"TAR Lvoe List Volume 17.4" |
This week, teams flew from Accra, Ghana to Kiruna, Sweden. They were given airline tickets, but a few savvy teams searched for an earlier flight, which wound up paying off big because they arrived in Kiruna 2 hours earlier than the pre-assigned flight.Once in Kiruna, teams had to make their way to the storage shed of the Ice Hotel. It was here where Michael and Kevin faced the speed bump - to sit on ice chairs for 10 minutes. Other teams got their clue on a big block of ice and went on to Fjellborgs Lodge where they faced the road block - mush a team of sled dogs around a course and grab 5 flags along the way, then exchange them for fur pelts and deliver them back to the start to get the next clue. That was fun! Next up teams had to make their way to Vassijaur Train Station where they were faced with the detour - beds - set up a tent and fill it with fur pelts and build a fire - or - sleds - speed down a difficult course on a techsled in less than 1:58. Most teams tried the sleds, but some switched to beds. Jill and Thomas skipped it and used their express pass. They were then off to the pit stop where Nat & Kat came in first and Conner & Johnathan were Phil-iminated! Be sure to check out last week's rankings by the awesome kidflash, to see how you're favorite teams stack up! On to the list! rank. names (last week's rank) Like them: 1. Nat/Kat (2) = Awesome leg. Great ladies! 2. Michael/Kevin (4) = Did great with the flight and had bunches of fun! 3. Brook/Claire (1) = The only reason they fall is they need to stop with the kissing. They are two crazy ladies and are having a lot of fun! Don't like them: 4. Nick/Vicki (5) = 2 stupid 2 live. I think they might forget to breathe sometimes and that cuts off their oxygen. 5. Gary/Mallory (6) = yeah. whatever. you're blond and you love Jesus. yup. 6. Jill/Thomas (7) = so bland. so annoying. 7. Katie/Rachel (8) = I was really hoping they would be the ones gone! 8. Chad/Stephanie (9) = He is a jerk! I hate them a lot! Philiminated: Connor/Jonathan (3) = I will miss them. They were nice guys. Awesome sig courtesy of that fabulous syren ©2008

1. Michael/Kevin (4)(3)(2)- great leg they made it happen with the flight and were smart enough to go straight to the Beds instead of Sleds with Dad. The speed bump was a bit lame2. Nat/Kat (1)(2)(3)- great leg! great attitudes 3. Brook/Claire (2)(1)(3)- I like them and the kissing doesn't bother me who cares....it's their thing 4. Gary/Mallory (5)(6)(5)- I like them they owe alot to MK for helping them with flight. Mallory has some spunk. 5. Nick/Vicki (8)(7)(8)- here by default they weren't around much this leg...I wonder what the cab fare from Ghana to the Arctic Circle would be? 6. Chad/Stephenie (9)(8)(6)- meh, Stephenie should have demanded to go to Beds asap...Chad's a tool 7. Katie/Rachel (6)(5)(7)-I wish they would have gotten a flat tire on way to PitStop ugh 8. Jill/Thomas (10)(9)(9)-I don't like them. They would have finished about the same place w/o using the EPass but everyone else was at the sleds still...I hope they get philiminated next. Philiminated Connor/Jonathan (3)(4)(1)- well we know why Connor did all the road blocks!! I love their singing...I wonder if they can get roles on Glee? They still look like teenagers and most of the cast is in their 20s I wish they would have lasted longer they had great attitudes.

2. "RE: TAR Lvoe List Volume 17.4" |
No big changes this week, just a little shuffling in the middle of the list.Like: 1. Nat/Kat (1) - Liked their personalities and bicker-free teamwork, and they ran a great leg. 2. Michael/Kevin (2) - Great job with the earlier flights-- made the Speed Bump even more irrelevant than usual. And immediately deciding to build the tent (the less physical task) was the right choice. Loved the images of Kevin sitting on the ice in his shorts(!). Meh: 3. Brook/Claire (4) - Well, at least they're not boring. 4. Nick/Vicki (5) - Got a better edit, and riding those sleds was the perfect task for avid motorcyclists who're definitely not "smarter than the average bear." 5. Gary/Mallory (3) - Had to laugh at Mallory's comment about being too short during the dogsled roadblock, but otherwise this leg was a mediocre effort. I can't hold it in any longer... Mallory is too short and not cute enough to be Miss Kentucky... not sure how she won... Don't like: 6. Jill/Thomas (8) - Team Generic Dating Couple made the smartest choice in the race so far with their use of the Express Pass. For that, I'll move them up a slot. 7. Katie/Rachel (7) - More and more, I'm convinced it isn't just editing. These two are mean-spirited and just not nice. 8. Chad/Stephanie (9) - Chad is a Neanderthal. Maybe if he yelled at Stephanie a few more times, she'd move a little faster. Worth a try, no? Philiminated: Connor/Jonathan (6) - I'm in the minority, but I never liked these two very much, and I won't miss them. They reeked of entitlement and were dweeby beyond belief.

Wow, I've really missed doing one of these the past two weeks.LIKE 1. Michael & Kevin - You just know that Kevin wanted to do the sleds but they were wise enough to know Michael would slow them down. The Speed Bump was kind of lame but I felt for poor Kevin having to sit there in what I assume were just thin, nylon shorts. 2. Nat & Kat - Gotta give love to the strong female team. They're a bit inconsistent with their placings but hopefully those couple of bad legs lit a fire under their butts. 3. Gary & Mallory - Normally the perky, peppy pageant girls bug the heck out of me but she is the exception so far. Dad is definitely the supporting player of the team. MEH 4. Brook & Claire - They're at the top of my middle pack mostly be default. I don't dislike them but I don't like them, either. However, they do outrank... 5. Jill & Thomas - Placed her mostly because they were smart enough to use their Express Pass to assure a decent finish for the leg and at least he's not Chad. 6. Nick & Vicki - Despite all the tattoos, they just don't stand out unless they're being completely dim. I dunno, they just kind of bore me and they're not particularly good racers so they should be gone soon enough. DISLIKE 7. Katie & Rachel - Maybe I'm getting racers mixed up but did one of them seriously call Michael and Kevin "the Asians" at the airport? Come on, I've spent less time with them than they have and I at least know their names. 8. Chad & Stephanie - Because everybody but Chad (and maybe Nick) seems to know that yelling at your partner is a surefire way to make her do a task better. I'm so sick of these alpha males losing their tempers and then making a half-hearted apology later. Philiminated: Connor & Jonathan - Dang, my favorite team gone so soon. Great friends, great teammates and nice guys who kept an upbeat attitude. I'm really going to miss them. They could give lessons to other teams on how to support each other.

1. Nat/Kat - Great racing for once, I really like them. 2. Gary/Mallory - Mallory is having too much fun, but I am finding her enjoyment infectious. 3. Katie/Rachel - You go girls! A bad week, but a strong supportive team. 4. Brook/Claire - The voices and kissing are irritating however they are having fun and racing well. 5. Nicki/Vicki - Not much focus. but they are racing well. 6. Michael/Kevin - Don't like them, couldn't say why, bonus points for helping out Mallory. 7. Jill/Thomas - Astoundingly boring 8. Chad/Stephanie - She may be OK, it is hard to tell, he seems a little unpleasant. Lovely cheese Mooney

I don't know when was the last time I did one of these but I know that, ever since the season TK and what's her name won, I had only been watching to play in Jims' casino. This season, some teams are making me smile while none really puts me to sleep or annoys me so I'm back baby! 1- Brook/Claire: I love their enthusiasm and their interviews are the funniest ones since BB's Will and Boogie. I hope the Kissing bandits go far. 2- Nat/Kat: Smart and strong, I love their smiles and their attitudes. 3- Michael/Kevin: They certainly knew what to do to save themselves but how is sitting for 10 minutes a task? I love how they interact but dad should have trained a little before doing this. 4- Gary/Mallory: One of the few Father/Daughter teams were the daughter's story isn't to prove she's not a little girl anymore. I like her enthusiasm and if M&K like them well that's good enough for me. 5- Katie/Rachel: They are boring but I'm a guy so, since they haven't done anything offensive I enjoy watching them! 6- Jill/Thomas: Boring and strong racers => Unfortunately a recipe for the win. They panicked too early with the pass though. 7-Nick/Vicki: Mentally challenged but they realize it's their weakness. They did well this leg once they figured out a cab ride from Ghana to the Artic circle wouldn't be a good idea! 8- Chad/Stephanie: At least he realized he was being a jerk. Philliminated: Jonathan and Connor: I simply hate it when players use TAR or Survivor as an audition. You don't sing in a race unless you'd rather be on Broadway.

Here are my rankings:1. Nat & Kat -- what a recovery! You did almost everything right this leg! Great job! 2. Michael & Kevin -- smart move in getting on an earlier flight and in choosing Beds. I like you. 3. Brook & Claire -- you are here because you actually sought out Nat & Kat, thus helping you get on the first plane. 4. Gary & Mallory -- if you'd approached Michael & Kevin, I'd put you higher. Still, I like you. Gap -- 5. Nick & Vicki -- you're the best of the rest. That's not a good thing, unfortunately. 6. Katie & Rachel -- I put you here because you didn't get lost in the woods or have a meltdown. 7. Jill & Thomas -- this was a bad leg for you. You didn't need to use the Express Pass, but you couldn't have known that. 8. Chad & Stephanie -- back at the bottom after a meltdown from Stephanie and a Hulk impersonation from Chad. Don't like you. Gonzo: Connor & Jonathan. If only you'd bailed sooner you might still be around. But at least you went out with a song.

1) Nat and Kat - though they got lost again! And let Michael and Kevin beat them to the task ;) Great attitudes - stay focused ladies!2) Michael and Kevin - that was great thinking getting on the earlier flight - made the Speed Bump inconsequential (and what a bogus Speed Bump that was too!) They did a great job. Though I don't think they should help other teams so much - could cost them big time. 3) Gary and Mallory - she has a lot of spunk but she's too loud for me. Still being small is not getting in her way and her dad is great. GAP 4) Brooke and Clare - I want to like them but Brooke's voice drives me nuts. She's like a football coach or something. Anyhoo - they did a great job and have quite the unusual background so these tasks were tailor made for them! Quite the surprise. 5) Nick and Vickie - my god what dimbulbs!!!! Take a cab to the Artic Circle? But they made a good effort this time and passed a bunch of teams. So good job - but they will not last long. 6) Jill and Thomas - wallpaper. I cannot get any spark off of them . . . I forget they are in the race sometimes. And they sure went on the wrong direction! Luckily they used the Express Pass or maybe they wouldn't have made it. 7) Katie and Rachel - not very likeable though athletic. Don't care for them. 8) Chad and Stephanie - as someone said - the incredible Hulk - he is a sulky, petulant, pouty baby a$$hole. Stephanie needs to wake up and run away from this waste of time. Did anyone else get chills when he talked of how inspiring the children were in Ghana? Oh no! He's going to get her pregnant and then she'll NEVER be FREE of him! What a jerk. And then he acted like he'd made up for his behavior at the mat . . .! Philiminated: Conner and Jonathan - the team I wanted to hate because of the incessant singing. But they were so sweet and earnest, and appreciative of the race, etc. And they ran a great leg in Ghana. . . They grew on me and I was sad to see them go. Nice leap in the air guys! Not that I have an opinion one way or another ;) Signature by tribephyl

LAST EDITED ON 10-22-10 AT 12:51 PM (EST)1. Nat/Kat (2,1,1) - Doing well and getting along. I appreciate no drama teams. 2. Michael/Kevin (8,4,5) - They really rallied and had fun this leg, and chose tasks that they were good at. That was a really easy speed bump, but not your fault. 3. Gary/Mallory (6,6,3) - Doing well and enjoying the race. And yay for no daddy issues. 4. Katie/Rachel (5,3,4) - Doing fine, but nothing really exciting about this team. 5. Brook/Claire (4,5,6) - Now you're just kissing people randomly, it seems. 6. Nick/Vicki (9,7,8) - Did a good job with the sleds. Good thing your driver didn't actually drive to the Arctic Circle, we'd still be waiting for you to arrive. 7. Jill/Thomas (1,8,7) - I had high hopes for you at the beginning, but when will teams learn that if the path they are headed down isn't marked they should probably find another one? 8. Chad/Stephanie (10,9,9) - You're really not supportive of her, Chad. When she was scared you should have either encouraged her or accepted it, not just glare at her. Philiminated: Connor/Jonathan (3,2) - Too bad, you were one of the few teams I really liked. But Connor seemed like he was really carrying Jonathan.

LAST EDITED ON 10-24-10 AT 06:51 PM (EST)A bit late this week: 1)Nat & Kat - Good job 2)Michael & Kevin - Getting on the first plane was great strategy but you were still last among the teams on the first flight. Hope you have a higher speed. 3)Nick & Vicki - So far Nick's meltdown in Ghana seems to be an isolated incident and they were the only team that finished the sled detour on the first try so I have to give them credit. 4)Brook & Claire - No one can be this perky all the time. 5)Jill & Thomas - Generic and forgettable. 6)Gary & Mallory - Feel no connection to this team, would not care if they left next. 7)Katie & Rachel - I'd like them if they were a little nicer but they have such attitudes. 8)Chad & Stephanie - He is not very supportive and she should have expected tasks like this when she applied to go on the Race. Philiminated: Connor & Jonathan - I didn't care for them. They seemed like nice guys but major wusses.
