I'll be a little late joining in on the action tonight but wanted to be sure that a thread is up for discussion of tonight's finale. Have at it, folks!

If the twinnies keep their clueless lack of tact up for the whole two hours, they're going to find themselves on a tribe with Abi-Maria.

Not exactly the same thing, but Josh and Brent won the day after a Dallas Cowboys player by the name of Josh Brent was arrested for intoxicated manslaughter in killing a teammate after crashing while drunk.

This final challenge is too hard. I don't have a problem with hard, but it seems to me it will end up being a crap shoot as to who gets lucky and gets a few matches. And that will decide the $1M.

And, of course, all the teams who ever finished first in a leg were less interested in hearing what else was said on the matt, they had visions of trips and cars and sugar plums in their heads.

Would have liked to see the Chippendales win. So much emphasis on them wanting to win to take care of their parents, I thought it would happen.

I was kind of fond of them by the end myself -- part of why I'd like to see them on any future Second Chances season. Not your standard issue alpha team: drive from heart, not ego -- and there was a lot of heart.

Yeah, if I'm going to learn a few words of a language, "please" and "thank you" are much higher on my list than "goodbye." I get that they didn't want to just do a recap of the tasks, because teams know that that's what they have to pay attention to and most do a good job of memorizing it. But that did seem a little too trial and error for a final task.

Me, too. I wouldn't have had a huge problem with that task. I would like to see more tasks that reward the teams that have some sensitivity to the local cultures.

That's true, it did help if you knew the local cultures. And I knew a few more than they did (I can say Hello in Chinese and Goodbye in Russian). It also rewarded those who could think logically, and not those who panicked. I guess it was okay after all.

I liked Jaymes and James a lot too, and thought they were being set up to win over the last few eps. But with the repeated emphasis tonight on how the Beekmans had never won a leg I thought they might end up taking it.

The Beekmans winning was quite the surprise come-from-behind win and I'm happy for them. I usually would be thrilled the underdogs took it all, but dang it, I wanted the Chippies to win! They're just so nice, likable, funny, and kind. Especially Jaymes. Or James. I don't know, the blond one, lol. You could tell he really wanted to help his dad. He looked so sad, I felt so bad for him. Thank god it wasn't the Twinnies, tho. Team Texas was getting on my nerves at the end, too. Shouldn't steal people's money, what with karma being a beyotch and all.

That's exactly how I felt about the Beekmans, too. They were really nice to other people, but not so much to each other. When the Chips were down (haha), they were supportive and encouraging to each other, well at least blond Jaymes/James. I thought for sure Team Texas was going to whip through that last challenge and was pleasantly surprised when she melted down. They were super annoying last night, with all their "babe" this and "babe" that. I seriously almost stopped watching one season because there were so many couple teams that couldn't stop yelling babe at each other. Definitely my biggest pet peeve about TAR by far. When I first saw Team Chip, I was completely ready to loathe them. I can't believe they ended up my favorite team, maybe one of my favorite teams, ever.

Totally agree on the Chips. I rolled my eyes when I saw they had been cast. I missed a few episodes early on and when I started watching again, they quickly became one of my favorite teams too (although Danny and Oswald will always be #1!)
