ARnutz 13792 desperate attention whore postings DAW Level: "Playboy Centerfold" 02-21-11, 08:28 AM (EST) "TAR Lvoe List Volume 18.1" LAST EDITED ON 02-21-11 AT 08:30 AM (EST) It's like a Once in a Lifetime Opportunity... Again!!! So... wouldn't that make it a twice in a lifetime opportunity??? Welcome to TAR all-stars retreads! So, we get some old teams who are given a second chance to win the whole shebang/ Many of them were foiled by their own stupidity. A few of them were foiled by others. Now it is a shot at redemption. Our teams set off this week from California - how original. They had to actually solve a clue to get their first clue, which added a new twist. Other new twists were, the last one to solve the clue to get the clue will get an automatic u-turn and the first team to get to the mat on the leg will get an express pass. Teams flew from LA to Sydney, AU. After the first plane became the second plane, they arrive in AU. Once there, they had to ferry over to Ocean World where they had to swim with the sharks for the roadblock. After they found a compass underwater, they had to decipher a code from a display of flags, then tell the commodore the proper phrase from the clue. Next, teams had to sail upon a 16 ft. skiff, grab a clue on a buoy and return to shore. That clue directed them to the pit stop where Phil handed them another clue and told them to keep on racing! Here's my list! rank. names 01. Gary/Mallory - good job! 02. Amanda/Kris - good except the very first thing. 03. Zev/Justin - love them! 04. Flight Time/Big Easy - love them too! 05. Kent/Vyxsin - so he's not Kynt anymore? 06. Mel/Mike - Come on old guy! 07. Jet/Cord - OK! 08. LaKisha/Jennifer - meh. 09. Ron/Christina - Ron may need oxygen soon. 10. Margie/Luke - blech! 11. "RE: TAR Lvoe List Volume 18.1" None of these teams are good racers so I'll rate them by how fun they are: 1. Gary/Mallory - Phil's "Stop talking, start racing" was classic. 2. Zev/Justin - A bit of an evil side, a bit of strategy makes for a fun team to watch 3. Jaime/Cara - Watching Miss January in action isn't that bad! She still has Luke wrapped around her finger. 4. Big Time/Easy Fright - He's a big man, really? I didn't know! They can be funny 5. Kant/Vyxsin - Wasn't she a strong racer? What happened? 6. Ron/Christina - If they drop the story of Dad knows best, they could be interesting. 7. Amanda/Kris - I hate regular U-turns but this was a horrible twist. At least they kept their calm and got some good luck. 8. Mel/Mike - Not much 9. Margie/Luke - Even less. 10. Jet/Cord - Pretty dumb. 11. Since I've seen all of these teams before, this list will be easy to put together, as one new episode is unlikely to change my opinion significantly, Like 1. Amanda/Kris - I like drama-free couples, and Amanda is easy on the eyes too. However, they seem to have gotten much dumber since their previous season. 2. Flight Time/Big Easy - I always find these two very entertaining to watch, and Big Easy being too large for task-related equipment is especially funny to me. 3. Zev/Justin - Still very likable. I hope they do well. 4. Jet/Cord - Two Oklahoma boys who are fun to watch in a boy-howdy, rednecky way. *runs away from Tummy* 5. Gary/Mallory - Mallory's perkiness will undoubtedly irritate me before long, but they were entertaining in the first episode. Meh 6. Mel/Mike - The obvious first Philimination, but I don't mind watching them. 7. Kent/Vyxsin - Just like their past season, Vyxsin rocks and Kynt Kent is a wannabe. 8. Jaime/Cara - As soon as Jaime is given a chance to speak in an episode, these two will be moving down the list rapidly. I have no idea why Cara puts up with her. Don't like 9. Ron/Christina - Ron starts pontificating and berating Christina next episode. Can't wait. 10. Margie/Luke - One of my most-hated teams ever, but due to the wonders of editing and their lack of air time, they avoid the basement this week. 11. In my dream scenario, they U-Turn Rail & Noose and set off a twenty-hour 'Doing anything to us within the rules is cheating!' confessional within the leg. 3. Kent & Vyxsin. Still fun, but this is practically a memorial placement after a horrific performance on the Roadblock, what looked like an endurance drop in the wind field, and overall weak racing to start the first leg. If the cowpoked hadn't out-duhed the pack, she'd be a surprise first elimination -- mostly on merit. 4. Amanda & Kris. Handling themselves well so far and adding a touch of strategy, but the charm from the original run isn't showing yet. 6. Margie & Luke. Pretty much a 'meh' leg, but get into the middle of the pack for Margie's smooth handling of the shark tank. 7. Ron & Christina. This is a temporary position. Eventually, he's going to talk. 8. Jamie & Cara. 'Hello? 911? She's back. No, this is an emergency!' (They're only this high because they were genre-savvy enough to figure out it was a swimming task before locking in the Roadblock.) 9. Herbert & Nathaniel. Managed to turn their own stupidity into a temporary advantage. Wanna bet Zev & Justin's real plan was to haul along the ones who can't possibly beat the season-ending memory challenge? On any given day, these two have only a 50% chance of remembering their real names. 10. LaKisha & Jennifer. Incapable of change. Incapable of realizing change needs to occur. Incapable of a lot of things, and thankfully, that should include winning. 11. Jet & Cord. CBS playing the hero edit this time around is unforgivable. "RE: TAR Lvoe List Volume 18.1" CBS playing the hero edit this time around is unforgivable. Hear hear! In fact, I'm going to do my first list in ages just to bring their average down. 1. Mel/Mike -- I'm guessing that they won't be around for long, but they were my favorites of all the ones who came back, and nobody impressed me enough to displace them. 2. Kent/Vyxsin -- I didn't see their season, so they're new to me. They're fun to watch, though. 3. Amanda/Kris -- Glad they're getting another shot. 4. Lakisha/Jennifer -- I'm one of the few people who actually likes them, but I do. They surprised me with how long they lasted that time, and who knows? Maybe they'll do it again. 5. Gary/Mallory -- I just wish there was a patron saint of shutting your yap. St. Calvin? 6. Globetrotters -- If they were half as charming/witty as they thought they were, they'd be much higher up. 7. Zev & Justin -- I only vaguely remember them. 8. Ron & Christina -- Another new team to me, and I have a feeling they'll be dropping in my rankings before long. 9. Margie & Luke -- I still like Luke, but Mamma Grizzly still scares me. 10. Jamie & Cara -- I can think of about five "pretty girl" teams I'd rather have seen back before these two. Zev & Justin -- as someone who has Asperger's Syndrome, I really should root for them! 2. Gary & Mallory -- you two turned a disadvantage into a big advantage! Of course, the heart attack on the other flight helped, but that wasn't your fault. 3. Ron & Christina -- they're only here because I fear Ron will go back to his old ways soon (sigh). 4. Flight Time & Big Easy -- did okay, although they got help from Zev & Justin. 5. Amanda & Kris -- did better thanks to the unfortunate heart attack on the first flight, but they're facing an Automatic U-Turn. And unlike the first time, it's really their fault. 6. Mel & Mike -- I think they got in because Brook & Claire couldn't do so. Still, they did okay. 7. Kent & Vyksin -- I would've liked them more except Vyksin had trouble getting out of the tank. 8. Jet & Cord -- I would've liked this team more except that they really got dumb in the first leg! 9. Kisha & Jen -- they did okay, but they aren't my favorite team -- yet. 10. Margie & Luke -- I like them okay, but they aren't my favorites and probably never will be. 11. Jaime & Cara -- I like Cara. I don't like Jaime. I did root for them last time because I wanted to see an all-female team win -- but Jaime made it hard! I LOVE having AR back but who chose some of these teams?! 1) Zev/Justin = a breath of fresh air. But I think they won't last long, and I don't like that they helped FT/BE (Not a horrible offense, but I believe all the contestants should do their own work.) 2) Gary/Mallory = Gary is the stud! They did a great job and actually DID the full task too She is praying way too much - there ARE other sentences Mallory! But they have a great energy, and appreciate the race and are doing well. 3) Kynt/Vixen = fun to see them again. Did you notice he's wearing less makeup this time? ;) Hope they step it up and improve. Not great racers but they could have a chance. 4) Amanda/Kris = so much hyperbole from ALL the teams, but that combined with their lousy performance at the start of the race, just set up so much irony! Anyhow - nice people, good racers, but they need to stay focused and work hard and forget the comments about their "luck!" 5) Flight Time/Big Easy = affable, lovable, and they are just blowing it! Asking for help on the first leg? After talking about how capable they are? I'd love for them to win just because they are such nice guys but they've got to earn it! 6) The Cowboys = have always liked them. But all the post race stuff that came out has colored them for me. And then they added to it by inferring that Dan and Jordan cheated to win their season, when they did not. Maybe it was for the producers to keep with the message of redemption, but it's not true and they should shut up about that. I was so disappointed with their leg though - and giving up REPEATEDLY in decoding the clue was unforgiveable! 7) Mel/Mike = love them from before. They don't seem to be getting a good edit though. . . But Mel rocked the shark tank. Don't know if they will last. Mel can teach Mallory about the appropriateness of prayer Hope they do well. 8) Ron/Christina = yes I remember them. Yes, we all loved her, and yes, we all hated Ron. Why are they back? Maybe to drive all of us to therapy. 9) Margie/Luke = Yes, they were pretty good racers and did well on their own sometimes. But the relationship between them and the entitlement/resentment/melodrama issues are too much. I wish them gone. And they are already cheating, plus did anyone else notice Margie's comment about helping Kynt and Vixen with the clue, because they thought they could beat them? Nice! 10) Who else is here . . . ? OH LaKisha/Jen! = Why are they back? And why haven't they taken swim classes? Isn't there someone else who deserved this slot? Want them off my screen. 11) Jaime/Cara = hideous personalities! I can't remember but I think Cara is the "nice" one. Be gone! Easy on the eyes yes - notice those TIGHT fitting jackets and tshirts? But ugly mean women . . .! No improvement since last time. Tension = Margie & Luke, Jen & LaKisa, Jamie & Cara. Ron is probably another component to add some stress although his daughter was and continues to be a sweetheart. I'm sure the producers are hoping they can count on Margie and Luke to engage in additional drama with the sisters. And what about all this information sharing?? I have never seen it to this extreme and I don't think it's really quite fair. Maybe I'd have thought it more fair if my cowboys had been handed the phrase like so many other teams. 1. Mel and Mike - I love this team and was so happy they came back. How many actors do you suppose would be so low-key and not call attention to that title or act entitled? 2. Cowboys - They did get some not-so-glowing attention after their loss and they didn't prove to be strong racers this first round but I still love Cord. Jet is along for the ride. 3. Zev & Justin - I hope they go far. 4. Kent & Vyxin - I hope they don't get eliminated this soon! I really do like them both. Kent's voice cracks me up. 5. Gary & Mallory - what a lucky day for them! Life is such a funny old dog - a delay on the first flight pushing all the losers immediately to winner status. 6. Amanda & Chris - I barely remembered them for some reason. No real strong feelings in either direction but I'd hate to see them gone in the first leg. 7. The Trotters :O) I'm with everybody who's applauding Big E for verbalizing what really mattered in their unfortunate situation. But if it had not been for information sharing, they'd be sitting over there next to the cowboys right now. 8. Ron & Christina - She's a sweetheart with the patience of a saint. 9. Jen & LaKisha - How nice to tell Mallory, "You're lying." It didn't sound like a playful comment to me. And yes, water is STILL part of the Amazing Race. 10. And yes, Margie & Luke are here to butt heads with the sisters. I'm not liking them anymore. Back on their season, I had them high on the list until Luke repeatedly acted like a baby when things didn't go his way. I bet they won't go his way this time, either. ;o) 11. Jamie & Cara - I feel sure they are the villains of the season and that's why they were picked to return. "RE: TAR Lvoe List Volume 18.1" Unfortunately (or maybe fortunately for some) a lot of this has to be based on my original opinions of them, because I'm not sure we saw enough of the racers this week to see if they've changed or not. Though even the racers I liked last time seemed kind of meh this time, and there are none that I hate yet either. 1. Mel/Mike - Still no drama and seem decent. 2. Jet/Cord - You guys remind me of when I lived in TX, but I remembered you as being a little smarter than not understanding you have to look at ALL the flags. 3. Zev/Justin - I liked you guys last time, though you seem a little more vindictive this time around. 4. Amanda/Kris - There was something that bothered me about you guys last time, though I can't place my finger on it, so you're ranked up here until I figure out what it is. 5. Gary/Mallory - Gary's great, and I think I might have ranked them a little higher if we'd had more of a break between the chatter. 6. Kent/Vyxsin - Kent seemed to participate a little more this time, so we'll see. 7. Ron/Christina - Still like her, afraid of what he'll do. 8. Margie/Luke - They're okay, again, we'll have to see. 9. LaKisha/Jennifer - Doing okay, though should probably have taken a few more swimming lessons. 10. Jaime/Cara - Don't hate them, but there's something about them that bothers me. 11. Flight Time/Big Easy - Really irritated me that they just asked someone else for the answer, again. That Kris is easy on the eyes doesn't hurt either. 2)Zev & Justin - I would have put them in first but giving Herbert & Nathaniel the answer annoyed me. 3)Jaime & Cara - Strangely I don't dislike them all that much. 4)Kent & Vyxsin - They seem really out of shape. I hope they pick up the pace. I'd rather keep them around over several other teams. 5)Margie & Luke - I wish she would stop babying Luke and being so overprotective. Why did she insist on doing the roadblock? 6)Ron & Christina - Likely to drop next week but I barely saw them this week. 7)Mel & Mike - This is a wasted spot. Token gay team with no chance to survive very long and I worry that that might have been CBS's intention. 8)Lakisha & Jennifer - This is more residual dislike from their season. The one team that seems to have matured a bit and might rise up my list. 9)Gary & Mallory - I just can't take her. Too much babbling, too much Jesus. 10)Nathaniel & Herbert - They are so full of themselves and not nearly as entertaining as they think they are. This flag clue should have done them in but Zev & Justin messed up. 11)Jet & Cord - They lost fair & square. They weren't cheated out of anything, they just weren't as good as Dan & Jordan. Flight Time & Big Easy - I like them but they're lack of racing skills are what will make them lose this race. I see an early exit. 5. Jet & Cord - I liked this team in their season and still do but oh my gravy, you guys suck! You guys had better hope that there's a massive bunch point to avoid getting tossed! 6. Kent & Vyxsin - Less make-up and no longer Kynt?? I liked them in their season but their lack of racing skills has me wondering if they are going to be making an early exit too. 7. Amanda & Kris - I don't remember this team at all... oh yeah, because they finished in 8th place! Good racers and if they keep drama free, they will move up. 8. Lakisha & Jen - Dumb team. Won't be around for long. 9. Ron & Christina - Why would Christina subject herself to being berated by her father on national tv... again?? Ron's older now and based on his huffing and puffing, first or second to exit. 10. Margie & Luke - Hated this team the first time and still hate this team. Soooo looking forward to Luke's incessant whining... not! 11. Jamie & Cara - You would think after suffering through one season with these two, I could tell who was who. I'm assuming the fake and bake looking one is Jamie. Cara is stupid to put up with this twit and Jamie is so obviously playing up her villian character from her season which is pathetic. However, I'll be surprised if they advance that far. 2. Kent/Vyxsin: Yeah they kind of sucked in the first episode but I still love them. Just watching Kent talk makes me giggle. I'd love to know why he's now "Kent" rather than "Kynt". 3. Jaime/Cara: yeah Jaime (I think) is kind of a witch but Cara is great. They're also pretty strong racers. 4. Lakisha/Jen: they seemed like they've mellowed since the last time. 5. Amanda/Kris: nice people and Kris is even hotter this time around. 6. Zev/Justin: meh they're ok. 7.
