part of the show. They actually look like they could be brothers (half brothers, I assume since their last names are, conveniently, different). They have a Vin Diesel/young Sylvester Stallone quality to them that'll keep me coming back for more. I thought I recognized Patricia Wettig, from "Thirtysomething" as the woman who's part of the conspiracy. EngProf, I think you're right about Fibonacci but how Michael was able to find him when the Mob couldn't will be one of the interesting things to watch for. This is definitely one of those shows where my husband and I will be sitting in front of the set- with him saying "Do you believe..." and with me saying "Don't analyze it so deeply... just enjoy."

I think I'd put up with any amount of strangers (even strangers in orange jumpsuits) to see those sexy eyes close up. Plus, since he's obviously smarter than me (an English degree from Princeton!) we'd have plenty to not talk about as I did my gazing. Okay, just trying to work this out of my system! I have to keep reminding myself that he didn't seem nearly so cute on Joan of Arcadia, so my crush must stem from some excellent tricks of lighting. Handcrafted by RollDdice

20. "RE: Prison Break - It looks like a "breakout " effort!" |
OK - I appreciate the Michael lvoe here, but let's discuss the actual show!!I'm very much liking how this is progressing and how characters are being fleshed out. I missed last week by stupidity (first time in Chicago there wasn't a repeat later in the week). Of course there are always inplausibilities with this type of show (like my fave 24), but you just have to let those things go and enjoy the tension. At least, unlike 24, there's no clock ticking so it's a little easier to suspend disbelief when Michael seemingly gets back to the Warden's office in 15 seconds from the roof. Without a ticking clock I can ratinalize that it actually took longer and that all of that fits with the story. The ending last night with the Warden actually stepping up and deciding to do the right thing is pretty amazing. It plays against type for a guy like this to actually have real feelings and a conscience, but that's probably closer to reality than most prison movies anyway. The complexity of the character is more appealing (and keeps the storyline moving!). I'm anxious to see the back story on the killing start to unfold soon beyond the continued attempts at cover up. I suppose, however, that we'll have to wait until the last show or two. Any sense from anyone how many episodes there will be to complete this story? I don't know if I can take 20 or more episodes. I suppose an added attraction to me for the show is it's Joliet/Chicago setting. It's always great to see parts of Chicago on the screen. Finally, are people actually drawn to shows based upon the physical attributes of the characters!?? 2002 IceCat Originals, Inc. All rights reserved.

Last night's show was such a doozy.I'm still practically on the edge of my seat. I know they won't let anything happen to the Doc, but last night still really pushed the envelope. To even imply a gang-rape situation is terrifying. I just couldn't believe how fast those prisoners went from "harmless" to animals. I guess that's the point, though. As much as the show humanizes Michael, Lincoln, and Sucre, the realities of jail are very real, even if they're only peripheral realities on this show. I think the show has done a marvelous job at making us (at least the women!) care about Michael (and to a lesser extent, Lincoln), which really amps up the drama and suspense. Kudos to the show for its humor and fast-pacing, realistic or no.

Well, not me even at my most pessimistic before the year started.I was going to begin a new thresd on Prison Break since this is starting to get long, but then realized with it off the air for three weeks it'd probably get lost anyway. It's irritating right now that it'll not come back until the end of October (31st - is that correct - I can't remember right now?). Seems to me that they probably only ordered six episodes originally and that next week could have been the wrap up if it didn't go anywhere. Now, next week is a repeat of the week before last, the following week is the movie Rush Hour 2. I don't know the week after. At first I thought it was baseball playoffs, but that takes Mondays off - maybe they wanted to keep Mondays open in case there was a rainout and they needed to use it - that's probably more likely. 2002 IceCat Originals, Inc. 52. "Argh!" |
TV Guide Online is reporting that there might be a long break for Prison Break. http://www.tvguide.com/News/Entertainment/ SENTENCED TO SUMMER: Fox has finally announced when Prison Break will return to the schedule following its fall finale on Nov. 28 — and it blows. The network has reportedly decided to hold the show's nine remaining episodes until (gulp) May! Fox scheduling chief Preston Beckman tells USA Today that "the appeal of creatively bringing it back later in the year outweighs the disruption it would cause" to try to bring it back sooner. I wonder what kind of disruption a few million phone calls of protest would cause over at Fox's Culver City headquarters? You with me, guys? Oh, this just in: A Fox rep insists "no decision has been made" about PB's return date. Do we have power or what?!?!? Way to kill a good show, Fox. Dumbasses.

59. "Prison Break Role Frees up Actor" |
LAST EDITED ON 11-05-05 AT 01:35 AM (EST) By Terry Morrow Source: The Commercial Appeal Memphis, TN November 4th
Actor Muse Watson is finally acting behind bars after years of killing people on screen. The actor, serial killer Ben Willis in the "I Know What You Did Last Summer" slasher flicks, is now the kindly but dark inmate Charles Westmoreland on the big house drama "Prison Break" "When I first got to Hollywood, there was no way I could play a bad guy," he says. "No one would let me." Then he got "I Know What You Did Last Summer," and Watson found he was typecast the other way. "They are so much fun to make," he says of horror films, "and the fan base of those kinds of movies are so loyal." Playing against type in "Prison Break" is allowing the 57-year- old Watson, who is eyeing a possible sitcom opportunity for next season, to stretch his wings again. He considers his "breakout" role to have been a kindly horse trainer in Julia Roberts's movie, "Something to Talk About." A slew of nice-guy roles followed before getting caught up in horror films. His stint in "Prison Break," he says, could even things out. Watson plays a convict who has become the wise confident for inmate Michael Scofield (Wentworth Miller), in prison to save the life of his brother. Watson won't say if Westmoreland gets to be part of the prison break or if he'll be part of the show's second season. For now, he's just enjoying the work. "As soon as I got on set and started working with Wentworth, we developed a bond," Watson says. "I think Westmoreland looks at Michael much in the way a father looks at a son." It's been a while since Watson has known his softer side in roles. He perfected his scary act as a 7-year-old growing up in Louisiana. "I used to be a skinny little clarinet player and just about anybody could whip my butt," he says. When a young Muse came home one day and told his brother that he was facing bullies at school, brother had some sage advice. "He said, 'you go back to school and you get a look on your face like you're totally crazy because nobody wants to fight a crazy man,'" Watson recalls. "I went to school the next day and looked at those boys, and they backed off. I've made a career out of that look." That kind of "crazy look" has served Watson well in his career. Though he has dozens of film roles to his credits, he is best known in the horror genre. His other films include "From Dust Till Dawn 2" and "Hollywood Vampyr." An upcoming movie for him is "Blood Red," in which he plays a psychopath who grabs his victims in taxicabs. Watson describes the deserted Illinois prison where the series is shot as "beautiful" but also notes its bleakness. "You get a sense, after spending some time there, that a lot of the evil inside the walls was evil that happened there in the prison," he says. "It really is an evil place." Handcrafted by RollDdice

Ok, I love this show, and I'm disappointed that FOX is pulling it until May, BUT, I just don't see how they can keep up the pace. I'm suprised to read that they have 9 episodes already done. I'm willing to bet that that final episode has the gang actually breaking out of prison.Personally, I think that once they do break out, the show will tank. They set up only 14 days (or close to that) of actual time, in prison, before brother convict gets the DP. The prison is like another character of the show, and an important character. Once they break out, it's d.o.n.e. They're milking it now, for all they can get, since they know that once the time runs out, the show is over. They'll take the next several months to try and salvage the story post break-out.

'Prison Break' Employee Found Dead In Drake Hotel Room Police: White Pills, Powder Found Near BodyPOSTED: 3:51 pm CST November 15, 2005 UPDATED: 4:49 pm CST November 15, 2005 CHICAGO -- Officials say it could take weeks to determine the cause of death of a "Prison Break" TV series employee whose body was found Monday at Chicago's landmark Drake Hotel. Most Popular On NBC5.com Police officials say Matthew Houbrick, 42, of Calabasas, Calif., was found on the floor of his hotel room with no pulse. He was pronounced dead last night by Cook County's Medical Examiner. Police spokesman Pat Camden said officers found him unresponsive and observed white powder and some white pills on a table in the hotel room. The man died possibly from a drug overdose, according to police News Affairs Officer Amina Greer, but she said she had no details. Medical examiner's officials say toxicology reports that could determine what killed Houbrick won't be back for several weeks. A Fox network spokesman says Houbrick worked as an accountant on the Fox TV series "Prison Break." Houbrick's ex-wife, Nancy Houbrick, said in a telephone interview that her husband had worked as a television producer. According to the Internet Movie Database, Matthew Houbrick had worked as production accountant for the WB's "7th Heaven" in 1996 and as a production supervisor on "Charmed" in 1998. Still loving the show and always anxious to watch it. And, I agree with True that I don't see how it'll be substained after the break out. It would just seem like another Fugitive series after that - the prison really is a MAJOR character here.Monday night - one glaring continuity issue (like there aren't thousands with both PB and 24), but this one irriated me because it was so obvious. In the woods the kid pushes bad guy onto the cover of the well and we see it shatter as he falls through. Later, when White House guys working for VP show up and decide to leave him there they move the cover, miraculously now intact, back over the well and leave bad guy there. I enjoyed the moment, but it was ruined by that continuity issue. I thought they had people who watched for these kinds of things to make sure there weren't huge errors like that. And, considering how remote this place was, why even cover the top? 2002 IceCat Originals, Inc. All rights reserved.

I very much enjoyed seeing Wentworth again, looking very fine, I might add. This did serve the purpose of extending the show, by giving us quite a few more story lines. Not to mention when they do eventually break out of prison, how all these stories are resolved. It was a nice break from all the Prison only scenes. They still have quite a few to develop. Abruzzi, and LJ. Plus there is more with the VP & her brother. Sigs by Cyg

The preview that I saw said "The breakout begins", so I knew they didn't break out tonight. But grrrrr, I have to wait two more episodes? I still feel that it was out of character for Michael to tell rat boy what was going on. I just can't believe that he would risk all of this by telling him. I'm guessing that he will be the pawn somehow. Another great episode. I had trouble relaxing because I was on the edge of my seat the whole time. One nation under George, divided.

I am perplexed with the whole rat boy incident. I thought he would be some key figure this week and we would figure out what the set up was - I guess we'll just have to wait and see....sigh.

I just can't believe that he would risk all of this by telling him.I was so mad at Michael last night. I kept screaming at the tv "What are you doing?! Don't tell him the new plan! Are you stupid?" I'm sure he has some plan for the kid, but he sure is making me nervous! I had trouble relaxing because I was on the edge of my seat the whole time. Me too. I was so tense. I love this show! I love this show too! I guess next season they'll be running from the law, AND racing each other to be first to the cash.

Sated? I don't think so. Incorrect use of past tense here? My bad if that is the case. No surprise though - I just realized, over 18 hours after the fact, that the VP engineered the president's death. Up until now, I thought that they were both targeted and she got lucky dropping her water bottle. After remembering the smug way she told the agent that she could, in fact, get things done - it just clicked into place.
