This is neat. I don't watch it, but didn't ABC do the same sorta thing for Alias. I remember an attempted link to the Mole and the phony search engine that lead you to nothing but dead ends, unless, of course, you clicked on the link that looked like this: <o> It led you to some site about a painter who likes to put "codes" into his artwork. It was all created for that Alias show, but dunno what that might mean.

Does anyone know what that was all about?

4. "Push newspaper vidcap"
Below's a vidcap from the ABC promo -- if you look carefully you can make out some of ther headlines, if I get a chance I'll see if I can get a vidcap with less overlay.

Right now I'm not clear if PushTimes.com is supposed to represent The Push newspaper in the show (much like http://www.smallvilletorch.com is intended to represent the school newspaper for The WB's "Smallville" show.)

LAST EDITED ON 08-27-02 AT 10:08 PM (EST)

I tried to get tip #1, but there was "no file found" After tinkering with the tuner, I could hear two different messages.

Message 1. "This is George from accounting. We need to get security down here immediately. There is 1.2 million missing from the vault."
Set tuner (from left to right) +3, -1, +2, +3, 0.

Message 2. (Music- like a commercial on the radio or TV) I couldn't really hear the rest. Too scratchy for me. The message sounds like it's in the background. edited because someone else says that it sounds like a train conducter stating something about San Juan Capistrano.
Set tuner (from left to right) +3, -1, +1, -1, +3.

Hope this gets everybody started in the right direction.

i think the no file found was the clue. after rereading it carfully, it certianly didn't sound like the normal file not found that i get. if you click on the link that's there, it takes you to a whole new site, that i think involves push. on that site there are 2 more websites-http://www.versailles-casino.com/ and www.pushchamber.com see what's there-there are soooo many things to explore!

Koko was on the porch, trying to catch mosquitos on the screen, the problem being that they were all on the outside. "And you're supposed to be a smart cat," Qwilleran said.

11. "Do On-Line Peeps Have Advantage?"
One thing puzzles me about all these "spoiler" clues floating around...how can the producers of the show provide preview hints to an on-line audience when, in fact, there will no doubt be a "less technically-sophisticated" viewing audience to consider. Is it really fair to give on-line peeps advance clues?

I think ABC learned from Alias that this web subculture thing is really good advertising and maintains viewer interest between episodes. The whole Milo Rambaldi cult world (and there were multiple specially created websites) that was created became much more effective than they expected. Kids surfing the net who weren't originally watching Alias got hooked.

What they didn't do was give out important information that couldn't be found in the show. It was just more accessible - the same as you couldn't have easily found some of the hidden Mole clues without taping the show. I just hope they aren't going to rely on some clues only being available on these PN sites. I think that would be unfair and make the show less interesting.

Wasn't really a game - just a bunch of fake info which contained some helpful "hidden" stuff. Try:

http://www.followersoframbaldi.com
http://www.find-whatever.com

The second site is a fake search engine (only the <0> symbol now works and leads to the first site)

Also if you look at Katie's execution interview from Mole 2 on the ABC site, the opening says she "spent some time chatting with the users of .... Find-Whatever.com". There was some play on these boards on the fact that Rambaldi is an anagram for Admiral B, and that the mention on the ABC Mole site was another "hidden" clue. Can you spell incest??

There were also other fake sites which I now forget (I think SD6 had one). Edit: The following site details some/all of the links that were established for Alias (I just retrieved the URL from my secret vault!). You can see how intricate it was:

http://sd-6.com/mystery/

But it was a lot like what is being set up for PN, although PN's sites look a lot more complicated already, which I guess you might expect if $1 million is involved!!

Push, Nevada supposedly will advertise Alias on their site.

And the gas pumps at the only gas station had "Who Wants To Be A Millionaire" on the screens. *I'm assuming since the show's been cancelled, that might change*

A couple of weeks ago I got a private message from a newbie on the board that told me to go to the source for solving puzzles.

this was the address given http://www.normandiecasino.com

So, now if you go there under Promos you will find that Push, Nevada was filmed there.

Subject: RE: Personal

Have you seen West Side Story? Seymour’s just got it on DVD. Meet me there Friday at 7, grab dinner at Shaw’s, and then go back to my place to watch. I make popcorn the old fashioned way.

Both Seymour's and shaws can be found in the business listings if that means anything.
