"Recovering lost files "
Okay, I did something really stupid but I had a little help from Sandisk when I did it.

My Sandisk micro Cruzer has some software called Launchpad on it. I brought my memory stick to a client and the Launchpad software wouldn't work. I couldn't see my files because it needs to run Launchpad to access the files.

There was an option to remove the Launchpad software and it said it would restore the data from the drive after the drive was reformatted. So I removed Launchpad and all my files were gone. It reformatted the stick when it removed the software. When I went to Sandisk's website, it said to backup the files before removing the Launchpad software. Arrgh! That was never mentioned in the removal process. And I couldn't have backed them up if I wanted to because I couldn't see the files.

Can anyone recommend any data recovery software that will recover these files. I found one that looks good but I don't know which version to download. I e-mailed them and their site promises a reply within 2 hours but I haven't heard back from them yet and I'm going a little crazy. The software will cost me $69 or $79 (depending on which version I need).

Can anyone recommend anything? Does anyone have a shoulder I can cry on? Wahhhh!

I got sliced!
