PLEASE NOTE: The Reality TV World Message Boards are filled with desperate attention-seekers pretending to be one big happy PG/PG13-rated family. Don't be fooled. Trying to get everyone to agree with you is like herding cats, but intolerance for other viewpoints is NOT welcome and respect for other posters IS required at all times. Jump in and play, and you'll soon find out how easy it is to fit in, but save your drama for your mama. All members are encouraged to read the complete guidelines. "Caveat"
Given the nature of the show and the fact that a large part of it is relying on the net AND that the networks (in this case ABC) are very aware of boards like this, it's quite likely that someone from the show will post real or more likely misleading clues - do you think they really want to give out $1045000?
Beware!

Of course they want to give out the million -- read the rules, they are planning a big promotional special for the winner and going to milk it for all it's worth (yes, you too can be a media whore!)

With a production cost in the tens of millions and millions more spent on marketing, advertising, and online stuff, do you really think they are worried about a measily $1 mil??

Yes I do. Can't you see the "nobody could solve this and we'll double it next time" promotion?

Aside from that, don't miss my point - there's going to be a lot of disinformation out there, and some of it could be right here on this site.

yeah. misleading clues do seem to be an issue. All I just do it write everything down and leave it there, make a few questions and guesses until something true shows up.

For the first episode, I think they're going to be very straightforward. After all, their goal is to entice you to keep playing...and keep watching. If the clue(s) in the first episode are too hard, or too misleading, then people might not stay interested.

What they want is for people to think, "Hey, I do have a shot to win this game. I don't have to spend hours analyzing my videotape or surfing the 'Net to have a chance." Because that's the attitude that will have people tune in to Episode 2 and beyond.

I think the early clues will be rather straightforward so that people keep watching, and that it will get harder after awhile. Once they're 5-6 episodes into this, they can figure that they've got people hooked enough to try harder.

Evil, rude, snotty, and proud of it!

I think the "Amount" has more clues to offer than just the actual prize money and that its mystery is as deep as any of the episodes we'll be seeing. Concidering that I've watched my tape 3 times and jotted down notes, I've found plenty of clues that has turned my persepective of that beginning episode upside down.

6. "RE: Caveat"
i was reading through the rules again and it says something about being able to solve it just by watching the show and not using internet access, do you think that if that's the case, the clues might be more obvious than we think and all the internet stuff is a way to get us to overanalyze everything and confuse ourselves with too much information? it's just a thought but there are things on here that i never would have thought of before i read them here and some things that haven't been mentioned yet, so i'm not sure what to make of all of it. all i do know is i can't really think about much else (i guess it's my obsessive-compulsive nature kicking in).
