I don't think I've seen this on this board yet--I stumbled onto this pre-AI work, even though it says it was released in 2010:

Another thought--3 out of the last 4 winners of AI had albums out before AI--maybe not well distributed albums, but they had enough confidence in their music to have put it out: Taylor, David C, and Kris. Carrie was the opening act for some group before she won AI.
