<We see a tiny Powerpuff Girl wearing a powder blue sundress with a black belt, white tights, and black maryjane shoes. She’s facing the corner, in a sitting position on the Cornertime stool, but has gone into flying mode, and is actually hovering a few inches above the seat. There is a powder blue tote bag on the floor next to the stool. The camera pans over to Kismet who is standing nearby.>
Good Morning Peeps. Today we have ItzLisa in the corner. She tops the list of posters in the lovable and energetic categories. ItzLisa has definitely made SB a place we all want to be a part of. Let's get to know her a little better shall we?
<Kismet approaches Itz and they shake hands. Itz' timer reads 15:00>
Thank you for the interview Lisa. I must say that I am surprised to find you here. Why are you in the corner and who sent you?
Well, I’m not entirely sure who sent me here or why - but I have a feeling it was Monkeyboy. You know, I shoved him off of the topmost branch of the banana tree a few weeks ago for some disparaging remarks he made about Macintosh computers! It was either him or Leif, to whom I mistakenly opened a rather large can of Whoopass on!
Well at least you aren't stuck in here for long. How did you happen upon this den of iniquity?
My story is the same as many others. I found Survivor Sucks <cues up audio of booing and hissing as well as standard "evil villain" music>, and was reading their summaries all during S1. Late in the summer, right around the time Jenna got booted, I did a search for more Survivor sites, and found Sblows <cues up audio of crowds cheering and triumphant "Wide World Of Sports" Olympic style music>. I loved both SS’s summaries, as well as Island Heat’s summaries here. Just before S2 started, I misguidedly <cues sad violin, "orphan-lead-astray" music> signed up at SS first. <Embarrassed chuckling> You can just imagine how well Little Miss Perky went over in that environment! I think I got through about 14 posts before I took my dress to the dry-cleaner to remove the rather large boot-print from the butt and found my account deleted! It was, of course, for the better! How could winding up here NOT be for the better? I came over here, checked out the message boards (back when we were temporarily on EZ Boards) and registered. By that time, S2 had just begun and I posted on February 13th of this year in response to Aya’s recap of episode 3. I guess it was Ebuggy’s day off, because Aya was my first official greeter to the board! <blows a kiss to Khomeini!> Everyone was so nice and made me feel at home right away, I figured getting kicked out of SS was the best thing to happen to me in a long time, cyber-speaking! My most ironic, "words a-comin’ back to haunt me" thing that I said in my first post? "I hope to be posting here now and then!" If only they KNEW!!!!
So noone had any idea you would become the board sweetheart? Alright missy, don't make get tough with you it will drive ratings way down.. Who are your favorite posters and why?
<Looks at the crazed look on Kismet’s face and decides to just answer the question in fear of her life>
Well, Kis, in no particular order - Webby, for giving us an awesome place to come to! Aya, for keeping our streets safe! That Vamp La La O’Mine!!! She is truly the heart and soul of these boards! Of course, Superman, who is brainy, hilarious, and kind, all at the same time - no wonder our Vampy loves him so much! My girls, Dangerkitty and GT, tough and mouthy, but funny as anything and smart as hell, the two of them. Speaking of smart, there’s Outfrontgirl, who I love because her I think her hobbies are building brains while my hobbies are small shiny objects! I love the way she thinks, I don’t mind looking like I have an IQ of negative 7 when I’m next to her! IceCat and Boomerang, our awesome Graphic Gods. Ebug, who I don’t know what we’d do without - glad you’re still here, sistah! Monkeyboy, who we also didn’t see for a long time - I was never so glad to see anyone return to the boards as this guy! Shakes and JV, my two favorite "troublemakers". They send kill trolls dead! I love the way JV shows up FAST and shows them the door with so much intelligence!
And Shakes - weeeeell, he’s gonna kill me for doing this, but Shakes isn’t the asshole many people think he is. Shakes emailed a very worried reply to me during the "Superman is dead" hoax, and he also very sweetly emailed me an article about the Powerpuff Girls he knew I’d like! So, there ya have it - an inside scoop of someone who’s seen the "Love’s Baby Soft" side of Shakes!
You heard it here first people. Who else Itz?
Tinkerbell, my "Little Sister In Training", Lisapooh, my Bookend!!! Mistofleas, who has never been anything but a total sweetie to me! Leify, who I hope will still love me in the morning, har har! Pendragon, with his awesome "Glamour Shots" sig pics. Surv, who will NEVER beat me out for sweetest on the board, although he comes pretty freakin’ close! Dalton, oh my Dalton…<sigh!> she could verbally rip out your lungs through your nose and hand them to you, but what I wouldn’t give to have her back on the boards right now - her and our other MIA, Volmel. Ladies, we love you and hope you can both return soon! Rio, who dances on the sand - hey, bet she never heard THAT one before, nyuk nyuk nyuk!!! My own personal cheering section, dabo, who loves me even when I screw up! Idiotcowboy, Sleeeve, Roni, Koko, Aymelek, Samiam, SherpaDave, Pepe, Moonbaby, Darbygrl, MonCherie, Flying Squirrel, Survivorchick, Jizzy, LadyT, GG, Peter Torque, MakeItStop…Man, we’re lucky! We have truly got an incredible bunch of intelligent, funny, big hearted people here…..Oh, and you too, Kismet!!!
Thanks Itz..You are the final Lisa to be interviewed in this series that I know about. Do you want to tell us anything more about the secret society?
Well, now - we could tell you, but of course then we’d have to kill you, muuuuaaahaaaa!!!! We actually have a secret fourth Lisa that not many know about - she’s our double-agent, Sami - she’s so secret, I only think I know by hearsay that she’s a Lisa! Pooh is my Bookend because we were the first two Lisa’s to stumble across each other on the boards, over at spoilers, when she brilliantly came up with Conspiracy Jim’s "Boobie Theory"! Rio is our other Lisa, and her hubby Merrick and I share the same birthday, November 16th. Rio is also a Scorpio, so she and I have a weird, astrological, "separated at birth with both her and her hubby, genetically spliced and mutated with each other" kind of thing going on! And of course, Pooh mentioned in her Cornertime interview about our "Sweeney Sisters" act that we started in the Bar - come on down and see us, you guys! Our G-strings are plenty big to hold LOTS of dollar bills!
Ya know the more I hear about the Lisa Society, the more frightened I get. How do you differ from your BV Persona? Do you like the way you have been portrayed?
Well, I’m not that sickeningly sweet ALL the time! I’ve been portrayed as pretty cheerful, which I am. I’ve also been portrayed by Shakes as "a bi-polar wack job", which is not entirely true! Lemme just say this - wack job, no. I’m very overly emotional and get weepy over Supe’s poetry, but I hardly think that classifies me as a wack job! And as for bi-polar, no,
uh-uh, no way! I’m strictly into men!!!
<Itz sits and wonders how far back the crowd saw THAT one coming??? Kismet finally loses it and laughs out loud. She wipes the tears from her eyes and asks the next question.>
Good Heavens woman! How do you stay so upbeat all the time?
Lots and lots of plain, frozen salt margaritas with a twist of lime from the bar, Kis!!! No, seriously… well, at the risk of sounding like a brown-noser, this is a great place to come to! How could I not stay upbeat knowing I’ll always see a friend everytime I log on? Of course, when trouble starts, the upbeat crap goes RIGHT out the window!!! I know I’m Bubbles, but if trolls mess with my friends here, I can turn in to Buttercup in a heartbeat and whoop some booty! You want proof? Take a look!
<Lisa reaches into totebag on the floor and shows Kis a tiny peek of the mint green sundress hiding in there.>
What’s the point of being a superhero if I don’t fight evil???
I am glad there is very little evil around for you to fight.
<Kismet winks at the camera.>Tell me about the Powerpuff girl thing.. Have you always been a fan of the show?
I’ve been a huge fan for a little over a year. Basically, I saw all the merchandise first and wondered what the show was like. Tuned in and watched it once and was hooked instantly! As for my sig pic, dabo recently dug up my old picture I used to use - the Mona Lisa one. There’s a little story I never told of how I almost was never Bubbles because of that picture! Back when I first started posting, everyone was coming up with fun sig pics. I wanted one too, but didn’t know what to use - I figured because of my name, I’d go with a Mona Lisa picture. Superman found one for me, and I began using it right away. After a little while, I wanted to go with something more fun, and I was thinking about changing over to the Powerpuff Girls. But then came the "Supermanssister" hoax. For two days or so, the whole board was in turmoil - we prayed it was a cruel joke, but we just didn’t know. Supe was offline, so he wasn’t answering emails or postings, and we were in a panic till we heard from him. Okay, now this is gonna sound totally corny - laugh and I’ll give you SUCH a slap!
Here goes…even though I wanted to change my sig pic, I decided that, God Forbid, if it were true and Supe was dead, that there was no way I was ever gonna change my sig pic from Mona Lisa to ANYTHING else, because Supe had found it for me! That would be my tribute to him if the worst case scenario had happened. I only felt comfortable changing it a little later to the Powerpuff Girls after he posted that he was okay, and the whole situation calmed down.
I am very glad that we have Bubbles around to save us from Supermansisters. Okay, how do you get away with posting so much at work? You've been here forever and you haven't gotten fired. How do you do it? Share your secrets with the other worker bee's.
Well, it’s very easy - my boss is truly not a paper-intensive type of boss. She’s managerial, so she largely gets stuck in meetings all day, which gives me plenty of computer time! Although, you know, this past week they gave me a second boss who is VERY busy! My days of posting non-stop at work are slooooowing waaaay down - not grinding to a total halt, mind you, but expect to see more evening postings from me!
I hope that means that we will see more of you in the bar as well, Itzy. Speaking of the bar, you are a single person surrounded by hotties. Would you ever date someone you met online?
Hmmmm….well, since I have a wonderful boyfriend, the answer would be no. But if I were single, and an online guy didn’t feel threatened by my awesome superpowers or that I could fly, who knows?
Tell us more about the real you?
I’m 37, single, no kids. I have the most wonderful boyfriend in the world, who unfortunately lives in Toronto. Unfortunate only in that I’m here in NY - my wish is to eventually head up to the Great White North and be with all those sweet Canadian folks and away from these rude nasty New Yorkers - with the exception of my sweeties Moonbaby and GG of course! Sorry, but I’ve lived here for 12 years, and as of year 11, it began to finally wear me down!
Wow, Itz is getting worn out, that can't be good. I'm sorry please continue.
Boyfriend and I have been together for almost a year, and we met last year at the Habitat for Humanity build in Americus, Georgia, right outside of President Carter’s hometown of Plains. This Friday, we head out to the Habitat build in Seoul, Korea for a week - we’re very excited! We’ve both kept active in local Habitat builds over the past year, and we see each other every couple of months. We’ve luckily found extremely cheap phone cards (one cent a minute!), so we can talk to each other every night! He’s the kindest, most compassionate person I’ve ever met, and I’m very lucky to have met him - I’m truly blessed! I’m originally from Atlantic City, NJ, home of the World’s BEST Cheesesteak, and I will take on anyone from Philly who says otherwise <goes into Fighting Bubbles stance>. My family largely still lives in Atlantic City, so it’s easy to go visit. I have a gigantic 14 lb. Cat, and for those of you who’ve seen my picture, the answer is, yes - I DID put fresh lightbulbs in his eyes for that photo! I’m the youngest of four, and despite my age, I still get treated like a baby by my family once in a while. They’re sweet, but I’m a big girl. My hobbies include taking up my old hobby of painting and drawing again, and maybe making a few dollars of of ebay with that. I also fence. Yes, as in "En Garde", Douglas Fairbanks Jr. fence - it’s a lot of fun, if you’ve never tried it! I haven’t done it in a while though, I need to start going back to class!
Okay Itz, I am about done here and your time is almost up. Is there anything else you want us to know?
Yes - OJ did it, I forgot to water my plants today, I wear men’s deodorant because I’m paranoid about stinking, and for a mere hour and half’s worth of my time, my hairdresser turns me back into a brunette every two moths! Oh, and one more thing - I LOVE THIS PLACE!!!!
<ItzLisa does a backflip in midair, landing neatly back onto the Cornertime stool. Kismet shakes her head and laughs, turning back to the camera.>
This concludes this episode of Cornertime. Stay tuned for more tales coming soon..
