* No wild-card picks.* Semifinals are at 20 and the vote goes to 10: five males (including the winner), five females. There will be four performance shows before that of ten contestants each, with the judges cutting five every time: these are part of the Las Vegas round. Actual viewer voting at the single-elimination level doesn't start until March 13th. * Therefore, make the single-elimination rounds, (theoretically) make the tour. * Bus-based recruiting visits to small towns where the contestants can't necessarily afford a trip to the central rodeo. Contestants can also be nominated by family and friends if they're too shy to show up. Not necessarily the best idea, that last... * Nigel said there was too much focus by the other shows on their judges. Then he admitted he'd spent the last two months talking about his own judges. So he hasn't changed.
